SUPPLIER FINED FOR IMPORTING VEGETABLES ILLEGALLY

A Vegetable Supplier was fined $4,500 for illegally importing fresh vegetables for sale said Singapore Food Agency (SFA) on Wednesday (2 June 2021).

In October 2020, 63kg of undeclared vegetables was discovered by SFA officers that were imported from Malaysia by Liew Yeo Chiap.

All the vegetables were seized.

“In Singapore, food imports must meet SFA’s requirements,” SFA said

“Food can only be imported by licensed importers, and every consignment must be declared and accompanied with a valid import permit.” SFA added
