Sharing on the 吃的平台 Eat, Wherever Facebook group, he shared about the cheap meal that he bought from the hawker centre at Our Tampines Hub (OTH), from Mang Cheng Xiang Curry Rice.

The stall sells curry rice with several various side dishes, including economical rice with dishes such as pork belly, cabbage and tofu.

For his meal, he paid $2.80 for a plate of rice with 3 dishes comprising of a huge chicken drumstick, a large piece of kentang (potato) and a fried egg, with a generous amount of curry lathered over the rice.

Lim said that he only paid $2.80 for the meal, adding that he has nothing to complain about because it is really affordable and worth it.

Other netizens who had also patronised the stall before, agreed with the netizen and shared that the food was indeed very cheap and was delicious as well.

Used to be a F&B operations manager

The owner of the hawker stall, Mr Toh Swee Han, was previously featured in a Facebook post by Minister for Social and Family Development, Masagos Zulkifli.

Toh used to work as an operations manager in the F&B industry, before deciding to start his own hawker stall.

He shared that he is able to keep the costs low until now because the hawker centre at OTH had a centralised dishwashing and table cleaning system that costs him about $1,600 per month, compared to the $3,000 he would’ve paid if he hired assistants to do the cleaning for him.
