TRAGIC PLANE CRASH IN THAILAND CLAIMS LIVES OF 9 PEOPLE, INCLUDING 4 THAIS AND 5 CHINESE NATIONALS
A devastating plane crash in the Chachoengsao province of south-central Thailand has resulted in the loss of nine lives, including four Thai nationals and five Chinese citizens. The tragic incident occurred on August 22, when a small plane, operated by Thai Flying Service Co. Ltd., crashed in a mangrove forest near Wat Khao Din temple in Bang Pakong district.
The plane, identified as flight TFT209, took off from Suvarnabhumi Airport near Bangkok at 2:46 pm and was headed to Trat Airport in southeast Thailand. However, it lost contact with the airport just 11 minutes later, at 2:57 pm. A search operation was launched after reports of the crash were made at around 3:30 pm, and rescuers worked tirelessly for 11 hours to locate the wreckage.
The plane was finally found in the mud, with rescuers using pumps and backhoe trucks to dig 10 meters deep into the forest floor. Unfortunately, no survivors were found, and human remains were recovered during the operation. The victims’ belongings, including women’s clothes and photographs, were also discovered at the crash site.
Chacheongsao governor Chonlatee Yangtrong confirmed the tragic news at 3 am, stating that all nine people on board had perished in the crash. Authorities are now working to recover the plane’s black box, which is believed to be submerged underwater beneath the wreckage, in order to determine the cause of the crash.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the region, and an investigation is underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
