A stampede broke out in the Itaewon district in Seoul, South Korea during the Halloween parties on 29 October, resulting in at least 154 people being confirmed dead.
However, despite the tragedy, partygoers in the Itaewon district continued partying it up at bars nearby, according to The Hankyoreh.
A video was uploaded on Instagram showing some had to climb up buildings to escape, while others were seen receiving CPR treatment.
The police called for people to go home at about 2am, and some partygoers reportedly even shouted at the police, as the bars remained full despite the freshness of the tragedy.
People were still out on the streets and drinking in the bars nearby, even though the fire department ordered the festivities to be suspended at 11.19pm due to the stampede.
People were also seen taking pictures in the alleys near the site where the stampede occurred, and bars were still filling up with patrons until morning.
Ambulances struggled to reach the site due to the huge crowds who continued partying, as dead bodies were laid out in rows and covered in sheets.
The police were using loudspeakers and asking people to go disband and go home, as the partygoers shouted back at them, being unhappy about not having a place to drink.
