JB SHOPS GETTING BUSY AFTER REOPENING, BUSINESS OWNERS CELEBRATE

After over 2 years of tight borders, Singaporeans can enter Malaysia more easily and local business owners in Johor are celebrating. Businesses in Johor, whether food, car wash or retail, saw an increase in sales following the reopening of the Singapore-Malaysia border on Friday

Several photos of famous eateries in Johor Bahru has been seen on social media and business are even extending their opening hours to accommodate the large crowds

Hiap Joo Bakery

The shop which specialized in fresh bread and snacks has seen its business double in size since the reopening.

Zao Bao reported that many Singaporean tourists went to visit the shop and the flow of customers doubled forming a queue outside the shop.

Banafee Village restaurant

Famous for its red bone soup and penyet chicken rice, the restaurant with its relaxed concept is always lively at night.

The restaurant extended it’s opening hours and crowds were still seen at the restaurant even at 4AM

The restaurant manager said that business normally subside by 2AM but since the reopening of borders, it has been busy all the way and 60% of the customers are Singaporeans.
