The Malaysian minister of tourism, Nancy Shukri, said yesterday (26 April) that more than 200,000 visitors from Singapore have entered Malaysia since the full reopening of the borders on 1 April.
On the gradual increase in arrivals to Malaysia, she said that it has provided hope to the tourism sector of the country.
She added that it shows that the industry is on the path of recovery.
She further added that “Singapore tourists are expected to increase with the upcoming Hari Raya celebration. They want to visit relatives in Malaysia and it is good news for the Malaysian economy.”
She was speaking at the launch of a community ambassador problem to encourage the public to follow the safe management measures and check-in using the MySejahtera application.
