Chinese Woman Dies After Falling From KLIA Terminal 2 Balcony
Police in Malaysia are investigating the death of a 27-year-old Chinese national who fell from a balcony at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 on May 1.
According to KLIA police chief ACP M. Ravi, the incident occurred at about 2.20pm when the woman was reportedly seen sitting on the edge of a third-floor balcony while crying and screaming aggressively.
Airport staff and security personnel allegedly attempted to calm her down, but were unsuccessful.
A KLIA security officer later tried approaching the woman to assist her, but she reportedly struggled before falling into the terminal’s loading bay below.
Sources familiar with the incident also claimed the woman had been arguing with her boyfriend prior to the fall, although police have not officially confirmed this detail.
Emergency medical responders arrived shortly after the incident and administered first aid before the woman was rushed to Putrajaya Hospital.
She was later pronounced dead at approximately 5.09pm.
Woman Was Scheduled To Return To China
Authorities said investigations found that the woman had been scheduled to board a flight back to China on May 2.
Police have classified the case as a sudden death report while investigations into the exact circumstances surrounding the fall continue.
Videos circulating online showed the woman seated on an outer ledge of the airport terminal while bystanders gathered nearby.
In some clips shared on social media, a person wearing a high-visibility vest could reportedly be seen approaching the woman moments before the fall occurred.
Police have urged members of the public not to speculate while investigations remain ongoing.
