3 PRC Man Go Berserk Near Thai Border, Smash Police Car During Escape Attempt

Three Chinese nationals have been arrested in western Thailand after allegedly damaging multiple vehicles, smashing a police patrol car, and attempting to steal a motorcycle while trying to flee authorities.

The incident took place in Phop Phra district, Tak province, near the Thailand-Myanmar border, an area that has frequently drawn attention due to cross-border criminal activities and human trafficking concerns.

According to local police, the three suspects — aged between 28 and 32 — were detained following a chaotic series of incidents that unfolded on the morning of 4 June. Authorities identified the men as Yang Luda, Feng Zhengdao and Hupan.

Residents in the area reportedly alerted police after witnessing the trio travelling on motorcycles and allegedly confronting members of the public along a rural road connecting Ban Sap Anan and Ban Phadi villages.

Residents Report Vehicles Damaged And Motorcycles Seized

Witnesses claimed the men blocked road users, damaged passing vehicles and seized motorcycles belonging to local residents. The reports prompted officers from the local police station to respond to the scene.

When officers arrived, the situation allegedly escalated. Police said one of their patrol vehicles sustained damage during the incident, with its windscreen reportedly smashed.

Authorities later managed to apprehend all three men before they could escape the district.

Photographs released by Thai media showed the damaged patrol vehicle as well as the suspects after their arrest.

Initial investigations revealed that the trio claimed they had been tricked into travelling to Thailand before being moved to a location in neighbouring Myanmar. The men allegedly told investigators they were attempting to escape from the area and find a route back to safety.

Suspects Claim They Were Trying To Escape

During questioning, the three men reportedly admitted to carrying out some of the actions attributed to them, stating that they were desperate to flee.

Police are continuing their investigation and have not yet publicly disclosed the exact charges that will be filed against the suspects.

Under Thai law, offences linked to property damage, vehicle theft, robbery and resisting arrest can carry significant penalties depending on the severity of the crimes and the circumstances involved.

The case has also drawn attention due to its proximity to the Myanmar border, where criminal syndicates have previously been accused of luring foreign nationals into scam compounds and illegal operations.

Authorities are expected to conduct further interviews to determine whether the men were victims of human trafficking, participants in criminal activities, or a combination of both.

For now, the three Chinese nationals remain in police custody while legal proceedings continue. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be announced as more information becomes available.
