An E-scooter rider was caught at Toa Payoh with an E-scooter of weight that is more than 84kg.

LTA only approved PMD devices that are not more than 20kg, yet this device is more than 4 times the approved weight. The man was caught by LTA enforcement officers and of course, the device was confiscated.

Although that is strict enforcement on the approved units. We can still find similar models on Carousell as of the time of the article.

According to a local dealer, the model he is riding has a battery that already weighing at 20KG. Imagine the impact of this device.

It is as good as getting hit by a motorbike.
