SCHOOL BUS DRIVER JAILED LOCKED 3 Y.O GIRL IN VAN WITH NO VENTILATION

According to a court hearing from earlier today, a bus driver was jailed after he ill-treated a child and caused the child to suffer. 47-year-old Zulkahnai Haron, now a former school bus driver was jailed for 10 months and fined S$3,000, and banned driving for a year.

The man was unhappy as he was told to fetch extra students without getting paid and locked the child in the minivan with no ventilation.

The incident happened on 20th Jan 2020, after he has completed his usual job for the day, He was told by his supervisor to make another trip but no extra money was given to him.

He went ahead and picked up the student, but instead of dropping the last student at school he drove the child home and park his van in the carpark located along Admiralty Drive.

He locked the 3-year-old in the van and went to buy food and shopping at a supermarket and went home.

An hour later, a man at the carpark heard calls for help and found the girl locked in the vehicle crying.

When Zulkahnai returned to his vehicle, he lied to the passerby and said that she was in there for only a few minutes. Worried of the girl’s safety, the passerby insisted on following the girl to school.

After arriving at the school, the passerby brought the girl into school and told the teachers of the incident.

After the Police was alerted, Zulkahnai lie again and said that he soiled his pants and only left the victim for 30minutes.

The child was later diagnosed at IMH and the child suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder because of what the evil man has done. She was afraid of the school bus and could not sleep alone without her parents for at least 6 months after the incident.
