The implicated bread product was identified as an Enriched Butter Sugar Wholemeal bun through careful examination of the packaging and color. This revelation raised concerns about the food safety and quality standards in place during the production and packaging processes.

Accompanying the account was a disturbing image of the half-eaten bun with the lizard visibly squashed against it. Here is what happened: on 3 November 2023, one of our retailers in Singapore informed us that a consumer had returned our product allegedly containing the remains of a pest. We understand that our retailer has provided a full refund of the product to the consumer. Unfortunately, the contact details of the consumer were not obtained by our retailer. We have also tried to reach out directly to those who posted on social media but the consumer has not responded to us directly yet.

Upon being alerted by our retailer, we immediately retrieved the product on the same day and followed our food security protocol by sending the product for investigations, both internally and externally — samples were sent to an independent testing and investigative facility.

The independent third-party investigation report confirms our internal investigation: – The sample was checked under microscope, and confirmed as consisting a mixture of flour with water and yeast. – No insect or pest carcass was found inside the samples. – Considering the texture and the smell, the samples were a residue of bread dough.

Our factory holds FSSC 22000, HACCP, ISO 9001, and halal certifications, ensuring high standards in food safety and quality management. Our top priority is the safety and satisfaction of our consumers and we take any consumer complaint very seriously. We apologise for any inadvertent inconvenience and worry caused to the consumer.

What happened?

Teo, cruising in his Mercedes-Benz with a friend, faced a roadblock on his usual route home due to ongoing roadworks. What started as a simple detour quickly escalated when Teo, attempting to navigate the unfamiliar route, found himself blocking a bus bay along Flora Road.

As Mr. Koo, steering the SBS Transit bus, encountered Teo’s obstructing car, he sounded the horn and flashed headlights to signal the issue. Teo moved slightly forward but remained within the bay, prompting Mr. Koo to attempt to move the bus again. The situation took a turn for the worse as Teo refused to yield, and a series of horn honks ensued.

Undeterred, Teo abandoned his car and approached Mr. Koo’s bus, knocking on the window and shouting. Mr. Koo wisely refrained from engaging and reported the incident to the bus operations control center. In a tragic incident earlier today, a 21-year-old man was found drowned at Bedok Reservoir, near the PAssion Wave area, according to Lianhe Zaobao.

The discovery was made by authorities responding to a distress call reporting a suspected drowning at approximately 9:05 AM. The victim’s body was subsequently located and retrieved from the water. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The body of a kayaker who went missing on 22 October has been discovered in the waters off Sentosa, she was identified by the police as a 33-year-old woman, according to The Straits Times.

According to Channel NewsAsia, the deceased is 33-year-old Chew Jia Tian, the founder of a local handcrafted soap business.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) played a crucial role in the search and retrieval of the victim’s body, which was found at 3 pm on yesterday afternoon.

Authorities have stated that, at this time, they do not suspect foul play. However, investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are underway.

The deceased was part of a trio of kayakers who were kayaking from Sentosa towards the Southern Islands, and they were supervised by the founder of Kayakasia, 48-year-old Sim Cher Huey, who was also actively involved in the search efforts for the missing kayaker.

In a twist of fate, a fourth sea kayaker happened to encounter the group on the waters and decided to join them on their expedition.

Tragedy struck when two kayakers, a man, and the deceased, capsized between 9.30 am and 10 am, near the floating barriers.

The New Paper reported that the incident occurred in the “Bulan Channel”, a particularly challenging location, where strong currents meet stationary barriers, according to Sim.

The deceased had tried to help the capsized man but got into trouble herself, as both of them were swept under by the currents.

Sim told ST that he first met the deceased about 5 years ago through kayaking, and searching for her was the least he could do.

The man was then rescued by a boat that was passing by at the time.

The founder of Ninja Kayakers Foilers, Clarence Chua, said that the Bulan Channel was a notoriously difficult stretch of water to navigate, and that it is nicknamed the “washing machine” because the water churns people around in all directions.

He added that it is hard even for experts, and he also got into trouble there, and warned that it was not a place for beginner kayakers.

In recent days, a disturbing incident unfolded at the Civil Service Club chalet in Changi, leaving the public in shock. A 15-year-old girl found herself at the center of a violent brawl, getting mercilessly beaten up by 4 other girls while being egged on by a huge crowd filming and baying for blood.
