PRC MEN PUT GLUE ON THEIR HANDS TO STEAL CHIPS FROM MBS CASINO, JAILED

0

Three male Chinese nationals, Huang Chunsheng, 50, Jiang Renjing, 55, and Zheng Jiansheng, 64, all pleaded guilty to a charge of theft and were sentenced to 8 months, 7 months and 10 months imprisonment respectively.

The trio had applied glue to their hands to steal gambling chips from the other customers at casinos in Singapore, making off with about $1,575 worth of chips before getting caught, according to The Straits Times.

Huang hatched a plan to steal chips before he travelled to Singapore in case he lost money while gambling here, and came up with the idea to apply strong glue to his palms so that he could pick up the gambling chips and hide them from the unsuspecting victims.

He then shared his idea with Jiang and Zheng while the three of them were still in China, and he then passed two bottles of strong glue to Sheng to avoid detection when travelling to Singapore.

Huang knew that Zheng had a medical condition where he had to apply eye drops every day to prevent an eye infection, and told him to say that the bottles were for his eyes if he was asked what they were for when coming to Singapore.

On 6 March, the trio arrived in Singapore and stayed at a Geylang hotel, before Huang taught his accomplices how to use their sticky, gluey hands to steal casino chips the next day.

They initially decided to divide the stolen loot equally among themselves but later decided that each of them would keep whatever amount of chips they stole.

From 6 to 11 March, the trio visited the Marina Bay Sands Casino on several occasions and split up upon reaching.

After using up all of their own chips, the trip went into the toilets and started putting the glue on their hands before returning to the casino floor, targeting the gamblers who had placed large bets using a whole stack of chips.

This was to make it harder for the victims to notice if some of their chips had gone missing.

Huang was caught red-handed in the act on 11 March when one of the patrons noticed one of his chips was missing after Huang placed his hand nearby, and the patron then grabbed Huang’s hand and found the gambling chip stuck to his hand.

The patron then reported the incident to the casino dealer but Huang then fled the scene, telling his accomplices that he can’t go back to MBS anymore, and suggested that they went to Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) instead.

However, before that, he wanted Jiang to go and encash the casino chips that he had stolen for money so as to fund his gambling at RWS.

The trip then visited the RWS casino on 11 March and they were then arrested.

48 WOMEN ARRESTED IN POLICE RAIDS ON LUPSUP MASSAGE PARLOURS, “UNHAPPY ENDING”

The Singapore Police Force conducted a joint operation last week to tackle illegal activities across Singapore, including vice, gambling and illegal money lending.

About 110 suspects between the ages of 17 and 70 were caught by officers from Tanglin Police Division, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and the Health Sciences Authority (HSA).

Cash, computers, electronic hardware, e-vaporisers and gambling paraphernalia were seized by the officers during the raids from 26 April to 28 April.

Massage raids

48 women between the ages of 20 and 47 are being investigated by the police for vice activities after raids on various massage establishments and commercial units along Toa Payoh, Sin Min Road, Bukit Timah and River Valley.

Illegal gambling

The police also conducted raids at Bishan and Toa Payoh, where 11 people between the ages of 54 and 70 are being investigated for allegedly being involved in illegal bookmaking, being runners and punters.

$2,022 in cash was also seized, along with mobile phones and gambling paraphernalia.

19 other suspects between the ages of 21 and 65 were also allegedly caught gaming remotely during a raid on two offices along the MacPherson area, and more than $5,000 worth of cash, computers and hardware that facilitated remote gaming were seized.

AH LIAN NO MONEY, PUT ANGKONG ALREADY TOLD SHOP SHE “GOING TOILET” THEN RUN AWAY

0

Facebook user Jayden Ong CK shared a post earlier today warning others about a woman who had allegedly gotten a tattoo from a tattoo shop, before fleeing and not making payment.

Ong shared a photo of a Whatsapp conversation with the tattoo artist who shared about the incident, saying that after the tattoo session was finished, the woman told them that she wanted to go to the toilet.

The artist highlighted that they had already given her a very cheap rate for her tattoo but still got scammed by the woman.

The tattoo artist added that they charged the woman only $500 for two tattoos, but she scammed them by lying about going to the toilet before fleeing.

Payment for tattoo services

Not paying for a tattoo service in Singapore is considered a breach of contract and is punishable under the law. Tattoo artists in Singapore have the right to take legal action against clients who do not pay for their services.

The first step that tattoo artists take when a client fails to pay for their services is to send a demand letter. This letter informs the client that they have a specific period to pay for the tattoo service, failing which legal action will be taken. The letter also outlines the terms of the agreement, the amount owed, and the consequences of not paying.

If the client still does not pay after receiving the demand letter, the tattoo artist can take legal action. The tattoo artist can file a claim against the client in the Small Claims Tribunal, which is a court that handles small claims of up to $20,000.

If the claim is successful, the client may be ordered to pay the full amount owed, plus interest and legal costs. Failure to comply with the order can result in enforcement action, which can include seizing and selling the client’s assets to pay the debt.

Apart from legal consequences, clients who do not pay for their tattoo services can also face damage to their reputation. Tattoo artists in Singapore often share their experiences and grievances with each other, and word-of-mouth spreads fast in the industry. Clients who do not pay for their tattoo services risk being blacklisted by tattoo artists, making it difficult for them to find a reputable artist to work with in the future.

MEN CAUGHT ON CAMERA STEALING BRICKS FROM CONDO @ JALAN BESAR, POLICE INVESTIGATING

Two men who purportedly worked at a restaurant in the vicinity of Jalan Besar, allegedly went to a condominium nearby to steal some bricks from under the flower pots.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the management of Parc Somme condominium caught the theft on their CCTV cameras on 30 April at about 6pm.

A spokesperson for the condo’s management, Ms Chen, told SMDN that she was performing her routine checks on the CCTV at about 7.30pm that day when she noticed the two men behaving suspiciously.

She said that the two men appeared to be looking for something on the ground before one of them pointed to the flower pots and alerted the other guy.

They then left the area for a brief moment before coming back and taking the bricks away from the flower pots.

The first man was seen in the CCTV footage uploaded to YouTube walking towards the flower pots with two bricks in hand, comparing the sizes with the ones under the pots.

He then put one of the bricks that he brought with him under the pot before taking another brick from another pot, and the two men then walked away with 4 bricks in the end.

Ms Chen added that she recognised the two men as workers from a restaurant nearby and she then went over to confront them.

However, they refuted her claims and asked her if she was a resident staying at the condominium.

Chen also said that after lodging a report to the police, the two men then returned the bricks to the condominium.

The Singapore Police Force also confirmed that they are investigating the incident after receiving a report.

The owner of the restaurant where the two men allegedly work at, told SMDN that she had recently opened her restaurant for business and got a new fridge, but it was perched too low and her staff then went to look for bricks to hold the fridge up.

She said that they told her that the bricks were found by the side of the road and didn’t belong to anyone, and when the police came, the two then immediately put the bricks back to where they had found them.

MAN PAID $40 FOR “MEDIUM RARE” CHICKEN THAT’S UNDERCOOKED @ PREGO BRAS BASAH

0

TikTok user @boiwhatboi1234 shared how he went to have a meal with his family at Prego’s Bras Basah outlet and paid $40 for the chicken that he ordered.

Describing his meal as the “worst restaurant experience in Singapore”, the netizen said that he was served undercooked chicken and posted a series of photos of the “medium rare” chicken that he was given.

The chicken meat inside were still pinkish and raw underneath the cooked exterior, and the OP said in the comments “what if I wasn’t careful and carelessly ate the chicken? This is a real eye opener even the pricier restaurants can serve raw meat.”

He added that they told the restaurant about the issue and they allegedly didn’t admit their mistake, he also added that they staff tried to “make excuses, claiming that the chicken was cooked for 2 hours.”.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Could have just return the chicken and ask for a new one
  2. You should have given them a chance to correct themselves. One day you might find yourself needing a second chance as well.
  3. The chicken is basically yelling I’m still raw
  4. The chicken is so raw it’s still crossing the road.
  5. The chicken is so raw a vet could’ve saved it and brought it back to life.
  6. Why did the chicken cross the road? Because they didn’t cook it.
  7. Tats medium rare!! Who eats well-done chicken
  8. My kranji camp 2 cookhouse chicken also same colour but we cannot complain

Food poisoning

Raw or undercooked chicken can contain harmful bacteria such as salmonella, campylobacter, and E. coli. These bacteria can cause food poisoning, which can lead to a range of symptoms, including fever, stomach cramps, nausea, and diarrhea. In severe cases, food poisoning can lead to dehydration, hospitalization, or even death.

One of the biggest risks of eating undercooked chicken is salmonella infection. Salmonella is a type of bacteria that is commonly found in raw poultry, eggs, and meat. When chicken is not cooked properly, the salmonella bacteria can survive, leading to a salmonella infection.

Symptoms of salmonella infection typically include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. In some cases, salmonella infection can lead to sepsis, a life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical attention.

Three 13-year-old girls were allegedly gang raped by four teenage boys at a Malaysia lodging house after being lured to “try out some new vape flavours”, according to The Star.

The Star reported that the assault took place on 26 April at a lodging house in Sabah, Malaysia.

The Malaysian police have since tracked down one of the boys responsible and arrested him along with another female accomplice, and police investigations are currently ongoing.

WOMAN SAID SHE IS 1 OUT OF 10 FOR LOOKS BUT THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOMEONE MORE UGLY

0

To all those who rate people by fractions or simply rate others by how much they earn and look. There’s always someone worse off than you.

I think I’m a 2/10 woman or maybe a 1/10. Simply based on how I look. It doesn’t matter how much I earn. By the way I earn around 6k and I’m already in my late 30s. I get passover for promotions because I don’t look like a leader or I’m not pretty enough to be in meetings with the others. I notice the high fliers usually are the better looking ones and they are very engaging when they speak with others. I know I have none of that charisma. This is my first and only job since graduation. I know I have no drive and I am content to not work my way up.

I have already planned to stay with my parents and take care of them until they pass on so that’s where my money is going should I pass on earlier than them.

All the men in my social circle have friendzoned me a long time ago. I have already resigned to the fact in this lifetime I will be attending everyone’s wedding but my own. I will be buying baby gifts for everyone else’s baby other than my own. I know my looks are way below average. So I never bothered with make up. I just made sure I’m neat, tidy and presentable for work.

I don’t put myself out there so there is zero risk in being rejected. I’ve also started to only hang out with friends who are also single like me because I am tired of the pitiful looks other couples give me. I also know no one will ever have anyone in mind to introduce to me.

I do feel miserable sometimes. But I know no man will ever want to date me or even get to know me romantically. There’s always another prettier girl. If there’s a group photo of girls, I’ll always be the ugliest one. The one that everyone don’t remember seeing in the picture.

I do have other hobbies. I watch k drama. I like BTS. I play online games. I read books. Most of the time, I live in solitude.

Without knowing my looks, would any man dare to give me a chance? No.

There’s always someone worse off than you.

To anyone still searching for their special someone, as long as you continue to search, they will be found.

MAN HATES THE CYCLE OF GOING TO WORK & COMING HOME, 12 HOURS OF LIFE WASTED

0

I hate the cycle of going to work and coming home. I’m stuck in a 12 hour loop every day, with no end in sight. I wake up early in the morning, get ready for work, drag myself out the door, and start my commute. I spend the morning listening to the traffic reports, avoiding the potholes on the highway, and watching the clock tick ever closer to my 9:00 AM shift.

Once I get to work, I spend the next eight hours staring at the computer screen, answering calls, and dealing with customers. My job is not particularly difficult, but it’s also not particularly enjoyable. I’m just a cog in the corporate machine, doing the same mundane task over and over again. By the time 6:00 PM rolls around, I’m ready to get out of there.

But, of course, my day doesn’t end there. I still have to drive home. Depending on traffic, this can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. I’m usually exhausted by the time I pull into my driveway.

Once I’m home, I try to relax and unwind, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that I’ve just wasted 12 hours of my life. I wish I could use that time to do something more meaningful or enjoyable, but instead, I’m stuck in this endless cycle of work and home.

It’s not just the wasted time that I hate, it’s also the lack of control I have over my life. I feel like I’m stuck in a never-ending loop, with no way to break out of it. Sure, I could quit my job and find something else, but that’s a huge risk. Plus, I know that I’d just end up in the same situation somewhere else.

I wish there was a way to break out of this cycle and take back control of my life. I want to find a job that I actually enjoy and use my time for something more meaningful. I want to spend my days doing something that I love, not just something that pays the bills.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how to make that happen. I’m stuck in the cycle of going to work and coming home, with no end in sight. I’m wasting 12 hours of my life every day, with no real way to break free. It’s not a happy thought, but it’s one that I have to live with.

MAN LOSES WEIGHT OVER STRESS: “MARRIAGE, AGING FATHER & MONEY”

0

Need some advise. Some context here, M(34) working in a ok job and studying part time as well and planning to get married within the next year if possible with partner of 2 yrs+ who is 1 yr younger.

The dynamics of my own family has changed quite a bit at the start of the year due to my father falling down and accelerating his dementia as well.

The things have changed even more so as I have became a part time caretaker of my own father but it has been proving difficult for me to do so due to sudden changes for a dementia patient and add to the fact that I am fairly terrified of my father even at my age due to past traumas as a kid and it became very hard to take care of him by not being able to see him as a burden.

Thankfully my mother is doing most of the work with a helper by calming him and taking care of him but his sudden loud voice can affect me quite badly and it has affected my sleep and well being where I have lost 5kg over the course of 1 month ever since he came back from the hospital. Things are becoming better but I cant seem to see it that way even though I am now mainly a support role due to the fear I have of him. Also I am not that close with my family as well as you can call me the sensitive one and the other members will shake it off as ‘You think too much’ and would not listen to me and I have to help myself most of the time when problems arises unless it is a very major problem where I break down entirely.

I am doing as much as I can to move on to the next phase of my life which is marriage where I am researching the best way to purchase a new home or what I should or should not do in a marriage by going for marriage counseling with my partner as well. However the issue would be my partner’s uneasiness of moving on to the next phase of her life. She is helping as much as she can for helping for suggesting ideas but the issue would be her parents where we have not made much progress as I have made a mistake once two years ago over a dining table where perhaps due to miscommunication and different thinking between the young and the old, I have not seen one of her parent for at least 2 years.

I have been slowly getting into the good books of the other parent but it would definitely be very hard to do so for the other parent. So right now she is sort of stuck in between her parents and her feelings and me on moving forward as well.

I have been doing the best I could as well by being supportive, reading up, trying to get into the parents good books and I def want her in my life for the rest of my time but at this point it feels like I am stuck not being able to move forward as I cant do this nor that and any action that is needed by my partner cant be done or she does not feel comfortable doing it.

So at the moment it seems hopeless as I am stuck in a very unhappy place and I want to get out of it but my circumstance and financial burden on myself would be great if I do move out as rental right now in SG is quite high. We did talk about this but as her capabilities of handling these kinds of issues arent that great and the more I share with her, the worst it becomes for her and I tend to keep things to myself more often now

I know there is a solution out there but at the moment I think I am in a ostrich in a hole where it seems I am fighting a war by myself and solving everything by myself as well.

P.S I have been seeking help regarding my mental health but it has been a recurring battle with myself over the past decade as new problems keep coming up and it does not help when I’ve lost family members one by one in the 2nd month of 2023 and as of now I have been to 3 funerals where one of them I had to handle the rites and any final paperwork regarding that particular member. Add on with my new role as a caretaker, a part time student, a son, a aspiring son-in-law and a partner to my beautiful gf, I have broken down a few times.

Would appreciate any advise for anyone who has reached the end of this post. Thank you all
