The Arrest: Charges and Details

The Straits Times reported that the police arrested the 25-year-old male driver on charges of dangerous driving, evasion of a roadblock, and drink driving. The pursuit took place at approximately 1.45 am.

PERSON FOUND DEAD AT FOOT OF HDB BLOCK @ HENDERSON RD, POOL OF BLOOD ON THE GROUND

0

A dead body was found at the foot of a HDB building at Block 91 Henderson Road yesterday (23 September), less than a year after another life was lost at the same block back in December.

Eyewitness Accounts

According to a resident residing in the block, the deceased had fallen from height at his block.

He said that there was a crowd at Block 91 while he was returning from work on the afternoon of 23 September, with the commotion raising immediate concerns.

And although he couldn’t get a clear view of what was actually happening because of the crowd, he saw police officers at the scene, indicating that something serious had occurred.

As the news of the incident spread through the community, more details emerged, thanks to eyewitness accounts and photos shared among residents.

A Grisly Image

A photo of what appeared to be the dead body of the deceased lying motionless in a pool of blood at the bottom of the block was sent to the resident at about 3.09pm from a neighbour.

Another object that resembled an umbrellas was also seen beside the deceased.

The resident’s neighbour, who had sent him the photo, said that his child had witnessed the grim scene and was so shocked that he ran back home to ask for help.

Understandably, this incident had deeply affected the young witness, who then called the police to report what he had seen.

The infamous blue colour police tent was also seen set up at the foot of the block to shield the deceased’s body from public view, as a gurney used to transport dead bodies was also being set up by the police.

Official Response

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that they received a call for help at about 3.05pm on 23 September and officers were activated to Block 91 Henderson Road.

Upon their arrival, SCDF paramedics pronounced the person dead at the scene.

23 Y.O MAN NEVER DATED BEFORE THINKING TO GO GEYLANG TO LOSE HIS ‘V’

0

23M and never dated before, what to do?

hello, am new here. Decided to use this.

I’m 23M and graduating from University soon and I’ve never dated before.

I’m just not really sure what to do. I see old friends that have at least been in a relationship once, but here I am.

V as well. Sometimes I’m not sure what exactly I really want, whether a relationship or if it’s just lust.

I’ve tried dating apps but I barely get any matches, I think people would agree how hard online dating is? Especially if you’re not an extremely good looking person.

I even thought of just going to Geylang to lose my V card. I’m just conflicted. At the same time I’m not sure whether it’s even worth it to pursue relationships etc because of the things I see on social media (cheating etc, being used for money as a guy etc)

As for myself. I am a few kilos overweight, a bit nerdy looking and my fashion sense is basic. But it’s not like I don’t do anything with my life, I have a job, stability. What else am I supposed to have?

Advice is appreciated

ELDERLY WOMAN FELL DOWN ON ESCALATOR, SCREAMS FOR HER SLIPPER

0

A netizen shared how an elderly woman had fallen on an escalator and still screaming for her slipper, she got hurt and refused to go to the hospital.

Here is the story

This elderly woman, I’m going to guess she was well over 80, came into the store with two much younger folks with her. They were super friendly and sweet, asked a bunch of fun questions, had never shopped there before so they were excited.

The elderly woman was, I’d say, wasn’t overweight but she wasn’t super skinny either. My point in bringing this up is simply that she was a sizeable person, and this is relevant to what happens later in this story.

They were originally looking for the elevator, which I pointed out to them, but the elderly woman preferred the escalator. They take the free info stuff they need, then go up to the escalator to get on.

The elderly woman is watching the escalator like a hawk. They pause in front of it, and the people with her are holding her arms. This is a really bad but also obvious sign that she shouldn’t be going on the escalator. In that moment a customer came up to me so I turned my attention to him.

Next thing I hear is a loud slam. I look over and the woman has fallen backward at the bottom. The escalator’s steps are trying to drag her up, and the people with her are trying to drag her off. Given her height and weight plus the escalator trying to take her with it, that’s why it was hard for them to get ahold of her.

This was before I knew about the emergency stop so I just ran over, grabbed her robe and helped pull her off the escalator.

Security had seen this on the cameras so they rushed down there before I could even call them.

The woman had hit the back of her head. She was upset that her slipper went up the escalator and she kept shouting “My slipper! My slipper! I need my slipper!” When security got there they checked her out and asked her if they could call emergency services for her. She refused the care. They should not have asked, they should have just done it. It was a policy the store had, to offer instead of do it, and I think that’s stupid.

After sitting in the lobby for a few minutes they got up to try shopping again. This woman STILL wanted to go on the escalator and they had to forcefully pull her away from it and make her get on the elevator.

I forget when but at some point during all that, one person from security had gotten her slipper for her.

I did see them on the way out and the woman seemed okay, but, I really wish she had gone to the hospital.

MAN WANTS DNA TEST AFTER THAI WIFE RETURNS TO SG WITH BABY

0

So this literally happened minutes ago. So me (28m) and her (39f). Sorry for the rambling but I want everybody to get where I’m coming from. A little back story my wife and I met over 3 years ago in Thailand while I was over there on vacation.

My little bit of Thai and her little bit of English we still hit it off. I was there for 2 weeks and everything was obviously very “special bede time” while I was there. Honestly the best S of my life.

I went to live with her and her family in Thailand for 6 months. Her family and everybody was amazing she comes from a very religious background and everybody was super accepting. So I have her come to visit and after 3 months it’s either we get married or she has to return to Thailand. So we decided to get married because everything was going good.

And here and there she has made some impromptu trips to Thailand to see her family and friends etc. Just recently we have decided to start trying for a baby. We tried for a few months to no Avail, and she comes up with the idea to go to Thailand because Harmon therapy and invitro is cheaper.

You always hear the stories of women just wanting to be with you for a better life for themselves or her child. Everything seems genuine and we get along great but so many people have put stories in my head that I don’t know what to believe whether she has a fling in Thailand and I want to believe she just wants a good life for or she really wants to be with me.

But the baby turned out to look very different, My whole family is pale Chinese, she is also a Thai Chinese and her family was also quite white. But the baby came out dark brown.

Any personal advice would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks

MONEY CAN ONLY TAKE YOU SO FAR: FACING GRIEF, GUILT AND FINDING HOPE

0

I write this story with a heavy heart. People say money can buy happiness but it is only valid to a certain extent. The truth is it only prevents certain forms of unhappiness.

Loved ones and people in their lives are only there for a finite period of time.

Once they are gone you are unable to spend time with them anymore, making money is the basis of surviving in this cruel world but does it mean it should take away the time you can spend with your loved ones?

I have fallen into a deep depression and everything looks hopeless. The mental strain I am facing daily is escalating to a point where I am thinking of ending it all.

Birth, Aging, Sickness and eventually Death is the cycle of life that none can escape.

I feel like my life is tormenting me. But I have to stay strong for those still around and have hope in me.

If one day I am no longer around in this world it just means that people who mean something to me are completely gone from my life.

They are the only pillars that still support me and help hold onto my mental clarity but only by a thread.

I always appear strong in front of my family and others but deep down I have been always very fragile and I falsely put up a strong front. But I have my limits. Putting on a fake smile and acting like nothing is wrong is very tiring. Acting like I am cruel and I don’t care is my way of showing I am ok. But the truth is, I am far from it.

Living a life of regrets is something no one wants to go through but it still exists and reflects in a form of guilt.

If anyone out there is facing something similar and seeks a path to find hope, turn to those who are still around.

CRAZY AUNTIE DEMANDS THE TOILET TO BE CLEAN SO SHE CAN LAO SAI

0

I had already clocked out, but was still in uniform and decided to use the bathroom before I went home . So I go to the ladies room and it’s absolutely disgusting. The cleaning crew MC or something.

Anyways, I do my business and am washing my hands at the sink, when this older woman (maybe in her late forties) comes out of the stall complaining and sees me washing my hands. Our conversation went roughly like this :

Her: um, excuse me ? Can you clean the bathroom so I can use it or are you just going to stand there ??

Me: unfortunately, I have just clocked out, but I would be happy to go inform my manager so she can find someone to clean it

Her: well can’t you just clean it, you’re already here and I really need to go lao sai

Me: no. But again, I don’t mind going to tell someone about it.

Keep in mind I work here full time and had just finished a nine-hour shift of work in a hot kicthen all day. I can’t really remember everything that was said but it basically ended with me saying something along the lines of “I don’t work for free” because she kept telling me to do it and I ignored her.

She called me a lazy woman said going to complain and went to find my manager, and I’m now dreading going into work tomorrow on the off chance, that I’m going to get scolded out for not cleaning the bathroom when I was already clocked out.

Here are what netizens think:

They legally can’t force you to work off the clock, nor punish you for refusing to do so. Once you’re clocked out, you’re free, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Yup, this happened to me when I was younger. People would ask me questions and I’d tell them I’m off the clock. Got reported once or twice, with a manager saying that I’m not allowed to say things like to a customer. I kindly stated that I don’t work for free and would be happy to talk to someone from the MOM instead. They left me alone after that.

INTERN SHOWS UP TO CLIENT MEETING WITH JEANS THAT LOOKS LIKE A DOG HAS CHEWED IT

0

Am I being a boomer or does work-appropriate attire still exist? Yesterday we had an impt meeting with a big client and my intern showed up in ripped jeans. Yes we are a social media marketing agency and we usually don’t restrict our employees from dressing however they want on normal working days but shouldn’t there still be some form of respect in dressing appropriately when we meet our clients?

Everyone at the meeting was in corporate attire even our client but my intern just sashayed into meeting room with her jeans full of holes like it was the most natural thing to do. Does she have no money to buy proper pants or did her dog chew on her clothes the night before? I swear I saw our client side-eye her and when I told her about it afterward, she said that oh maybe our client liked her style.

What the flying fuck someone help, I swear these Gen Zs are a different breed.

Advice

Your concern about appropriate attire in a professional setting is valid and not limited to any generational perspective. Dress code expectations can vary widely depending on the industry, company culture, and the specific context of a meeting. Here are some considerations:

1. Company Culture: It’s essential for companies to have clear guidelines or policies regarding dress code, especially when client meetings are involved. If your agency typically has a casual dress code but makes exceptions for important client meetings, this should be communicated clearly to all employees.

2. Communication: It’s possible that your intern may not have been aware of the dress code expectations for the client meeting. Ensure that all team members are informed in advance about the dress code for such occasions.

3. Mentorship and Feedback: If you believe your intern’s attire was inappropriate, consider having a private and constructive conversation with her. Provide guidance on professional attire and the importance of dressing appropriately for client interactions. It’s an opportunity for growth and learning.

4. Client Perception: While personal style is subjective, it’s crucial to consider the perception of your client. If they have certain expectations for professionalism, it’s essential to meet those expectations to maintain a positive business relationship.

5. Generational Differences: Generational differences can lead to varying perspectives on dress code. Younger generations often value individuality and may interpret “professional” differently. However, it’s crucial to find a balance between personal expression and respecting the context of a professional meeting.

6. Flexibility: Consider whether there’s room for flexibility in your company’s dress code policy. Perhaps for client meetings, you can have a more formal dress code while maintaining a casual dress code on regular working days.

7. Open Dialogue: Encourage open communication within your team. If there are concerns or questions about dress code expectations, team members should feel comfortable discussing them.

In summary, while attitudes toward dress code can evolve, it’s essential to strike a balance that respects both individuality and professionalism, especially in client-facing situations. Clear communication, mentorship, and feedback can help address such issues effectively and foster a positive workplace culture.

SIAMBU WIFE DOES NOT LOVE GUY & EVEN CHEATED ON HIM PREVIOUSLY

0

A guy shared a story of how he got married to his Thai wife a few years back but he feels that she does not love him and is at a loss of what to do.

Here is the story

“I met my Thai wife in Thailand four years ago. She is 32, I am 50 and we’ve been married three years – my second marriage. I have given my wife most of the things she has wanted financially, but I am finding this a strain on our resources.

The problem is, she is expected to help her family back home and this is where some of our money goes. My wife has cut down on giving out money, but she still wants to support her parents and her younger brother so they have a better life.

My wife wants to send her young brother overseas to either the States or UK to be educated there, but I know this can be expensive and I feel why should I support this? She has already helped her older sisters. I need to be able to retire at 65 and be comfortable financially.

We have just bought property in Thailand so that we have got somewhere to live if we want to leave this country. We both work, but I am the main source of income.

I have given everything possible to my wife, but I feel I am just not getting enough love and support from her. I have tried to tell her how I feel but she says things like, “You can get another lady if you like, but you have no money” and “You are old.” I find this hurtful and feel like she doesn’t want to improve our relationship.

She is not as interested in bedtime activities as I am. At first the intimacy was fine (we were able to experiment a bit) but she says I was controlling her and it seems now she wants to control the relationship totally. I think she’d be happy with no intimacy, but I have said there is no marriage without intimacy.

She is not very affectionate, doesn’t like being touched a lot – unlike me. I have suggested that we could go to counselling, but I am not sure if she would actually go, as she doesn’t like to talk about personal problems with others.

I feel I am not being treated fairly as I think my wife can be very selfish. I really don’t know whether this relationship is worth saving. I have already forgiven her once about an affair at work with a married man after 18 months of marriage.

At the time I asked her why, and she said she had never had love throughout her life and wanted more.

I am a very loving, caring and understanding person and feel I have given her all the love I can give but that I am getting nothing in return. She has told me I am very good-hearted and I think she is sincere, but sometimes I feel a fool.”
