MAN POOPED IN HIS PANTS AT WORK DURING MEETING, LEFT & NEVER CAME BACK, NOW JOBLESS

0

I crapped my pants at work and never came back. My wife still doesn’t know the truth about why I suddenly became unemployed

I can’t believe I’m actually writing this out.

Six years ago I landed my dream job at my dream company and was doing amazingly well for myself. My wife was pregnant with our son at the time and everything really felt like it was falling into place.

Although I was experiencing lots of success at work, there were times where internally I’d struggle really hard. I’ve had pretty bad anxiety my whole life, but I’ve always been good at “masking” if you will.

On the outside it looked like I was this super ambitious, dedicated employee. But on the inside I knew that was the result of trying to overcompensate for my anxiety issues.

I was promoted into a managerial role after just 7 months and my team was awarded as most successful of the quarter.

Here’s where things fall apart. I have a sensitive stomach and I also have issues with pooping in public restrooms. Those things do not mix well with already existing anxiety.

I had a pretty important meeting that I was leading with a few VPs and directors present. I tried my best to get through it but I had a terrible stomach ache and needed to use the bathroom badly.

I was already nervous which made me need to go even more. I started sweating bullets and 25 minutes into the presentation, I lost complete control and crapped my pants. In the middle of the meeting. In front of so many people.

It was immediately obvious what had happened. I simply left the room without saying a word and never came back.

I didn’t initially plan to ditch the job, but the more I thought about it the more embarrassment I felt. How could I honestly face any of my coworkers ever again? My team would never respect me, and I’d forever be known as the guy that crapped his pants during a meeting at work. I just couldn’t handle the shame and embarrassment of it.

I never told my wife the truth about what happened. After a few days of me not going to work she started to ask questions. I told her I’d been fired for a mistake I made, when the truth is that I just left and never showed back up.

We struggled for a good year due to my sudden unemployment, which was especially difficult with a new baby. The guilt eats away at me some days but I don’t think my wife would ever forgive me or look at me the same way if I ever told her the truth about what happened.

MAN FALLS 10-STOREYS AFTER BUNGEE CORD SNAPS, PARK ONLY COMPENSATES $392

0

A tourist from Hong Kong who was on vacation, went bungee jumping in Thailand when the bungee cord that he was attached to snapped and sent him falling into the waters below.

The park where the man bungee jumped from, then offered compensation of a meagre HK$2,300 (or SGD$392) in return.

Went bungee jumping

HK01 reported that the tourist, Mike, visited Thailand last month with his colleagues and went bungee jumping at a part located in Pattaya.

Before jumping down, they were reportedly handed a document relating to the jump and the terms and conditions.

The friends then signed it without giving it much though before proceeding to take a lift to the top of a crane, where they were supposed to jump off of, that was about 10 storeys high.

Mike’s friend jumped off first, and he was excited to go next after seeing how fun it looked, and when his turn came, the staff member tied the bungee cord to his feet before pushing off the edge.

Bungee cord snapped

Mike then dove down about 30 metres with his arms wide open, enjoying the fall when his bungee cord suddenly snapped and broke when he was about 5 metres above the water.

He ended up falling all the way down to the bottom of the lake and blacked out, but quickly regained consciousness and swam to the surface of the water.

Staff members at the park then hurriedly jumped in to rescue him before sending him to the hospital for further treatment.

Speaking to HK01, Mike said that he was in such intense pain that it made him dizzy, and because he fell into the water armpit first, he had lost a layer of skin from his armpit.

He also suffered bruising and swelling on his left knee, chest and body, and there his left eye was also left reddened and swollen.

Mike was also shocked when the doctors deemed him to be fine and didn’t bother to clean of bandage up his wounds, giving him some painkillers instead and asking him to leave.

Demanded compensation

Following the accident, he reached out to the park and demanded compensation from them in an email, highlighting how he and his friends have suffered various losses in the incident and calling them out for being irresponsible.

According to HK01, the park reportedly only offered him a refund of HK$500 (SGD$85) for the bungee jumping, and another HK$1,800 (SGD$307) to cover his medical bills.

However, they wanted him to sign a form clearing them of all responsibility in the incident IF he wants to file a claim for his medical fees.

Mike has since rejected them for the unsatisfactory offer, and has reached out to the Tourism Authority of Thailand for help.

So far he had racked up more than HK$50,000 (SGD$8,540) in medical fees and has been hospitalised for three days, but thankfully it is covered by his travel insurance.

FT SAYS GIVE BIRTH IN INDIA COST $2K, ASKS IF DELIVER IN SPORE EASIER TO GET PR

0

Any benefits in giving birth in Singapore as a foreigner?

My husband and I are working in Singapore. We both are foreigners. I wanted to consider both the options of delivering my baby in my home country India where the cost is way cheaper ($2000) and delivering in Singapore ($8000-17000).

I have a minimal idea of pros and cons in delivering a child in Singapore. Ideally we want to get a PR here and settle as soon as possible. Will delivering a child here help with that? Any other benefits?

I am not worried too much about the cost as my husband will be coming back and forth to visit me in India. The other costs in India may equate to just delivering a child in Singapore.

Here are what netizens think

  • There is no benefit in giving birth in Singapore, will not help your PR application, and if you have any complications, the medical cost will be hefty. You’ll need to have comprehensive insurance or deep pockets.

The only benefit, Singapore’s maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate is super low. The odds are in your favour.
  • What about other family or support after giving birth? If you can get more accessible support from your husband in Singapore, then maybe it might be better to do it here?

Otherwise if there are more people to take care of you back home then maybe that might be more comfortable
  • Being born in SG does not necessarily qualify as an S.C., even for children with PR parents.

You want benefits? Try your home country, and for a start, you’d be paying 60% to 90% less on costs with the delivery, and if it’s a son, you needn’t stress over NS.

Genuine advice, go back to India.
  • Singapore has better healthcare system overall, so it’s just safer, imo anyways. But it doesn’t help with your application at all I would say. If not people will just come to Singapore right before they give birth for a 100% PR/ SC status lol

VAN FERRYING 12 S’POREANS CRASHED IN 4-VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN JOHOR, ALL 12 INJURED

0

A tourist van that was ferrying Singaporeans in Malaysia, got into a 4-vehicle crash in Johor on the last day of the March school holidays (19 March), resulting in 12 people being injured.

The accident happened on 19 March at about 5.15pm in the evening, along the North-South Expressway in Johor, heading south, with the tourist van believed to have been sending Singaporean travellers home at the end of the school holidays.

4 vehicles were involved in the crash, including the tour van that had 12 Singaporeans inside at the time of the accident, which suffered the heaviest damage in the collision with the vehicle being almost crumpled up and flipped on its side.

The other vehicle involved in the accident was an express bus that had 28 passengers on board at the time, resting stationary at the side of the expressway on the grass patch with all the passengers alighted and outside the wreckage.

The coach sustained damage primarily to its windshield and the front right of the bus.

The two other vehicles involved in the accident were a couple of SUVs, a Mazda CX-30 and a Honda HR-V.

The Muar district police said that the bus was travelling towards Johor Bahru from Malacca on the left lane when it hit the tour van that was in front, resulting in a chain collision – the van then hit the back of the Mazda which hit the Honda ahead of it.

All 12 Singaporeans inside the van were injured, including one who was severely injured, according to the police.

The driver of the bus fetching 28 passengers also sustained minor injuries while the passengers all escaped unscathed.

At the time of writing, the accident is under investigation.

The Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) also said that they are assisting the affected Singaporeans and their families, according to The Straits Times.

The Singapore Consulate-General in Johor also sent a team to the hospital where the injured Singaporeans are receiving treatment to render consular assistance and support.

COMPANIES DO KEEP TRACK OF EMPLOYEES SOCIAL MEDIA ACTIVITIES – “BOSS IS WATCHING YOU!”

0

When I first started working at my company, I had no idea that my every move was being watched and monitored.

I had heard rumors that companies monitored their employees’ activities on social media, but I had no idea how serious it was until it happened to me.

I posted on my Facebook something about my company and got sacked the following day

I had been with the company for a few months when I noticed something strange going on. There were things going on behind the scenes that I didn’t agree with, but I kept my mouth shut.

That is, until one day I had had enough.

I decided to take to social media and vent my frustrations. I posted a status update on my Facebook account complaining about my employer and the things they were doing.

I thought I was just letting off some steam, but I had no idea how serious the consequences would be.

The next day, I was called into my boss’s office and told that I was being let go. When I asked why, I was told that my post on social media had been seen by the company and that it was inappropriate.

I was shocked and embarrassed, and I couldn’t believe what had happened. I had made the mistake of airing my company’s dirty laundry on social media, and it had cost me my job.

I had learned the hard way that companies are watching your every move on social media and that it’s not a good idea to air your grievances in a public forum.

I had gone from having a good job to being unemployed in the course of a single day. It’s a lesson to learn and it is one that I will never forget.

So, if you’re considering airing your company’s dirty laundry on social media, think twice. Companies are watching your every move and the consequences can be severe.

My story is a cautionary tale that I hope will serve as a warning to others.

Don’t make the same mistake that I did and think twice before airing your grievances on social media.

CRAZY CYCLIST IN A HURRY TO MEET GOD, SPEED ACROSS BUSY ROAD & ALMOST KENA RUN OVER

A food delivery rider on a bicycle was seen speeding across a very busy traffic junction along Woodlands, with little regard for his own safety or the safety of the other motorists on the road.

The incident took place on 25 February at the junction of Woodlands Avenue 3 and Woodlands Avenue 5, and was shared by SG Road Vigilante on Facebook on Sunday (19 March) and was captured on the dashcam of a car that was waiting at the traffic light.

The video begins with a few cars waiting at the traffic junction for the traffic light to turn green, and at the time the arrow for turning right was also red.

A food delivery rider then zooms into the video frame as he stretched out his legs while speeding ahead and almost riding into a motorcycle, as well as almost being run over by an SUV who had to jam brake to avoid hitting him.

Undeterred by the almost-accidents, the cyclist continued riding on and turned right, blatantly ignoring the traffic light’s turn right arrow that was still red at the time.

Also, the cyclist didn’t appear to be wearing a helmet at the time, riding his bicycle on the road.

Netizens’ comments

Wuahhhhh jilaka… this one kena bang.. the motorcyclist kena handcuff.. the ebike rider donations all come sad story..

Upbringing of this kids nowadays problem but from this video, not his time to go, if he continues like that very soon gone or gg soon case,gd luck to him hopefully he don’t bring others headache.

Others might got into accident becos of his irresponsible action. Please keep these pple off the road for the safety of others!

Words of fairness, a few rotten apples does not means all apples are rotten. Likewise for all motorised vehicles. Government is the real issue here

Wow think his brake faulty… this dude is so lucky to pass thru all obstacles. Think next time will not be that Lucky anymore.

MANAGER TRIES TO SCORE ‘BROWNIE POINTS’ WITH BOSS AT EXPENSE OF HIS TEAM

0

I had been working with the same team for almost three years now. We had a really good working relationship with each other and we were all quite happy with our job.

My manager wanted to score ‘brownie points’ with the boss, made us do much more than our expected workload

But lately, my manager had been trying to get into the boss’ good books by making us do more work than what was expected.

As time went on, it became clear that our manager was only trying to show the boss that he was good at managing people and making us work harder than we should.

This meant that our workloads kept getting bigger and bigger, and none of us were willing to do more because we already had a lot on our plates.

At this point, I was starting to get really frustrated and angry. I had been working hard all these years and now my manager was trying to take credit for my work by making us do extra tasks.

I decided to speak to my manager about the issue and asked him to stop pushing us with more work.

Unfortunately, he didn’t seem to understand my point and only kept insisting that we had to do more to impress the boss.

Eventually, I had to take a stand and tell him that none of us were willing to do more work. He got really angry and scolded us for not doing our job properly.

But I was not going to give up and told him that we were already working hard and that we could not handle the extra workloads.

Threatened to give us the sack if we do not comply with his instructions

Unfortunately, this didn’t go down well with my manager and he decided to take matters into his own hands. He started to threaten us with dismissal if we didn’t agree to do more work.

This put us in a difficult situation as none of us wanted to lose our jobs.

In the end, we all had to agree to do the extra work, even though it was already too much for us. But it was clear that none of us was happy with the situation.

We all felt like our manager was taking advantage of us and trying to show the boss that he was good at managing people.

It was a really bad ending to the situation and none of us felt great about it.

We all knew that our manager was only trying to make a good impression, but it came at the cost of our own happiness and well-being.

MAN SAYS GIRLS TOO YOUNG ARE TOO IMMATURE, OWN AGE ONE MOSTLY ATTACHED OR MARRIED

0

I have been single for some time now, and it has been quite the journey. I am in my early thirties, and I know that I am not the only one in my age group who is single.

I have been on a few dates with people who are much younger than me, and I want to share my experience to warn others.

Thinks that dating someone too young and immature is tiring

I am of the opinion that dating someone too young is not a good idea. I believe this is because they are often still immature, and this can often lead to arguments and fights over little things and honestly speaking, it is very tiring/

I also think that those in my age group are more mature and better suited to me. However, most of the people my age are already attached or married.

It was clear to me that if I wanted to find someone to date, I would need to look outside of my age group. This is why I started to date someone much younger than me.

However, we ended up arguing and fighting over small matters all the time. I realized that I had made a mistake in thinking that she was mature enough for the relationship.

I think that this is because no matter the age, some people are just not ready to commit to a relationship.

I also realized that it is not only the age gap that can cause issues in a relationship, but also the maturity levels of the people involved.

I think that if two people are at the same maturity level, then age does not matter. However, if one person is more mature than the other, then there can be a problem.

Wants to find someone around the same age, but mostly taken up

In the end, I decided that I would be better off dating someone closer to my own age. I think that this is because there is a better chance of finding someone who is at the same maturity level as me.

I also think that it is easier to build a stronger connection with someone who is closer to my own age.

Then, the problem comes again because people around my age are mostly already attached or married and some even have kids already.
