MAN’S UOB CARD HACKED, SGD 985 SPENT @ THAILAND WHEN HE HASN’T BEEN THERE FOR 7 YEARS

A netizen by the name of Sanhaw Chong on Facebook took to Facebook to complain that his UOB One Card was hacked and an expenditure of amount SGD 985 was spent in Thailand.

Has never been there for the past seven years

The netizen also said that he has not been to Thailand for the past seven years so there was no way he could have made that expenditure in Thailand.

He has lodged formal complaints with UOB more than thrice through phone calls and said that the reply he got from UOB was that he was not eligible for a refund of the amount.

He also blamed UOB’s poor cyber security system for the loss of his money.

Here is what he said

‘My UOB Visa card was hacked at Thailand whilst I have never been there in past 7years! After complaints through phone calls more than 3 times, this is the reply I got from UOB customer service!

No refund ?! My SGD984.79 just gone with poor UOB cybersecurity’

Here are what netizens think

  • Wah gg, I wonder how the person get the pin from your phone. Anyway need to faster change card
  • Standard reply to deny their security incompetence. Ive had a friend that clicked on a SMS that used POSB’s integrated name and dedicated ‘number’ and the next moment , all her money was PAYNOWED out to another account. The bank couldnt do anything either.
  • Any police action or advice? Please share ah if got solution for future protection.
  • Seems like the person in Thai used either Android pay or Apple Pay via their phone after adding it, puzzle how they get the pin to add the card into their phone or just excuses from UOB?

Anyway few years back before Covid my UOB card was also suddenly transact in overseas, some ulu country and charged under Airbnb usage. After I saw the sms notification I immediately called scam department and was told my card will be blocked and new card and refund will be sent to me. Few weeks later I was issued a full refund from UOB
  • A similar incident happened a few years ago for $1400, and OCBC refunded the money after the dispute was raised. It’s just so scary why UOB didn’t take any action.

MAN PLAY GOLF IN BATAM UNTIL CADDY HELP TO CLEAN HIS ‘STICK’ AT NIGHT

0

I recently had the pleasure of playing golf in Batam, Indonesia. In my opinion, the golf course was well-maintained, and the caddies were friendly and helpful.

I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service the caddies provided.

She took good care of my golf equipment

I was not expecting the level of service I received. After my round of golf, the caddie to cleaned my clubs and to my surprise, the caddie not only cleaned my clubs, but she also applied a special oil to the club heads to ensure that they would stay in good condition.

This was something that I had not expected and was beyond my level of expectations.

In addition to cleaning my clubs, the caddy also offered to clean my golf balls. This was done very quickly and efficiently. This was a service that I had not expected, and I was most grateful for it.

I decided to ask the caddy out for dinner to thank her for the services and also because she was a sweet young thing and I was ‘feeling it’.

She agreed and we went for a BBQ buffet dinner followed by some drinks.

After that she took care of the equipment inside my pants

After getting a few drinks and casually flirting over the drinks, both of us were getting high and she began to lean on me and caress me. I could tell that she wanted it as she was acting quite seductively.

She then leaned in and we made out for a bit before she asked me if I would like her to continue her excellent service from the golf course.

Curious as to what she meant, I probed and she told me that she could go back with me and help me clean my personal ‘stick’ that was inside my pants.

We went back to my hotel room and I was wow-ed by her ‘stick’ cleaning services.

It was one of the best nights I ever had for a long time and I would definitely come back to Batam again.

S’PORE MOSQUE GIVES BROKE MAN MONEY OUT OF GOODWILL, & HE RETURNS TO STEAL MONEY

0

42-year-old Mohammad Razali Rahmat pleaded guilty on 7 March to charges including housebreaking and criminal trespass to commit theft and was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment, with four other charges being considered during his sentencing.

The man had sought financial aid from a mosque in September last year, and the mosque gave him $50 out of goodwill, but he then returned later and stole money from them, twice.

What happened?

On 16 September 2022, Razali visited the Al-Huda mosque at 34 Jalan Haji Alias to ask for financial help, and the staff there gave him $50 out of goodwill.

The mosque also encouraged Razali to volunteer at the mosque so that he can get more help financially, to which Razali agreed.

While volunteering at the mosque, Razali helped the staff count the money that was inside the donation box, as well s familiarising himself with the layout of the premises.

The following day, at about 9.30 pm, Razali took a cab to the mosque and climbed over the perimeter wall, entering the compound of the mosque.

He then remained inside the mosque until 6.30 am the following morning, prying open a donation box with a pair of scissors, taking $120 in cash and using it for his own expenses.

Later that day, a mosque employee noticed that the money was missing from the donation box, and reported the incident to the police.

Came back to steal again

A few months later, on 5 December, Razali returned to the mosque again in the middle of the night, taking a taxi there and climbing over the wall, entering the premises and prying open the donation box.

He took about $50 in loose cash from the donation box, before heading to North Bridge Road to change the money for a single $50 note because he wanted to deposit it into his bank account.

The admin manager of the mosque discovered the donation box unlocked later that day and noticed that the keyhole was tampered with and that the money had gone missing again.

He then went to review the CCTV footage and saw Razali climbing over the wall at about 12.38 am earlier that day, as well as fiddling with the donation box and leaving the scene 10 minutes later.

He was subsequently arrested and the $50 was seized from him.

NETIZEN ACCUSES COFFEESHOP EMPLOYER OF EXPLOITING WORKERS, ASK THEM HIDE FROM MOM OFFICERS

A netizen by the name of Sharon Tai on Facebook recently took to the social media platform to accuse a coffeeshop employer of exploiting her child who came to Singapore to work for the first time.

Made to work 30 days a month, still get deducted $500 from salary

According to the netizen’s post which is written in Chinese, her child had arrived in Singapore to work for the first time under the address in the work permit as Jin Guang Coffee Shop with the address Block 151, Ang Mo Kio Ave 5, Singapore 560151.

The child was then posted to 200 Woodlands Industrial Park E7, Singapore 757177.

At Woodlands, the child worked a full 30 days a month for 12 hours a day with no OT pay even after working for more than 44 hours a week.

To add on to the woes, $500 was also deducted from the child’s salary for no particular reason.

According to the netizen, the child was also instructed by the employer to hide if Ministry of Manpower (MOM) officers came to conduct checks.

She also asked if her child had become an ‘illegal worker’ after the child was sent to work at Woodlands.

Apparently, her child was not the only one who was treated and threatened in a similar matter by the employer.

There were also many others who got exploited by the employer from different nationalities such as Malaysians, Vietnamese and even PRC.

Their salaries were also constantly delayed by 1-2 months.

The netizen also said that as her child had already become a victim of exploitation, she hopes that no one else will follow in her child’s footsteps and urges all to beware of this particular employer.

She also said that this is not the end of the story, there are more parts to the story

Here is the screenshot of her post (refer to translation above)

MAN WENT UAE, SAYS MANY WORKING HOSTESS THERE ARE SPOREAN GIRLS

0

I was on a business trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently and I was quite surprised to find out that many of the hostesses working in the pubs were Singaporean girls.

It was a rare sight as I always thought people from Singapore will never be a ‘bu’ elsewhere

It was a strange encounter, to say the least because I had always thought that people from Singapore are very well off and will not need to rely on working as a nightlife hostess to earn money.

I was in a pub in Dubai, and the hostess greeted me with a very friendly “hello” and immediately from the accent, I could tell that it was one of my fellow country person.

I was shocked, as I had never seen or even heard of a Singaporean woman working as a hostess overseas. I asked her how she ended up here and she told me that she had left Singapore to pursue a better life in the UAE.

A lot are working part time, have other jobs in the UAE

I was intrigued by her story and decided to do some research. I soon found out that there were many Singaporean girls working as hostesses in UAE pubs.

It seemed that these girls had left Singapore in search of better opportunities, and the UAE had provided them with just that.

She also told me that almost all of the Singaporean girls working as hostess there had day jobs elsewhere and only came out to do this at night for more money because they were not earning enough from their day jobs.

Some of these girls were from the airlines and a lot of them were actually expats who have office jobs there while some were married to the UAE and ended up divorcing with their partners.

She herself hold a day job in the UAE and came out to earn some extra income.

We often laugh at Siam bu & Viet bu, but our own people are doing the same

This also got me to think that some of us look down on the Siam Bus and Viet Bus who left their hometown to come to Singapore in search of a better life, but our own people are doing the same overseas.

In fact, it takes a lot of courage to leave a comfort zone to seek a better live elsewhere and improve on your own finances.

WOMAN PAID $6.80 FOR ONE MOUTHFUL OF NOODLES FROM LET’S EAT SELETAR MALL

A Facebook user going by the alias of Joanne Yeo recently took to Facebook to complaint about paying $6.80 for one mouthful of noodles.

She had placed a delivery order for ‘Signature 85 Fishball Noodles’ from the Let’s Eat store at Seletar Mall and was ‘shocked’ when the delivery came with a very small plastic bag of noodles which could be held between her thumb and finger.

Here is her post

“$6.80 for a tiny 1 mouthful noodles!!”

Here are what netizens think

Many netizens who commented mentioned that the price of the noodles could be because she ordered the noodles via a delivery platform which usually marks the price up.

Some were also sarcastic saying that she ordered a budget meal and some also said that maybe it is ‘omakase’ size.

Here are some of the comments:

  • Grab food price is usually more ex? If buy from the stall itself the price shud be lower.
  • Children also not enough!! Ridiculous!! Complaint to the food center management!
  • Alot food getting more and more expensive, portion getting lesser
  • This is normal it’s because grab take commission from the merchant therefore prices are marked up on grab app
  • Usually this kind of place cant expect much… Sure exp de! Delivery have more extra charges too..
  • omakase size
  • Price mark up is understandable but portion cant be smaller wat…
  • Normal. Hawker food is for the rich.
  • 2026 $2.50 budget meal noodle will be a mouthful

MAN WHO OWES ME MONEY PULLS FRIEND AWAY FROM ME, SCARED I EXPOSE HIM

0

My heart sank when I saw him walking down the street. It was my old friend, John (not his real name), and I knew he owed me money.

He pulled his friend and moved quickly away after spotting me

I had tried to get in contact with him for months to no avail, and now here he was in the flesh. I rushed to greet him, eager to finally resolve this issue, but before I could get close enough, he grabbed his friend and pulled him in the opposite direction.

My immediate thought was that he was avoiding me. I knew that I had a good chance of collecting what he owed me if we could just talk it out. But John wasn’t having any of it. I followed him for a few minutes, calling out his name, but he just kept walking, clutching onto his friend’s hand.

I was so frustrated and embarrassed. I felt like everyone was watching me, judging me for chasing John down the street.

Was afraid that I let his friend know about his debts

I finally caught up to him, and I asked why he was running away from me. He paused for a few seconds, then said he was worried that I was going to expose him.

He was afraid that I was going to tell people about the money he owed me.

It was a valid concern, as I was so desperate to get the money back that I had already told a few close friends about it. I could see the fear in his eyes, and I knew that he was genuinely scared of what I might do.

I felt bad for him, but at the same time I was so angry. I had been struggling to make ends meet while he had just been living his life, not caring that he was taking advantage of me.

I told him that I wouldn’t expose him, and asked him to just give me what he owed me.

But he just shook his head and told me that he didn’t have any money. I was so furious that I wanted to hit him, but I managed to keep my composure.

I told him that I would find a way to get the money back and that I would do everything in my power to make sure he pays me back.

He seemed relieved, but I was still mad. I wanted to scream at him, but I just turned around and walked away. I knew that I had to get the money back, but I felt like I had lost the battle.

I had wanted to prove that I was the better person, but instead I was left standing in the street feeling helpless.

The public display of affection (PDA) was sweet to watch, and many couldn’t help but smile at the young couple’s obvious love. But not everyone was pleased.

A few people from the neighbourhood were not too fond of the couple’s public display of affection. They were worried that it might be too inappropriate and that it was not proper for a young couple to be showing such displays of intimacy in public. Some felt that it was inappropriate for the couple to be openly showing their love and affection in such a public setting.

Others were more understanding and supportive of the couple. They argued that it was a beautiful thing to witness two people in love so openly. They felt that rather than being inappropriate, it was a lovely thing for them to be able to show their love and affection in such a way.

The situation was an interesting one as it highlighted the different perspectives that people have when it comes to public displays of affection. Some felt it was an inappropriate act while others felt it was a beautiful thing.

At the end of the day, public displays of affection depend on the context and the situation. Some public displays of affection may not be appropriate while others may be perfectly acceptable. It is important to remember that the couple in the car park was just having a bit of fun and that their display of affection was harmless.

It is up to individuals to decide whether or not they are comfortable with public displays of affection in their own lives. If it does not make someone feel uncomfortable, then it should be seen as a beautiful thing. After all, love is a beautiful thing and should be celebrated.

MAN SAYS DATING CABIN CREW IS THE BEST, THEY ALWAYS NOT AROUND SO GOT FREEDOM

0

I’ve been dating cabin crew for the last five years, and let me tell you, it’s the best. I used to date people who were always around and that was suffocating. With cabin crew, I get the freedom that I need.

They are always not around at times, good for personal space in the relationship

Dating cabin crew is great because they are always away and I don’t have to worry about them. It’s like a long-distance relationship, but they’re only away for short periods of time.

That way, I can focus on my own life and career without feeling like I have to constantly be around my partner.

I also really appreciate the fact that cabin crew are so independent. They have to be able to take care of themselves when they’re away, and that’s a quality I really admire.

It makes me feel more secure in the relationship, knowing that my partner can take care of themselves and that I don’t have to worry about them.

Plus, cabin crew are really interesting people. They’ve seen and experienced so much more than the average person. They have all sorts of stories to tell about their travels, and it’s always a pleasure to listen to them. They can also tell you a lot about different cultures and customs, which is always educational and fun.

Cabin crew also tend to be quite adventurous. They’re not afraid to try new things and go to new places. I’ve gone on some incredible trips with my partner, and they’ve always been up for anything.

That’s something that I really appreciate and admire.

Finally, I love how understanding cabin crew can be. They understand that I have a job and that sometimes I need to take care of it.

They don’t take it personally and are always understanding. That’s a quality that I really value.

In 2019, she was diagnosed with a serious illness. I was so glad that just before Covid in 2020, I was able to take her to Machu Picchu, a place she had always wanted to visit.

She is now extremely unwell. It pains me beyond words that I am unlikely ever to be able to see my sister face to face again.”
