WOMAN SEEN IN CCTV FIGHTING OFF MAN TRYING TO RAPE HER INSIDE GYM

0

A 24-year-old woman in Tampa, Florida, was seen in CCTV footage released by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, fighting off a rape attempt by a man inside a gym.

The woman, 24-year-old Nashali Alma, was seen in the video fighting off the rapist, 25-year-old Xavier Thomas-Jones inside the gym located at the Inwood Park Apartment complex in Tampa.

The woman, who is a bodybuilder, was seen in the video lifting weights by herself inside the gym on 22 January at about 10pm, when she noticed the man standing by the entrance.

She then buzzed him in because she thought he was there to exercise, and that she had seen him before at the gym – according to court records, the man did indeed live at the apartment complex.

Alma said that at the time, she had thought it was “just another dude coming to work out” and that she didn’t think too much about it.

Tried to grab her

The man was then seen sitting and standing a few steps away from the woman at first, taking a few glances at her, before approaching her and trying to grab her.

Alma said that she told him “bro what the f- are you doing? get away from me, stop trying to touch me.”

She then managed to push the man away but he then chased her around the gym, succeeding in catching her, wrestling her down and pinning her on the ground.

The woman then punched him and tried to call for help on her phone, and the man then locked his arm around her neck, but she continued fighting back until the man got tired, and she then headed for the exit.

Woman had no fear, fights him off

Alma said that she “actually had no fear” at the time because she was a bodybuilder and that she was “actually pretty strong, so in my mind, he was kind of equal to me.”

She added that “as long as you fight back and show him that you’re strong and you’re not giving up, it’s possible to escape.”

She said that her advice to other women who find themselves in similar situations is to never give up, because “my parents always told me in life to never give up on anything, and that’s one thing I kept in my mind when I was fighting him.”

Targeted another woman

The police said that the next day, after the assault on Alma, the man knocked on the door of another woman at the apartment complex that he had spotted standing on her balcony.

When the woman opened the door for him, he reportedly asked her if she wanted to “hang out” before attempting to force his way into her home, but the woman’s fiance was home at the time and chased him away.

He was subsequently arrested, and he told the authorities that he thought the two women he attacked wanted to sleep with him.

SCDF OFFICER ALLEGEDLY MOLESTED WOMAN REPEATEDLY, SUSPENDED WITH HALF PAY

An officer with the Singapore Civil Defence Force faced 3 charges for molestation after allegedly targeting a woman at several places.

He also allegedly targeted the same woman at the agency on 23 August 2021, where he molested her on 2 separate occasions, and molested her again 11 days later.

The woman cannot be named and the locations where the alleged molestation took place cannot be revealed because of a court order.

The alleged offender’s name and information were also redacted from court documents, and it was not revealed how he was related to the victim.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that the accused has since been suspended on half pay since 13 January.

SCDF said that they take a very serious view of the incident and after being alerted to the alleged incidents, they immediately conducted an internal investigation.

They added that they “promptly lodged a police report after their investigations and removed the alleged perpetrator from frontline duties and placed him in an administrative post pending police investigations.

They also added that they have provided counselling to the alleged victim, but they are unable to comment further because the court proceedings are still ongoing.

The alleged molester’s case has been adjourned to 10 March.

If convicted, the man faces a jail term of up to 2 years, a fine or caning, or any combination of the punishments for each count of molestation.

EBIKE EXPLODED & CAUGHT FIRE @ BEDOK MALL, MAKES LOUD POPPING SOUNDS AS FIRE GOT BIGGER

0

An e-bike that was parked near Bedok Mall caught on fire yesterday evening, making loud popping noises as the fire engulfed the electric device.

The incident took place on 19 February along Bedok North Drive in Bedok Central, near the vicinity of the Bedok Mall shopping centre.

Videos of the incident circulated on social media, with the e-bike being seen engulfed in flames as passers-by watched on.

The fire then slowly got bigger as a few parts of the e-bike exploded and made popping noises.

Another video emerged online showing firefighters from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responding to the fire and putting it out.

A food delivery rider was also seen standing next to the fire while on the phone, although it isn’t clear if he was the owner of the burning e-bike.

Prior to the arrival of the SCDF officers, a man wearing a purple t-shirt was seen trying to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher but backed away from the flames when it got bigger.

A netizen who shared videos of the incident, Mr Muhammad Iqmal, shared that he was in the area when he chanced upon the fire at about 6.54pm.

The firefighters arrived at about 7pm and used a special fire extinguisher to put out the fire, but there were still remnants of flames.

Eventually, the whole team of firefighters had to spring into action because the SCDF first responders were initially not able to fully put out the fire.

There were no injuries reported, and the SCDF confirmed that they were alerted to a fire that broke out along Bedok North Street 1 involving a PMD.

A compressed air foam backpack was used by the firefighters to put out the fire, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

6 Y.O BOY DROWNED IN SWIMMING CLASS, INSTRUCTOR IGNORED & THOUGHT IT WAS A “JOKE”

0

A 6-year-old boy in South Korea drowned to his death during a swimming lesson at his apartment complex’s swimming pool.

The incident took place on 8 February in Busan, South Korea.

The boy who drowned suffered brain death and later died – his life jacket had gotten stuck on the ladder inside the swimming pool.

The Korea Herald reported that the incident happened during a 3-to-1 swimming lesson between the coach and 3 young students.

CCTV footage showed the swimming instructor attending to another student at the opposite end of the swimming pool when the deceased started drowning.

There was no lifeguard present at the time and the boy’s parents were also not around because they were at work.

The mother of the boy posted about the incident online, saying that she received no apology or visit from the pool officials and no one discussed how the boy could have been saved.

She said that she is spending “every minute and every second apologising for her child while her heart aches with regrets.”

Instructor thought boy was joking, ignored calls for help

At the time of the drowning, another 8-year-old boy had called the instructor for help but he had thought it was a joke and didn’t immediately check on the situation, according to EDaily.

The 8-year-old boy then tried to pull the 6-year-old boy out of the swimming pool but couldn’t because he wasn’t strong enough.

A third child then started calling for help and the instructor then finally realised the severity of the situation, lifting the boy out of the pool and performing CPR on him for about 30 minutes.

The boy was then resuscitated but was diagnosed as brain-dead, before being put on life support.

The doctors recommended taking the boy off life support and letting him die with dignity, but the mother refused because she was reluctant to let her son go.

However, on 15 February, the boy succumbed to his condition and subsequently died.

The South Korean police are investigating the cause of the accident, and the instructor and the pool officials may be charged with negligent homicide.

WIFE FORCES HUSBAND TO QUIT MUTTON CAUSE SHE HATES THE SMELL

0

I married the love of my life two years ago.

We were so in love, but I was always the one who wanted to try something new.

I loved exploring the world, and I wanted to take my wife along with me on my adventures. We had so much fun together, and I thought I was the luckiest guy in the world.

But then my wife made a request that I couldn’t ignore. She asked me to quit eating mutton.

At first, I thought she was joking. I love mutton and had been eating it since I was a kid. But it quickly became clear that she was serious. She hated the smell of mutton, so she wanted me to stop eating it.

I tried to reason with her, but she was adamant. She said it was either stop eating mutton or every time I eat mutton she won’t kiss me for a month.

I had no choice but to give in.

So, I stopped eating mutton. It was hard at first, but I got used to it. I found other foods that I liked and started to enjoy them. I also tried to respect my wife’s wishes and not eat mutton when I was around her.

But then something strange happened. The mutton started to call to me. I started dreaming about it, and I started to crave it. I started to obsess about it, and it felt like something was missing from my life.

I knew I had to tell my wife or maybe not?

I am secretly eating mutton behind her like I am having an affair without her knowing and goes home to brush my teeth before talking to her.

Is my wife too controlling?

BOSS DEMANDS STAFF TO BUY NEW CAR FOR THE JOB, BUT DOES NOT PAY ALLOWANCE

0

Hi. I 27F has been at this job for about 6 months now. There are only 5 of us and 3 of us rotate to different clinics for coverage when needed.

Iโ€™m up next.

I was hired for PT which makes travel voluntarily. She has me working FT not by choice which now means she is able to have me travel. But this is not in my job description. Her first idea last week when i told her originally was for me to just get a new car.

I am having car problems. I need a new water pump, timing belt and timing belt pulley. I have been advised that it is ok to driveโ€ฆuntil it isnโ€™t and only small distances.

My job is only 10 minutes from my house and one of the places i get sent to is another 10 minutes. thatโ€™s fine i am able to pull over if needed. But my boss also has us go to a place that is 1hr+ with traffic and I told her i am not comfortable going there till itโ€™s fixed which i am in the process of doing.

She said she will expect me there if she needs me there.

Some of my colleagues say itโ€™s not right and theyโ€™d be ok with going till my car is fixed and some say sheโ€™s keeping it fair.

Is it too much if I told her I will go only if she agrees to pay if i need to tow it back home?

Here are what netizens think:

  • But, don’t expect that. Typically one of the requirements for having a job like that is to have a reliable car.
  • I’ve had quite a few jobs where we needed to go to different locations, UNLESS this wasn’t part of the requirements mentioned when you applied for the role. it usually says “some travel is required” or something. IF you knew this and accepted the job, then car upkeep is on you.
  • ย If you are having to do additional travel for work, your boss should be amenable with something like a car allowance. In a lot of industries, you have to get paid for mileage when you travel somewhere that’s not your work base. Check into that and see what they are paying for mileage.

MAN LOSES MONEY IN BUSINESS FOR BEING TOO ‘GENEROUS’ WITH FRIENDS

0

Starting a business has always been a dream of mine. I always wanted to own a restaurant, but I never thought it would be so hard.

I thought that I would make a lot of money quickly and easily, but it hasnโ€™t been that way at all. In fact, Iโ€™ve actually lost money in the business because I was too generous with my friends.

Put in a lot of hard work

I opened the restaurant about a year ago, and I was so excited to get started. I had worked hard to make sure everything was perfect, and I had high hopes for the business. I was sure that I was going to make a lot of money quickly and easily.

However, I quickly realized that I was wrong. Running a restaurant is a lot of work, and it doesnโ€™t always bring in the money I had hoped for. I started to get discouraged and frustrated, and I was ready to give up.

My friends came to support after hearing I was not doing well

My friends came down to support my business after hearing that I was not doing well.

As I was a person with ego and wanted to show them I was doing well and profiting, I gave them a discount on their first visit and then decided that I need to match what I told them.

So, I started letting them dine at my restaurant for free. Whenever they wanted to come in, I would say yes and I wouldnโ€™t charge them. I thought I was doing them a favor, but it ended up costing me a lot of money.

Checked my finances and realised I was not doing well

I didnโ€™t realize how much money I was losing until I started to look at my finances. I had been so generous with my friends that I was losing money every time they came in.

I had to pay the staff, buy the food, and cover the costs of running the restaurant, and my friends werenโ€™t contributing anything.

It was a hard lesson to learn, but I realized that I had to start charging my friends for their meals. I didnโ€™t want to do it, but I had to if I wanted to keep the business going. I still thank them for all their support, but now I make sure to bill them whenever they come in.

Running a business is never easy, and itโ€™s even harder when youโ€™re too generous with your friends. I learned the hard way that I need to make sure that Iโ€™m getting paid for the services I provide. It took a while, but I eventually figured out how to make my business profitable.

Iโ€™m still learning a lot every day, and Iโ€™m sure that there will be more mistakes down the road. But Iโ€™ve learned my lesson, and Iโ€™m not going to be too generous with my friends anymore.

Iโ€™m going to make sure that Iโ€™m getting paid for the services I provide so I can keep my business running.

FRESH GRAD CANNOT TAHAN WORKING IN SMALL SME WITH INCOMPETENT SUPERVISOR

0

dealing with an incompetent supervisor

iโ€™m a fresh grad, working for 6 months in this relatively small SME.

i like my company and the job scope but i just cannot deal with my supervisor (M). any work that HOD give, M will straight away assign to me. because itโ€™s a SME, the team is very small, just M and me for this role (cuz not that much scope for this role)

i am swamped with a lot of work because M just pushes EVERYTHING to me. M barely does anything, and i know because in company meetings every team need to report our updates on the projects. the projects my team are running are all what i am doing alone.

normally when ur supervisor go overseas, they need to get other ppl to cover. however M went on a 2 week holiday and guess wat, thereโ€™s nothing to handover to me.

also i cannot even take more than 3 days leave. cos on top of projects there are BAU stuff that need to run for biz decisions. i have told M what if i want to go holiday, who will cover? the BAU stuff is slightly complicated but i have gone through with M what to do many times. M just laugh and switch topic, expecting me to settle??? i know M doesnโ€™t know how to do the processes still so i cannot just go on leave and MIA lols..

also recently i got a small promotion although im only 6 months in coz i did well on a project i was leading. M didnโ€™t even congratulate me, infact M just complained straight to my face, why they didnโ€™t promote M? because M feels that he/she is โ€œleading the team very wellโ€?!?

iโ€™m doing well becoz of my own capabilities, but M somehow think he/she guided me thatโ€™s why i can do so well???? infact M doesnโ€™t give any proper advice cos M doesnโ€™t know what is going on half the time. i have to often consult people from other teams who have more experience in the projects.

i am frustrated because M does not appreciate the work that i do, infact i can sense he/she feels threatened coz ppl often find me to discuss projects instead of going to him/her.

i would like to ask if this is common in SME or among singapore working culture?

MAN SAYS HIS USUAL HAUNT IS AT LUCKY PLAZA, LIKES TO PICK UP GIRLS THERE

0

I’m sure many of you already know that Orchard Road is the premier shopping destination in Singapore. It’s the place where you can find everything from luxury goods to cheap knock-offs. But did you know it can also be the best place to pick up girls for some ‘fun’?

I am talking about Lucky Plaza, a place where many foreign girls meet on the weekends to chill out with their friends on their off days.

Many girls to hit on

It may seem a bit counterintuitive, but Lucky Plaza is actually an ideal place to meet women for ‘fun’. First, the area is filled with people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. This means that you have a wide variety of options when it comes to the type of girl you want to hit on.

Second, most of the people in the area are looking to have a good time, and they’re generally in a good mood. This makes it easier to strike up a conversation and get the ball rolling.

Third, the area is filled with bars, clubs, and other places where people go to socialize. This means that there are plenty of opportunities to meet women and get to know them in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

Finally, since Orchard Road is a prime area for shopping, you can use it to your advantage by buying gifts for the girl you’re interested in.

This can help you create a connection with her and make her more open to the idea of having relations with you if you have not managed to psycho her to do it with you.

Move on if the girl is not interested, don’t be desperate

Of course, there are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to picking up girls for ‘fun’ at Lucky Plaza.

First, you should be aware that the area is full of people from all walks of life and that you should respect their boundaries.

Second, it’s important to remember that not all women are looking for ‘fun’. So, it’s important to read the situation and be respectful if a woman is not interested in your advances.

Finally, it’s important to stay safe when you’re out looking for ‘fun’ at Lucky Plaza. Make sure you always have a friend with you, and never accept drinks from strangers.

Also, be mindful of your surroundings and don’t do anything that could put you in danger.

Overall, Lucky Plaza is an excellent place to pick up girls for a one night stand. Just remember to be respectful and stay safe, and you should have no problem finding someone to spend the night with.

Good luck!
