CUSTOMER ASKED FOR EXTRA MILO POWDER FOR HIS DRINK, RESTAURANT PUT INSIDE HIS RICE

0

A Grabfood customer in Malaysia had apparently asked for extra milo powder for his drink and the restaurant added the powder to his chicken rice instead.

The post was shared on Facebook by KBH Chicken Rice restaurant in Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru, who captioned their post:

“The request of the customer, we have done our best…”

The customer’s special request on his order notes stated: “on Christmas, even my family didn’t give me a call and I’m feeling very sad.”

He added, “I really like thick milo powders, please help me add a ton of milo powder, add until I will start questioning my life.”

“Add the milo powder until we start questioning our sanity, but please don’t add until you get fired by your boss, thank you.”

And the restaurant duly obliged, adding the milo powder until they started questioning their sanity, but they added it onto his chicken rice instead.

A 31-year-old Singaporean man was killed after being struck by a machine at a worksite and pinned down yesterday morning (27 December).

The machine toppled while being moved by a forklift and hit him.

The fatal accident took place at a worksite at 601 Rifle Range Road, near Upper Peirce Reservoir which is being occupied by ST Engineering Advanced Material Engineering.

The deceased was a worker of RCM Resources, and he was conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital unconscious, before succumbing to his injuries and being pronounced dead.

He is the 45th workplace fatality this year so far.

MOM said that it is crucial that forks be inserted below a load when using forklifts, and to make sure the load is stable before raising it for transfers so as to prevent any accidental toppling of the load.

The 45 workplace fatalities this year have already exceeded last year’s 37 deaths and is the highest since 2016, when 66 deaths were recorded.

MAN SAYS HIS ‘TOXIC’ FRIENDS IN HIS 20s RUIN HIS LIFE

0

My twenties were supposed to be the best years of my life.

I was young, full of ambition and had the world at my fingertips.

Unfortunately, I made a mistake that cost me dearly. I got involved with the wrong crowd.

I met a group of friends who seemed like the perfect fit for me in my early twenties.

They were cool, popular, and always had a great time. I thought I had found my people and I was eager to join in the fun.

Unfortunately, I didn’t know at the time that this group of friends was bad company.

They engaged in risky behavior, such as drinking, partying, and gambling.

I was hesitant at first, but they were the cool kids, so I decided to go along with it.

What I didn’t realize was that I was slowly destroying my future. I was neglecting my studies, my career, and my personal relationships.

I was too busy having fun with my friends, and I didn’t see the consequences that my actions had.

I eventually realized that I was ruining my life, but it was already too late. I had already wasted my twenties and damaged my reputation.

I was ashamed of what I had done and felt like I had ruined my life.

The worst part of it all was that my friends had no idea what they were doing to me.

They were just trying to have a good time, but it was at the expense of my future. I wanted to tell them what they were doing, but I was too embarrassed to do so.

In the end, I was able to move on with my life, but the damage was done.

My twenties were ruined and I was left with years of regret. I eventually moved away from my old friends and started fresh.

Now, I’m in my thirties and I’m living my life to the fullest. I’ve learned from my mistakes and I’m doing my best to not repeat them.

I’m grateful for the lessons I learned in my twenties, and although they were hard, I’m thankful that I made it through.

COUPLE GOT SCAMMED ON CAROUSELL, LOST THEIR SAVINGS MEANT FOR DAUGHTER WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

0

Facebook user Wak Yan shared how he and his wife lost their savings to a scammer on Carousell, losing their money meant for his daughter with special needs.

Here is what he said

AWARENESS POST

HUMBLE HUSTLE EPIC FAIL

… to what appeared to us as Carousell Pay Protection

Being parents of 5 kids (with one special needs daughter, Husna), my wife Purpley Qim and I are frugal… thus, we are avid CarouSell users.

(… to get good deals on pre-loved items and to liquidate some cash. Yeah.. you get my drift~)

So wifey decided to sell an unused money box for $15. (Cheap² lelong²!!)

After posting it in the morning, she got a message from keen buyer (justniezam) at 6.19pm. So, as usual, she engaged in the conversation in hopes to close the deal ASAP.

(… well it’s just $15.. why waste time right?)

Everything seemed normal.. AND THEN….

user justniezam asked:

“I WANT TO ARRANGE CAROUSELL PROTECTION, IF YOU DON’T MIND, I’LL PAY FIRST!”

Wifey was like, Carousell Pay Protection? That’s new. Our payment terms were usually PayNow or Cash on Delivery. But Carousell Pay Protection? For a $15 item? Wow! This person is a very cautious buyer. Perhaps he was conned before. Kesian…

(… yes, wifey is a pure-hearted angel. Always husnuzhon. Love you, Wifey.)

Well, you know, our experiences with past buyers & sellers had been really good and hassle-free. We have been dealing with honest and reasonable people. Super easy to deal with kind. Everyone was very “sikit-lebih-kurang” (“very reasonable” in Malay). We were complacent this time. We assumed that it’ll all be the same…

… and then it happened…

Justniezam told wifey that he already made payment and in order for her to receive the money, all she has to do is to click on the email link. She gave him my email address so she texted me asking to check if I received it.

(… I was driving with the kiddos at that time ).

When I reached home, wifey told me what happened and so I checked my email. And yes, the email was indeed in my junk mail.

And I, this one big goondoo… DIDN’T VALIDATE AND VERIFY THE EMAIL!!!

(… like how I usually do at work and I’ll never forgive myself for this grave mistake ).

I immediately clicked on the link.

A page appears. It says, something like, “to receive your payment, login to your bank account.” And so I clicked it without thinking.

(… it didn’t occur to me to screenshot that page so I can’t show you guys).

The usual login page of DBS iBanking appeared (so it seemed) and I just logged in.

Next thing, the loading page appears saying

“WAIT. WE ARE WAITING FOR AN ANSWER FROM THE BANK…”

I was like… it’s 7pm, and a Friday evening.. are bankers still working at this hour??

Azan Maghrib was kumandang-ing on our phones… So we didn’t think much of it, put our phones on the table and just went to take ablution and prepared ourselves for evening prayers.

(FYI, my wife was communicating with justniezam on CarouSell message on her phone and I’m on my phone trying to login to the bank.)

Next moment, a chat box appeared on my phone whilst the page was “loading”, it told me to change account.

Told Wifey so Wifey logged in to her account.

OTP page came out on my phone. Wifey said out the number and I punched in those six-digit numbers.

I got irritated with the “latency” and so I told my wife to just put the phone down and to just start praying.

After completing prayers and being spiritually charged, Wifey checked on the bank transaction immediately.

Then….

WIFEY’S FACE CHANGED.

I SENSED HEIGHTENED TENSION IN THE AIR.

My wife said to me in a shaky voice…

“Abanggg… kita dah tak ada duit!! DUIT HUSNA SEMUA HILANGGG!!!”

(Dear… we don’t have any more money! Husna’s savings are gone!!!)

I told my wife to immediately check the transaction.

There, we saw it. We swallowed the bitter reality. We saw the funds were remitted to a lady in Thai Baht currency.

Wifey called DBS bank immediately.

After long verifications and conversations and investigations…

.. the DBS officer finally said those words on loudspeaker:

“MA’AM, WE BELIEVE THAT WAS A SCAM.”

I stopped breathing momentarily and I felt like a huge slap on my face.

Wifey controlled her emotions, tears and voice and followed the instructions given by the DBS officer til the end.

Accounts are frozen.

She took down the officer’s email address.

Went back to Carousell message and called on the scammers bluff.

The final words were:

“What goes around, comes around.

Let God deal with you.”

Scammer’s final words:

“sps.”

Sps? Wth is sps?? At this point, we couldn’t care less what it meant.

And then the account got suspended.

Then a police report was lodged.

“FIT FOR GIFTING” DOLLAR NOTES FOR CHINESE NEW YEAR TO BE AVAILABLE FROM 5 JAN

0

Fit-for-Gifting Notes for Lunar New Year Available from 5 January

Singapore, 27 December 2022… The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) strongly encourage members of the public to use “Fitfor-Gifting” currency notes (Fit notes) or e-hong baos this coming Lunar New Year. These are more environmentally friendly options, as issuing new notes just to meet the demand for festive gifting generates unnecessary carbon emissions and wastes resources.

Fit notes are used currency notes that are generally clean and of suitable quality for recirculation, including for festive gifting. The condition of these notes has been verified by banknote processing machines and are similar in quality to notes from automated teller machines (ATMs).

The public demand for notes for festive gifting is typically in bundles of $2 or $10 denominations, which cannot be easily obtained in the desired quantities from ATMs. To bring greater convenience to the public, DBS, OCBC and UOB will offer online reservation for Fit Notes, in addition to new notes. DBS and UOB will also provide for the withdrawal of Fit notes i.e., $2 and $10 in larger quantities, as well as the $50 denomination, from selected pop-up and branch ATMs.

Customers of DBS, OCBC, UOB (except those aged 60 and above and persons with disabilities) that wish to exchange for either Fit or new notes at bank branches will need to pre-book through the respective bank’s online reservation system. This will minimise the likelihood of over-crowding at bank branches. New notes can also be withdrawn without any prior booking at pop-up ATMs offered by DBS and selected UOB ATMs. Customers of other banks may refer to their bank’s website for details on new and Fit notes exchange. Annex A
provides more information.

The dates for the pre-booking and exchange of Fit and new notes are as follows:

Apart from Fit notes, members of the public are also encouraged to use e-hong baos during this festive period. For the coming Lunar New Year, banks have enhanced their e-hongbao offerings, such as personalisation of e-hong baos. E-hong baos are a simple and speedy way to convey blessings to family and friends via electronic fund transfers.

SON TELLS DAD, ‘YOU DIE I ALSO WON’T COME YOUR FUNERAL WAKE’

0

My father and I have never been close. He left my mother and I when I was only three years old, and never kept in contact with us.

I often wondered why he would abandon us, but I never got a chance to ask him.

As I grew older, I started to resent my father for not being there for me, and for not having the chance to watch me grow up.

It wasn’t until I was in my twenties that I finally had the courage to reach out to my father. I sent him a letter, telling him about my life and asking him why he left us.

Surprisingly, he replied to my letter and we started to communicate through emails.

At first, I thought this would be the beginning of a relationship between us. I was wrong. After a few emails, he stopped replying and I never heard from him again.

I was disappointed that my father was still unwilling to build a relationship with me, but I was determined to not let it affect me.

Years passed and I eventually forgot about my father. But, one day, I received a call from a hospital.

The voice on the other end of the line told me that my father was in the hospital and that he was in critical condition. I was shocked and didn’t know what to do.

At that moment, I felt a wave of emotions: sadness, anger, and guilt. I was sad that my father was in the hospital.

I was angry that he had never tried to build a relationship with me.

In the end, I decided not to go and see him in the hospital.

I told myself that if he died, I would not go to his funeral. I know it sounds harsh, but I felt like that was the only way I could take control of the situation.

The hospital called me a few days later and told me that my father had passed away.

I was sad, but I was not surprised. I was relieved that I had made the decision to not go and see him in the hospital, and I knew it was the right decision for me.

My father’s death brought me some closure. I had accepted that he was never going to be a part of my life, and I was finally able to move on.

MAN GOES TO CASINO UNTIL HE OWES MORE THAN TEN MONEYLENDERS

0

I have a problem. I’m addicted to gambling. It all started with a few friendly games of poker playing with friends.

I thought it was fun and exciting, and I quickly became addicted.

I soon found myself visiting the local casino every night. I would play blackjack, roulette, and slots. I was able to win some money here and there, but I would always end up losing more than I won.

I tried to stop myself, but I couldn’t. It was like a compulsion.

I started borrowing money from friends and family in order to gamble. I was able to pay them back when I won, but that didn’t happen very often.

I soon started borrowing from loan sharks and money lenders. It was easy to get the money, but hard to pay it back.

I kept borrowing more and more money, until I had borrowed from more than ten different money lenders.

The interest rates were high and the repayment terms were strict. I was in way over my head, and I had no idea how I was going to pay them back.

I had to do something, so I decided to take out a loan from a bank. I was able to get a loan that was large enough to pay off all the money I had borrowed from the loan sharks and money lenders.

I was relieved, but I knew that I needed to stop gambling.

I was able to stay away from the casino for a few months, but it wasn’t long before I was back. I had to fight the urge every day, but I couldn’t do it.

I was eventually banned from the casino for not being able to control myself.

I had hit rock bottom. I had lost all my money and I was in debt to more than ten money lenders.

I was ashamed and embarrassed, and had no hope in life.

MAN DESPISED HIS 34 Y.O BROTHER WHO IS JOBLESS AND BEHAVE LIKE A SPOILED BRAT

0

Despise my brother

I really despise my brother. Everytime i see him, i will mutter ‘useless’ under my breath.

He doesnt hold a proper job despite graduating with a degree. He only picked up skills for odd jobs after my dad taught him.

He would rather spend his time at home and watching k-dramas and work only when needed. I cant wait to move out from the house when i am 35 years old and cant away from the negativity and sight of him.

He orders my mom around and scolds her when he doesnt get his way. He will also curse at me when he is angry. Im not talking about a 15 year old teen, this is a 34 year old acting like a teen. I think it all stems from poor parenting, but even then, shdnt we learn the ropes of life from others as well?

I somehow picked up social norms & proper etiquette from my colleagues and friends, even though i am not taught or exposed to it at home. Initially when my dad asked him to work with him doing odd jobs after many months of unemployment, he ranted that he rather go NS than to work.

I hvent spoken to him since my JC days, which is more than a decade.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Yeah then once he become super successful and you will eat salt. Don’t look down on anyone especially if own siblings hurt even more.
  • You can teach a stupid person but you cannot teach a lazy person
  • Sometimes children turned out the way they are because of parents, the more they pamper the child, the more useless the child become
  • I know of someone who still doesn’t work at 35. Just living off his mum and doing nothing everyday. You realise these people are usually the favoured child during childhood. They become spoilt and entitled, while siblings resent them.

Parking at peripheral roads and stopping of vehicles along ECP (Benjamin Sheares Bridge) to watch the fireworks are strictly prohibited. Enforcement action will be taken against errant motorists and parked vehicles which cause obstruction will be towed.

Post-Event Dispersal

After the event, the dispersal is likely to be slow due to the large crowds. There will be designated routes out of the Marina Bay, including the area closures, to facilitate safe and orderly dispersal. Signages will be put up to guide members of the public on the route to be taken for dispersal. Crowd flow into the train stations will also be regulated to prevent overcrowding within the stations. Members of the public are advised to be patient and cooperate with security personnel. We seek the public’s understanding that heavy traffic and delays are to be expected.

While the Police have put in place enhanced security measures, everyone has a critical role to play in ensuring the safety and security of Singapore.

MAN’S GF KEEP ASKING FOR MONEY, HE GIVES HER ‘HELL’ NOTES

0

I have been in a relationship with my girlfriend, S for about three years.

We had our ups and downs but everything was still going decently well, we loved each other and we enjoyed our time together.

Recently, I feel that she have been treating me as a cash cow.

She has been asking money from me every now and then for all sorts of reasons.

First she asked me for money for a bag, then she asked me for money for a new iPhone 14.

The amount that she asked has always been in the $2,000 to $3,000 region.

Recently, it got worst as she have been frequenting the casinos and have been asking me for $5,000 to $10,000 at one go.

I tried to talk to her about being more prudent in managing her finances and she would always hurriedly brush me off with an ‘okay’ or ‘ya ya i know’ reply.

As if asking for money like this is all enough.

Recently, she has been telling me that she wants to get a Mini Cooper and wants me to down pay a 70% for her.

She really thought that I am printing money.

However, instead of rejecting her, I told her that I would send the money to her in an envelope that very night.

I even told her that I would pay the full amount for her.

Upon hearing it, she was elated and hugged and kissed me.

I had other plans in mind though.

I went to a shop nearby my place which sells joss paper products and bought a ton of ‘hell’ notes.

I stuffed them into a big brown paper envelop and put a lighter in it.

Inside the envelope, I also made sure to include a note which gave her instructions to burn the notes and use it in her afterlife.

Needless to say, we broke up shortly after.
