30 Y.O MAN PUNCHED TAXI DRIVER IN THE HEAD WHILE FRIEND CHOKED HIM, JAILED

0

30-year-old Koh Liang Cai pleaded guilty to voluntarily causing hurt to 44-year-old taxi driver Bernard Chan and was sentenced to 4 weeks imprisonment on 10 October, according to The Straits Times.

He had attacked a ComfortDelGro taxi driver on 1 January 2020 after a drinking session at Zouk with 31-year-old Taleb Kishen and the latter’s wife.

Taleb was sentenced to 17 weeks imprisonment for his part in the assault and other offences.

What happened?

Koh was with his friend, 31-year-old Taleb Kishen, and the latter’s wife at Zouk; where they finished drinking at about 2.30am.

Koh saw Chan’s taxi nearby, where the taxi driver was hoping to get a phone booking for his taxi because it meant he would earn more money.

Koh and Taleb approached Chan and asked him if he could taxi his wife home, and Chan rejected them and told them to try getting a taxi from the taxi stand at Clarke Quay.

Koh then reached through the front passenger seat window and punched Chan in his left eye. Taleb then went over to the driver’s seat window and held Chan down as Koh punched him in the head.

Talen also joined in and punched Chan repeatedly near his right eye and his nose before choking the victim.

At about 3.50am, police officers who were nearby at the time witnessed the assault and went over to the fracas, before Taleb then stopped choking the victim – Koh had already left the scene by the time the police went over.

M’SIA POLITICIAN SAYS S’POREANS WILL FLOCK TO M’SIA TO WORK IF HIS PARTY WINS

Nga Kor Ming, a Malaysian politician from the Pakatan Harapan party, was speaking during a rally ahead of Malaysia’s general election and said that Singaporeans will be the ones seeking jobs in Malaysia instead, if his party wins, according to Malaysiakini.

He was speaking on 27 October at a fundraiser in Muar, saying that his party will help boost the country’s economy if they are voted in.

He made the claim that his party will improve the country’s economy so much that Singaporeans will go to Malaysia for jobs.

Nga said that he had faith in Anwar Ibrahim, his party’s chairman, and that the latter can solve Malaysia’s financial problems.

He also mentioned that foreign investors have since lost faith in the current Malaysian leadership and added that the trust will be further strained if Barisan Nasional wins.

On the falling value of the Malaysian Ringgit, Nga said that if it continues, the Malaysian youths will be forced to work in Singapore, having to wake up at 5am to cross the customs into Singapore to work and only returning at night.

WOMAN ORDERED $12 STARBUCKS DRINK VIA GRAB, ONLY RECEIVED 1/3 OF THE DRINK

0

Facebook user Xue Ni shared how she paid $12 for a Starbucks drink via GrabFood and when she received it, there was only one-third of the drink left.

She added that she only managed to get a refund of $7.90, instead of the $12 that she paid for it.

Here is what she said

First time I encountered grab delivery when received the drinks only 1/3 drinks portion left when reached. Send to ask grab they only refunded 7.90, the total is 12 plus. They refund based on 2/3 of the drinks spill? Now I have to made another drink for my team.

Netizens’ comments

  • You don’t order drinks and get riders to deliver them. It’s a risk that you were willing to take.
  • Please understand. Delivery riders do not purposely want to deliver drinks like this. This is because of lousy and brainless packaging. They deliver via cycling on pavement. For this, walkers can do the job. They will hold by hand.
  • Xue ni, imagine delivery rider has to deliver many packets alone. Definitely they will put in thermal bag. For walkers who put drinks in thermal bag, the outcome is same as cyclists cycle on pedestrian path.
  • Wow! One cup for ur team? Sharing isit? So sweet? Funny… hahahaha!!
  • Very suspicious… if 2/3 of the drink spill, the bottom of the paper bag would have torn. Unless the rider drink ?
  • Cos now Grab needs to break even (by 2024?). Apparently they value their merchant partners more than customers.

MAID POSTS PHOTOS OF HERSELF WEARING EMPLOYER’S CLOTHES ONLINE WITHOUT PERMISSION

An employer posted on the FDW in Singapore (working conditions forum) on Facebook saying that her maid was found taking her clothes to wear and posting pictures of it on social media.

Here is what she said

Hi I would like to ask fellow employers/foreign helpers what to do and your views if helper is found to take your clothes and wear to take pictures and post online.

It is clothes that are in my personal wardrobe. Thanks in advance.

Netizens’ comments

  • Have a good conversation with her madam.. although you might be feeling angry now but try to speak to her setting aside your emotion so you can both really talk properly.. letting her know you are aware of what she is doing and that you doesn’t want it… She might have a reason in doing so either acceptable or not but just try to listen to her 1st and decided afterwards if you still want to give her a chance or not…
Not saying anything she might misunderstood that what she was doing was ok.
I am a helper myself but I cannot just say here and scold her because everyone have a different upbringings maybe in how she grow up trying she doesn’t owned was normal to her that’s why you need to set the rule if that is so. I don’t believe that labeling her as bad or evil because of that mistake is the right thing to do either without even knowing who she really was that is why an open conversation is the best way here madam not confrontation (because confrontation is talking with all the emotions you have and it doesn’t really end the best way and we might become someone that we really are not if we let our emotion rule over us)…
Hoping all the best for you madam and to your family
  • She know but she want to show off in social media. Meaning she lost her boundaries, this is not right thing to do. Should talk to her and ask why and how she did that to you as her employer.
  • For me it’s a big no. I’m a helper and I won’t do that unless my employer give me that clothes then I wear.
  • Oh no thats too bad.Change helper right away maam.Thats not a good helper she doesnt know her limitations and dont know how to respect.I been in Singapore for 9 years long but never did that to any of my employer. For personal hygiene as well.Unless you give it to me quite new.If some employers are fussy some helpers are fussy too

MAN COULDN’T ENTER CLOUD FOREST DUE TO “PRIVATE EVENT”, TICKETS END UP VOIDED

0

Facebook user Tariq Tariq shared how he bought tickets for the “Avatar Experience” at the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest.

He went to the flower dome first because they didn’t know where to go, before heading to the cloud forest but it was closed because of a private event, and his tickets was then voided because he entered the flower dome first.

Here is what he said

Horrible experience on the first day of opening of Avatar Experience. We had a tickets for flower dome and the cloud forest. Since we didn’t really know where to enter we went to the flower dome first but then realized this is not the Avatar part. We spent there 10min and went to cloud forest but on our surprise it was closed for public due to private event.

Hello?? It was 5.30PM and there was no prior warning from the staff at flower dome. The management could tell to the staff at the entrance to inform the visitors about this event! Also doing private event of the first opening days is a horrible idea tbh. Do it day before gosh!

What makes things worse, since we entered the flower dome, our tickets are automatically void and can’t be used on the other days.

The booking was through the Klook and we need to go through a long process to get the new ticket or a refund, if any!!

Staff at the entrance was swarmed with other guests with the same issues and the staff just didn’t have a proper answer.

Totally disappointed in such a poor management decisions!

GUY JUST BOUGHT A NEW CAR, 15 MINUTES AFTER PARKING KENA SCRATCHED ALREADY

0

Brand new car got chipped right away at sheltered Hdb carpark. Would u confront the perpetrator?

Hey all, collected our brand new car about a month ago, drove it back home, parked below our Hdb, and our paint got a chip in it just less than 15 mins of being freshly parked.

We know which car and who it was that did it, because when we going up happened to meet into the lady who was the owner of the car parked next to us, we saw her get into her car, was rough with opening the door and her door caused a chip on our paint.

Friend was telling me I should let her know and tell her to be more considerate to others, and also just to let her know we are on to her and know what she did. I’m non confrontational and not sure if I can do that or how to open with it. If it happened to you would you choose to confront?

It is entirely possible to be considerate to others. I always hold my hand on the door so that my hand contacts the car beside first before the door and I make sure no contacts with the cars beside us. I always do this since young.

I also noticed others when parked beside us, sometimes they don’t know I’m the owner, I see them taking care to open their doors so they don’t damage the cars beside them. So I don’t think it’s a tall task to expect people be more considerate on this, that’s all.
