EMPLOYEE GOT NEW JOB OFFER BUT SCARED TO RESIGN, NERVOUS ABOUT BEING DISRESPECTFUL

0

resignation letter to boss

i’m a local and i’m working at a small company, i recently got a new job offer and now gonna tender my resignation letter to my boss.

all of my old companies has HR that i could email to but this company, i’m working under my boss. he’s the one who interviewed me and he’s the one that pay us. we have no HR at all and anyone doing payroll.

i wonder if should be respectful to send him the letter by hand or just email him.. need help. i also have social anxiety, so facing people sometimes makes me nervous.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Email and bcc your personal email so you have evidence you tendered.
  2. If this boss is someone you respect, just tell him you need to talk to him in private and then explain to him you are about to resign as you have a better offer.
Any boss that takes care of his staff would enquire if this is due to any push or pull reasons. The conversation could begin there and you could then send a email to confirm the resignation.
  3. In terms of notification of your last day, email would suffice. In it, you state your last working day.
In terms of formality (and maybe respect), you can do it by hand. But you should do it discreetly. Like ask to meet or talk in the meeting room for awhile with the letter in between your files or laptop. This is so that you don’t let other employees see your intent to leave.

TODDLER CAME HOME WITH BRUISES, PRESCHOOL ACCUSES CHILD OF SCRATCHING TEACHER

0

Facebook user 蔡霖嘉 said that her child was allegedly mistreated at a preschool, and the school is in turn accusing her child of scratching a teacher.

She wanted to withdraw her toddler from the preschool, but the school allegedly told her to serve a one month notice of their deposit will be forfeited.

Here is what she said

*Child’s name redacted* came home after school with bruises everywhere.

It was the 3rd time. *preschool name redacted* didn’t inform us about the bruises until we showered her and discovered it.

The principal of the school said they presumed it was an old bruises mark. There was no bruises before she went to school.

Furthermore, she was wearing long pants in school daily. It was an irresponsible remarks and we were very disappointed with the school.

Police investigation are ongoing and we cannot tolerate child mistreatment, if it was bruises done by any of the teachers, we will pursue it further.

After this incident, school would still required us to continues serve a 1 month notice to withdrawing from the school, if not they will forfeited our deposit.

They also accused my girl for scratched the Teacher hand. Very unprofessional.

My girl is in PG group ( 20 months old only.)

HERO BUS DRIVER STOPS BUS TO SAVE VICTIMS FROM CAR ACCIDENT WRECKAGE @ TANGLIN

0

An SBS Transit bus driver reportedly stopped his bus to save 3 people from a wreckage after the latter got into an accident, with smoke emerging from the crashed vehicles, according to Shin Min Daily News.

The accident involved a car and a van that were both badly damaged – the car was being driven by a 50-year-old PHV driver who was driving a passenger at the time, while a 27-year-old man was behind the wheel in the van.

The bus captain, 33-year-old Luo Kang Hao of SBS Transit bus service 132, was driving along the route at the time when he stopped the bus at the junction of Chatsworth Road and Tanglin Road on 23 October at about 12am.

He then saw smoke billowing from the wreckage and saw people inside the crashed vehicles, and he then stopped his bus because he feared the wreckage would burst into flames.

He then ran towards the wreckage to save the victims, rendering aid to the car driver and passenger and freeing the van driver who was trapped inside.

He said that the car’s front door was jammed, and he had to lower the driver’s seat and told him to climb towards the back to escape the car from the back door.

Two passengers from Luo’s bus also alighted to help him rescue the victims.

Luo then returned to his bus to tell the bus operations control centre to call for an ambulance, and the victims were then all conveyed to SGH conscious by the SCDF.

Investigations into the investigations are underway.

A spokesperson for SBS Transit commended Luo for his bravery and selflessness, going out of his way to save those in peril.

WOMAN WANTS TO LEAVE HER HUSBAND BECAUSE HE KEEPS FARTING IN PUBLIC

0

I’m thinking of leaving my husband due to him constantly farting in public.

My husband (let’s just call him Frotan) thinks he’s hilarious. He’s not. Whenever we go out, be it to a restaurant or the shops or absolutely anywhere, he will fart loudly and smirk or outright laugh. These aren’t normal farts, mind you.

They’re loud splurts, they’re wet, they’re squelchy, they’re toxic, and they they reek like just risen from hell itself.

People look at us, they avoid us, they judge us. I’m pretty certain there are friends of ours who no longer hang out with us due to the farting issue.

My husband doesn’t have a medical condition exactly, apart from a bit of lactose and glucose intolerance, but he does go out of his way to eat trigger food such as sour cream and milk and sourdough bread so he can fart the best he can.

Lately it’s come to a head though. I’ve noticed he is smelling like rank fart for a long time after the farts have passed. I do all the washing in the house as I’m not the bread winner and I’ve started to notice a clear jelly like residual substance in his underpants that smells like curdled turds.

Google tells me this is mucus. This has been going on for about two weeks now, and sometimes the fecal jelly ranges in consistence and is closer to looking like a brown poo paste similar to Nutella. So he has evolved from just farting to actually splurting turd goo and pooing his pants.

He still finds it funny, and he won’t stop. I told him it’s not normal for a man in his 40’s to poo his pants on the daily and he laughed at me and hand waved away the issue.

I’m mortified by his behaviour and embarrassed to be around him. I’m genuinely thinking about divorce, as he’s a disgusting embarrassment and I don’t want to be with someone whose idea of a joke is to loudly fill his pants with gut butter turds.

CHINA IN CRISIS – WUHAN LOCKED DOWN AGAIN, LOCALS SAY “WE’RE NUMB TO IT ALL”

0

Numerous cities in China have been locked down yet again, including Wuhan, as China continues to pursue president Xi Jinping’s goal of zero-Covid-19.

More than 800,000 people in the city of Wuhan have been made to remain inside their homes until 30 October, with one local telling Reuters that “we feel numb to it all, we feel more and more numb.”

About 200 lockdowns have been enacted in communities that the Chinese government deems at “high” or “medium risk”.

In-person dining in at restaurants and attendance at school have been suspended earlier in the week, as China reported a 3rd straight day of more than 1,000 cases.

In comparison to China’s population, the cases represent a microscopical minority and outsiders would deem it as a small outbreak, but China is adhering strictly to their zero-Covid policy.

Reuters reported that 28 cities across China have been locked down to varying degrees, with about 207 million people being affected.

As such, China’s economy is collapsing, with its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) falling by 2.6%, as the public grows increasingly fatigued and angered by the repeated, continuous lockdowns and restrictions.

Xi said earlier this month that they will not be easing up on his zero-Covid-19 policy, and called it “the people’s war” to stop the virus.

MAN’S TOILET BOWL CHOKED, PLUMBER FIXED IT IN 5 MINUTES THEN CHARGED $100

0

Facebook user Matthew Zachary Liu shared that his toilet bowl choked and it wouldn’t flush anything down, and he eventually called for a plumber after his Google searches for solutions turned up with nothing.

The plumber solved his problem in 5 minutes and Liu was then charged $100, and he said that he doesn’t know “whether to laugh or cry”.

Here is what he said

So my toilet bowl choked.

It wouldn’t flush anything down and kept threatening to overflow instead.

First thing I did as I guess most people would.. I went to consult google.

“How to fix a choked toilet bowl”

And I tried literally whatever suggestions they gave.

Pour hot water.

Pour liquid to loosen whatever may be stuck below.

Pump the damn hole.

I even attempted to dismantle the whole toilet bowl.

At this point, I’d either get a broken shit throne or a flooded toilet.

So I called for professional help instead.

Plumber came, used his tools, poked the hole five times, flushed twice.. problem solved.

In 5 minutes.

And he billed me $100.

I swear, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

But that’s how it is.. we can spend time making (or learning from) our own mistakes / google or we can hire experts to solve the problems for us but it’s always going to come at a price.

Because with professionals, whether a plumber, photographer, doctor or basically whatever.. we’re not simply “paying for their time”, we’re paying them a premium because they have the experience, skill, solution to serve or solve whatever we may be seeking.

If they can do it in 5 minutes, it’s because they are damn good at what they do and deserve whatever they charge.

That’s valuable.

CINEMA OFFERING UNLIMITED POPCORN FOR FREE, MOVIEGOERS BRING BUCKETS TO FILL UP

0

A cinema in Vietnam held a special promotion offering unlimited free popcorn to moviegoers where they can fit as much popcorn as they want inside their own containers.

But the cinema didn’t specify on what type of containers moviegoers could use, so the patrons brought buckets, pots and basins to fill up on the free popcorn.

The promotion was held by Lotte Cinema in Vietnam, with the offer starting on 25 October.

They shared the details of their “Popcorn Beast” promotion on Facebook, with moviegoers who buy a movie ticket to any of their 34 theatres being entitled to the unlimited free popcorn.

They can bring any container that they want, so long as it is clean and they are consuming it for themselves – plastic bags and cartons were not allowed in order to not waste food.

And the promotion, unfortunately, only applies to the first 500 customers.

And the customer didn’t disappoint, one man brought a huge cooking pot, while another carried a whole rice cooker to the cinema to hold the popcorn.

Another customer used a Spider-Man bag to fill with popcorn.

DRIVER CRASHED INTO CONSTRUCTION BARRIER AND WENT AIRBORNE @ ALEXANDRA RD

0

A video emerged online showing an accident along Alexandra Road where a car driving at a high speed crashed into a row of construction barriers.

The accident took place on 27 October at about 11.25am, and ended up with one person being conveyed to the hospital.

The car was seen in the video crashing head-on into the row of construction barriers and shattering them on impact, with pieces of the barriers being flown across the road.

The car ultimately stopped after crashing into an excavator that was parked at the side, with the rear of the car going airborne.

A motorcycle that was passing by at the time was stopped abruptly because of one of the construction barriers landed right in front of him, almost falling over.

The motorcyclist then got off his bike and went over to check on the occupants of the crashed car, and an ambulance was later seen arriving.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed the accident, saying that they were alerted to the accident that took place on 27 October at about 11.20am at Alexandra Road.

One person was sent to National University Hospital as a result.

‘CUSTOMER NOT ALWAYS RIGHT’, PROMOTER VENTS FRUSTRATION AFTER GETTING SCOLDED BY CUSTOMERS

0

‘Customer Always Right’

This is a word that is glorified by customers when faced with a conflict with a salesperson.

I can say this is their main weapon to break the seller’s argument when faced with a problem regarding the purchased product.

I used to be a promoter, but not anymore. It’s been two months since I moved to another department and worked behind the scenes even though the salary was not as much as when I was a promoter.

Indeed, a job that involves human affairs is a difficult job that can lead to mental stress.

I’ve been wanting to make this confession for a long time, but it’s always delayed. Today, one of the promoters in my company was insulted and scolded by a customer. The customer’s voice echoed into the office.

And that’s why I’m writing today.

Dear customers, I’m sure everyone reading this is a customer including me.

Please plant in your head that the job of a promoter is to sell. In addition to selling, he also provides knowledge and explanations about a product. There may be promoters who don’t have knowledge, but there are many who have knowledge.

Most companies now provide classes and guidance to their salespeople, especially for new products.

Never look down on promoters, because not all promoters are poorly educated. Many of them have high qualifications and they have their own reasons for choosing this job.

The customer has to remember, not the salesperson who makes a product. All products are from the factory, sent to the supplier or dealer and then sent to the store. Before the promoter opened the box, he didn’t even know what was in the box.

Have to remember, in 10 products there may be one that is damaged. Maybe one is defective.

Not a single salesperson wants to sell a damaged product to a customer. Because of the consequences, the seller is still responsible.

When you buy, the seller does not open the box in front of you, does not test the item in front of you, you do have the right not to pay. But if you yourself don’t want to test it, when you return it suddenly it’s broken, it’s not the seller’s fault.

It’s the same if he has opened it, shows you A to Z about the product and when the product is in the store there is no problem, it’s not the seller’s fault.

He has done his duty well. And when he explains about the product, you have the right to ask him 1001 questions that you don’t know or are confused about.

If the product is damaged at home, please plant it near your head. It’s not the seller’s fault, especially if you’ve been using it for more than a month. Maybe the product has a problem, but the problem appears within a certain period of time after use.

As long as there is a warranty, you do have the right to claim at the store. But remember, not all warranties are fully covered by the store.

There is also a warranty that is borne by the service center, usually large companies have their own service center.

And the warranty also has certain conditions. One thing, the technician is not stupid to judge that the damage comes from the store or the customer. It’s not just your product that has a problem, he has dealt with hundreds of products.

When you take it to the store, please don’t curse the seller. As I said earlier, he himself did not know that the product was problematic.

Out of 10 customers, you might be the unlucky one. It rarely happens, but there are indeed some customers who like to come recklessly and continue to curse the seller in the store.

There is a good seller, he accepts your item back even though the item is under the responsibility of the service center. He himself will deal with the service center.

I just want to say one thing, be grateful. Be grateful that he helped you. Maybe he feels responsible because he is the one who sells the product.

Don’t force the seller to exchange new items or ask for a full refund. Remember, the seller is not a toupee who can take the company’s money at will or hand over new items to you. Same with the store manager, he’s not a tofu.

That’s why the warranty is provided by the store for cases like this. To request a full refund or 1 to 1 replacement from the company, the manager or seller must answer 1001 questions from the superior. Not everyone is lucky enough to have an angelic superior.

Remember, they only have a normal salary. Sometimes the things you buy are more expensive than their salary. Not all graduates are lucky, only graduates can achieve their goals. Many struggles and many run away. Many, too many.

As for the warranty, this happens a lot in my company. When sending the warranty, the customer is usually okay, still chill.

But if you have to wait a long time, start making a fuss near the store. Usually, customers who are too lazy to go to the service center themselves like to do this.

EMPLOYEE GOT TOUCHED BY 60 Y.O BOSS, THINKING WHAT SHOULD SHE DO

0

Today i was sitting by my desk working when my boss (m/60) showed up.

I had some questions, and instead of giving me a simple answer to the things im asking about, he starts mansplaining to me really simple stuff. Like a toddler would understand this.

And not enough with that. Imagine im sitting by my desk holding my pc mouse with my right hand, he just puts his whole arm over mine and has it lying there while continuing to mansplain.

It was a part of his demonstration. For like I wouldnt know what a water hose blocking a door means. This whole time I was silently sitting and waiting and thinking wtf is going on. I could feel the warmth of his hairy arm and that made me feel sick.

Im so pissed at my self right now for allowing it to happen. But right there in that moment, I just froze. Im scared that he is checking my boundries. We are going on a work trip in few weeks and that gives me a bit of anxiety.

Should I quit my job now?

But it is unclear if he will take it a step further, if he does its too late. But at the same time I just can’t quit my job right now as I still need to survive.

This sounds like pushing me towards the 1st step of doing something I hate for money, as wrong as it sounds it is what I’m feeling.

If I make a complaint about it I will definitely lose my income.

What should I do?
