CINEMA OFFERING UNLIMITED POPCORN FOR FREE, MOVIEGOERS BRING BUCKETS TO FILL UP

0

A cinema in Vietnam held a special promotion offering unlimited free popcorn to moviegoers where they can fit as much popcorn as they want inside their own containers.

But the cinema didn’t specify on what type of containers moviegoers could use, so the patrons brought buckets, pots and basins to fill up on the free popcorn.

The promotion was held by Lotte Cinema in Vietnam, with the offer starting on 25 October.

They shared the details of their “Popcorn Beast” promotion on Facebook, with moviegoers who buy a movie ticket to any of their 34 theatres being entitled to the unlimited free popcorn.

They can bring any container that they want, so long as it is clean and they are consuming it for themselves – plastic bags and cartons were not allowed in order to not waste food.

And the promotion, unfortunately, only applies to the first 500 customers.

And the customer didn’t disappoint, one man brought a huge cooking pot, while another carried a whole rice cooker to the cinema to hold the popcorn.

Another customer used a Spider-Man bag to fill with popcorn.

DRIVER CRASHED INTO CONSTRUCTION BARRIER AND WENT AIRBORNE @ ALEXANDRA RD

0

A video emerged online showing an accident along Alexandra Road where a car driving at a high speed crashed into a row of construction barriers.

The accident took place on 27 October at about 11.25am, and ended up with one person being conveyed to the hospital.

The car was seen in the video crashing head-on into the row of construction barriers and shattering them on impact, with pieces of the barriers being flown across the road.

The car ultimately stopped after crashing into an excavator that was parked at the side, with the rear of the car going airborne.

A motorcycle that was passing by at the time was stopped abruptly because of one of the construction barriers landed right in front of him, almost falling over.

The motorcyclist then got off his bike and went over to check on the occupants of the crashed car, and an ambulance was later seen arriving.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed the accident, saying that they were alerted to the accident that took place on 27 October at about 11.20am at Alexandra Road.

One person was sent to National University Hospital as a result.

‘CUSTOMER NOT ALWAYS RIGHT’, PROMOTER VENTS FRUSTRATION AFTER GETTING SCOLDED BY CUSTOMERS

0

‘Customer Always Right’

This is a word that is glorified by customers when faced with a conflict with a salesperson.

I can say this is their main weapon to break the seller’s argument when faced with a problem regarding the purchased product.

I used to be a promoter, but not anymore. It’s been two months since I moved to another department and worked behind the scenes even though the salary was not as much as when I was a promoter.

Indeed, a job that involves human affairs is a difficult job that can lead to mental stress.

I’ve been wanting to make this confession for a long time, but it’s always delayed. Today, one of the promoters in my company was insulted and scolded by a customer. The customer’s voice echoed into the office.

And that’s why I’m writing today.

Dear customers, I’m sure everyone reading this is a customer including me.

Please plant in your head that the job of a promoter is to sell. In addition to selling, he also provides knowledge and explanations about a product. There may be promoters who don’t have knowledge, but there are many who have knowledge.

Most companies now provide classes and guidance to their salespeople, especially for new products.

Never look down on promoters, because not all promoters are poorly educated. Many of them have high qualifications and they have their own reasons for choosing this job.

The customer has to remember, not the salesperson who makes a product. All products are from the factory, sent to the supplier or dealer and then sent to the store. Before the promoter opened the box, he didn’t even know what was in the box.

Have to remember, in 10 products there may be one that is damaged. Maybe one is defective.

Not a single salesperson wants to sell a damaged product to a customer. Because of the consequences, the seller is still responsible.

When you buy, the seller does not open the box in front of you, does not test the item in front of you, you do have the right not to pay. But if you yourself don’t want to test it, when you return it suddenly it’s broken, it’s not the seller’s fault.

It’s the same if he has opened it, shows you A to Z about the product and when the product is in the store there is no problem, it’s not the seller’s fault.

He has done his duty well. And when he explains about the product, you have the right to ask him 1001 questions that you don’t know or are confused about.

If the product is damaged at home, please plant it near your head. It’s not the seller’s fault, especially if you’ve been using it for more than a month. Maybe the product has a problem, but the problem appears within a certain period of time after use.

As long as there is a warranty, you do have the right to claim at the store. But remember, not all warranties are fully covered by the store.

There is also a warranty that is borne by the service center, usually large companies have their own service center.

And the warranty also has certain conditions. One thing, the technician is not stupid to judge that the damage comes from the store or the customer. It’s not just your product that has a problem, he has dealt with hundreds of products.

When you take it to the store, please don’t curse the seller. As I said earlier, he himself did not know that the product was problematic.

Out of 10 customers, you might be the unlucky one. It rarely happens, but there are indeed some customers who like to come recklessly and continue to curse the seller in the store.

There is a good seller, he accepts your item back even though the item is under the responsibility of the service center. He himself will deal with the service center.

I just want to say one thing, be grateful. Be grateful that he helped you. Maybe he feels responsible because he is the one who sells the product.

Don’t force the seller to exchange new items or ask for a full refund. Remember, the seller is not a toupee who can take the company’s money at will or hand over new items to you. Same with the store manager, he’s not a tofu.

That’s why the warranty is provided by the store for cases like this. To request a full refund or 1 to 1 replacement from the company, the manager or seller must answer 1001 questions from the superior. Not everyone is lucky enough to have an angelic superior.

Remember, they only have a normal salary. Sometimes the things you buy are more expensive than their salary. Not all graduates are lucky, only graduates can achieve their goals. Many struggles and many run away. Many, too many.

As for the warranty, this happens a lot in my company. When sending the warranty, the customer is usually okay, still chill.

But if you have to wait a long time, start making a fuss near the store. Usually, customers who are too lazy to go to the service center themselves like to do this.

EMPLOYEE GOT TOUCHED BY 60 Y.O BOSS, THINKING WHAT SHOULD SHE DO

0

Today i was sitting by my desk working when my boss (m/60) showed up.

I had some questions, and instead of giving me a simple answer to the things im asking about, he starts mansplaining to me really simple stuff. Like a toddler would understand this.

And not enough with that. Imagine im sitting by my desk holding my pc mouse with my right hand, he just puts his whole arm over mine and has it lying there while continuing to mansplain.

It was a part of his demonstration. For like I wouldnt know what a water hose blocking a door means. This whole time I was silently sitting and waiting and thinking wtf is going on. I could feel the warmth of his hairy arm and that made me feel sick.

Im so pissed at my self right now for allowing it to happen. But right there in that moment, I just froze. Im scared that he is checking my boundries. We are going on a work trip in few weeks and that gives me a bit of anxiety.

Should I quit my job now?

But it is unclear if he will take it a step further, if he does its too late. But at the same time I just can’t quit my job right now as I still need to survive.

This sounds like pushing me towards the 1st step of doing something I hate for money, as wrong as it sounds it is what I’m feeling.

If I make a complaint about it I will definitely lose my income.

What should I do?

According to the police, the bar primarily served Chinese customers and lacked a license. The pub had a variety of recreational substances and gambling establishments.

MAN SUMS UP HOW MANY BUSINESS OWNERS FAIL WITH “CHICKEN RICE” STORY

0

Part 1 of the story.

Once a upon a time, there was a very large chicken rice shop.

Despite selling delicious chicken rice, the chicken rice shop never made any profit since the start of the opening. In fact, the start up capital is supplied by chicken rice fanatics that wanted to revolutionize the chicken rice business.

Armed with so much cash, the bosses of the chicken rice shop started to expand to other businesses like selling random provisions and even started to do unrelated businesses. Also, learning from their experiences working in bigger chicken rice shops overseas, they started to rear their chickens, grow their rice and even insisted of building a slaughterhouse.

Since almost everything is done in-house, the bosses have to hire top chicken rice workers. Bosses started to give high salaries to attract fresh chicken rice workers from the chicken rice vocation institutes. The chicken rice shop became one of the top chicken rice employers.

With so many chicken rice enthusiasts applying, the bosses started to set almost impossible tasks for the interviewee, such as slaughtering a chicken without using imported knives in 30 minutes or cooking chicken without a stove. So many of the chicken rice enthusiast has to train in the forest, sometimes paying to paid trainers to help them get skills that probably will be irrelevant in a chicken rice shop that has good chicken processes.

So for a few years, the business is growing fast as they give chicken rice vouchers to consumers and got chicken rice influencers to dance in front of the consumers.

The number of chicken rice employee also increased. Loss is mounting, but the bosses assured that as long as they can capture market share, they can just price out the other chicken rice shops. Let’s be honest, this chicken rice does end to end including answering of customer complaints and making sure your chicken rice is delivered in an timely manner.

But with greater uncertainty over the economy, it is clear that investors money is drying up. They have to start making money and save on cash. So some of the less important chicken rice employee (such as identifying and recommending the type of chicken rice that a customer should buy based on their mood) are let go with an handsome sum of severance. Most of them found jobs in other chicken rice shops or in other F&B industry.

GIRL THINKS SHE GOT “CONNED” BY FAMOUS LOCAL SKINCARE SALON

0

BIG BRAND CONMAN SKINCARE PLACE

context: i was looking for facial treatments online, and found a trial promo for a hydrating facial that was around 15% of the original price.

it was by a big local brand that uses local artiste as ambassador and i rmb seeing their ads on tv local channel regularly many years ago when i was a kid (i stopped watching local channels since many years ago too so idk if they still running ads on tv).

before booking an apt, i checked their google reviews for various outlets, naturally i looked at reviews starting from most recent, all were v good! given the big long-standing branding n good online reviews, i booked an apt. the facial was rly bad, my skin is actly v good (im 20 n take good care of it, i just wanted to treat myself to an occasional facial). it’s been days after the facial, and IM BREAKING OUT n my skin is so itchy.

I suspect either their tools were dirty or beautician didnt do extraction properly so its causing some aftermath. perhaps they purposely made my skin bad so they could keep me going for their treatments??

anyways, after the breakout, i started researching online even more, instead of starting their google reviews from most recent, i used the start from “lowest” function. oh god, that was where i found their “real” reviews! people were voicing the same experiences as me (unethical and aggressive hardsell, post-facial breakout, non-effectiveness of treatment, bullying by consultants, etc.) i then realised the numerous 5star reviews for all outlets were written by users with only 1 or 2 reviews! is the same thing for their sister brands under same big company. im a student (u can obviously tell from my looks n i told them also), when they wanted me to sign a package of few hundred dollars, they constantly pushed this pay-in-instalments app called “Atome”…. basically, their msg is: if cant pay in full now, just sign package, pay in instalments! i was reading their google reviews, another student echoed how when she said she has no xtra $ cuz a student, salesperson were asking her to use her pocket money! (we’re talking few hundred dollars here, hello students get allowance to buy FOOD n sch neccessities).

rn im so scared. i have read reviews that they were scarred (literally, on the face) from the horrible blackhead whitehead extractions during their treatments. im just wondering: yes we mostly know phone scammers, but how can we protect ourselves (esp women) from these kind of con places?????? they r a big local brand, advertises on traditional platforms w our mediacorp artistes, and have hundreds of 5star (highly likely fake) google reviews regularly posted to give themselves high google rating… but people r being hardsold in small little rooms (i wish i could expose the brand names so yall can read all the horrendous posts on google review, hardwarezone, tripadvisor, mummy forums).

pls dont laugh at me or these other women, most of us just want to take good care of our skin but these swindler corporations take advantage. plus, it seems to hv bountiful resources to do massive marketing to paint a good but false image of themselves before unsuspecting consumers. ps: if i say their brand name, as long as u r a sgporean who walks around sg malls, u confirm see before.

is there smthg we can do to expose their unethical methods?? buy multiple packages, will go up to tens of thousands of $.

GIRL CANNOT TAHAN THAT EX-BF’S MOTHER IS STILL CALLING EVEN AFTER SHE IS MARRIED

0

My ex-boyfriend’s mother kept on asking about my 1 yr old daughter

I got married and gave birth last year, me and my ex broke up on 2019 and both him and his mother have been occasionally sending me messages asking me how I’m doing and coping since the breakup.

I have been ignoring their messages but I do read them.

My marriage was a mistake to begin with, and I do not know how I can reply them especially when his mother kept on asking about my daughter. About who that baby is and when did I gave birth etc.

Keep in mind his mother do not have dementia or any illness, she would sometimes randomly call me as well.

I do appreciate them checking on me after so many years and even when I got married. My marriage is not great and how could I possibly let outsiders know what I’m going through.

Do I miss my ex and his mother? Yes I do but I have to move forward to working a better future for my daughter and leaving my husband because of abuse.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Have a clean break from both families and focus on what’s best for yourself (retirement) and your child (good education and environment till adulthood).
  • U better have some money save up. If u want to get away from family abuse.. unless u want to tahan it till the day u go into ur grave. Life is short. Better make it every day a happy event. Good luck girl.
  • Better not to cut off. You nv know her true intentions. Don’t wait until too late and regret
  • you never know what people’s intentions are. focus on your kid n bettering your future without both men n their families.

MAN WANTS VISITING MOTHER IN LAW TO STAY IN THE HOTEL INSTEAD OF HIS HOME

0

My partner (35m) and I (31f) have an argument and I am not sure if I am at fault. My MIL who is from Malaysia (50-something) wants to visit after she has been in our home for a week in April this year.

After she left I made it clear that next time she will be staying elsewhere but my partner disagrees now.

There is a nice hotel just not far away where we usually place our overnight guests. I am also willing to pay for it. I don’t mind her visiting and having her over, doing things with her, taking her out. But I do not want her living here.

When MIL visited in April I was still working from home 100%. She said she would leave after breakfast, and explore during the day until my partner would be home from work. What really happened was that she was home all day, rummaging around and:

  • she cleaned my already clean house
  • did my laundry including underwear
  • took everything out of my cabinets and put it back in in a “more practical” order
  • bought things she felt “missing” in our household (a 2nd air fryer?!)  and acted like a generous saint
  • was digging my plants
  • came into my home office every 30 minutes to ask something or bring tea even after I told her to stop bc I need to work.

All of that also repeatedly after being asked not to.

In the evenings we decided about dinner the next day and make reservations or I bought groceries to cook a meal we decided on together. On the next day she would always randomly start to cook completely different meals without asking anyone first ignoring the fact we made other plans and ignoring the fact I dislike meat by cooking the most meaty dishes imaginable. Saying “I thought it would be better if I cooked anyways and I don’t mind.”

In the evening they would always fight. She had a nasty divorce from FIL 4 years ago which took a toll on her mental health. I am really sorry that this happened to her but she can’t get over it and won’t seek professional help. Instead she’s crying to my partner about it for 4 years now. When he tries to argue about getting therapy she will get angry and in the end they will scream and she will cry.

When attention was not on her she’d make comments like “I know I am just a burden to you but 2 more days and you’ll be rid of me” and stuff.

I don’t want her to live here again. My partner says I am cold-hearted and because I have such a bad relationship to my own family I can’t understand it.
