GF KPKB THAT BF’S DRIVING CAUSE HER TO GET MOTION SICKNESS BUT DW TAKE MRT

0

My GF (28F) and I (30M) have been together for about 2 years.

We don’t live together, but we’ve talked about it. We both live in town and the cost of living is only going up, so we could both save money if we got a place together. Although Singapore has pretty good public transportation some places are not public transport friendly my GF doesn’t drive.

This means that when we want to go somewhere out of town, I am the one driving.

Now, this doesn’t bother me too much, except my GF always seems to get motion sick when I’m driving. Because of her motion sickness, she almost always rides her bike to get around town.

She pretty much refuses to use the train or a bus, and she will only use taxis or a Grab if she really needs to. This also means that if we want to hang out together, I pretty much always need to go to her place.

The last handful of times we drove to Johor to go hiking or for whatever reason, I’ve gotten more frustrated with her getting motion sick. I don’t think I am a bad driver and I don’t drive recklessly or overly aggressive. If we are in traffic and there are a lot of starts and stops, she’s complaining. She can’t look at her phone to help with directions because it makes her motion sickness worse.

She pretty much just curls up and closes her eyes because she says it makes her feel better. But it makes me feel like more of a chauffer because I can’t even talk to her while we are driving.

I’ve asked her to take Dramamine or something similar to help ease her symptoms, but she says she’s tried it many times and it doesn’t help and sometimes even makes her feel worse. But she’s constantly criticizing my driving and telling me that I need to drive differently to not make her motion sick, but without offering any actual helpful advice on how to drive differently. And considering she doesn’t drive, I don’t think she fully grasps that I can’t just change the way I drive and expect every other car on the road to cooperate.

This past weekend she wanted to go visit some of her friends in Malaysia. It’s a little over an hour drive. I told her I really didn’t want to go because I know she will get motion sick and blame my driving and I don’t want to deal with that. She got mad at me because she felt like I wasn’t being considerate of her illness and that I am being selfish by not wanting to do something that she wants to do.

I just feel like she’s not offering me any real solutions other than “You just need to change the way you drive.” I told her it’s not enjoyable for me to drive her places because she’s not very fun to be around in the car. I told her she’s either criticizing my driving, complaining about being motion sick, or closing her eyes and not talking to me. All of which makes me feel like I’m just a driver and not a partner.

We didn’t go to see her friends and now she’s pissed at me and thinks I’m being unfair to her because she can’t control her motion sickness and that I should be more accommodating to her.

GF TOLD BF TO BE A HOUSEWIFE SINCE HE IS TOO LAZY TO LOOK FOR WORK

0

Me (26F) and my bf (25M) have been living together for a few years (September 2019). When we moved in together he was working and was helping around the house, as was I of course.

When the pandemic started he lost his job and for about a year I was very lenient and patient with him finding a job. He didn’t want to, he liked getting money from his parents and when that ran out he didn’t try again because he was almost banking on his mother giving more money.

Since February 2020 he has been out of work and I have been paying for everything we need. He also seems to think he still has a say in finances and making purchase requests. In turn, I said if you want that kind of luxury (deciding what gets bought or spent when you contribute nothing) he will have to help out, and since he can’t help with money he needs to help with house care.

There is no reason I should be the only one working AND taking care of the house. Even now, he complains about doing one load of dishes when I worked 9 hours. Mind you, there are no kids, he just plays video games all day or invites his friends over because he’s “depressed”, so am I. I’ve had my med doses raised 3 times in the last 2 years from the sheer stress as it’s breaking down my mental well-being. Thank

He says I’m a bad person for treating him like a “house wife”. Household expenses are 3200 a month on JUST rent and utilities. What he doesn’t understand is he is having $1600 a month in his living expenses covered plus whatever else he needs (food, toiletries, underwear, clothes, cigarettes, beer, which usually is another $300 a month at least).

He cleans maybe 1 hour total a week. He doesn’t cook, he leaves the kitchen a mess and refuses to clean it so either I have to clean it and cook or order food. He will only do HIS laundry, and he even offers his friends to come over to wash their clothes. I work 40-50 hours a week and am on call.

Am I wrong for expecting him to contribute close to the same amount of effort I do to the house hold or am I looking at this unfairly?

SHY GUY TOOK MAGIC BLUE PILL AFTER MEETING GIRL AT GOLDEN MILE, ALMOST DIED

0

A few weeks back, I was at Golden Mile with my friend who was interested in a Thai Hostess but he was too shy.

He claims that he needs to be drunk before talking to the girls.

He got drunk and eventually talked to the girl he was interested in.

But there was one problem once he got drunk he could not “stand”. Even though the girl offered him a “free night”

The girl then told him to purchase some magical blue pills, Somehow he managed to buy some from god knows where, but after consuming it, he almost had a heart attack and I thought I was going to attend his funeral.

He ended up going home and slept for 3 days as his heart was overworked and the doctor told him not to take any medications without a prescription.

He was literally walking around with his ding-dong for a few days after taking the pills.

That was the last time he ever took any pills while drinking and said that he almost died.

He then told me that he is going to a temple to be a monk after the near-death experience. Luckily he still young, if he was in his 50s he would have surely died.

TOURIST LEAVES LAPTOP @ STARBUCKS FOR 1 HR TO TEST HOW “SAFE” S’PORE IS

0

A content creator from the US, Uptin Saiidi, did an experiment to test how safe Singapore was, by leaving his laptop unattended at a Starbucks outlet for one hour.

The multimedia journalist from CNBC who has 660,000 followers on TikTok and 100,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, shared his experiment on TikTok on 24 October.

He was seen in the video leaving his laptop at a random Starbucks outlet without “telling anyone to watch it”, before leaving to grab lunch elsewhere.

He then shared some tidbits about Singapore’s crime rates, saying that we went 250 days in a row without common crime last year.

Uptin then cited how honesty and fairness are a big part of Singapore’s culture, and that because “basic needs are met,” people don’t resort to crime.

He also added that “you will never see a homeless person here”.

he then added that another reason for the low crime rate in Singapore is surveillance, as there are cameras everywhere protecting against crimes, and cited the “crazy high” consequences for stealing.

In the later part of the video, he returned to the Starbucks outlet where he left his laptop an hour ago; lo and behold, his laptop was still sitting there, untouched.

Netizens’ comments

  • I left my wallet in Dubai and found extra money in it
  • in South Africa they wouldve taken your laptop, your camera, your mic, your tiktok channel and your first name
  • In London it’ll get stolen even if you’re sat in front of it
  • Here in South America they would taken the laptop, the phone, the camera, your name, your wife, your self confidence and your house
  • I live in Singapore and left my phone at a bus stop and the next day it was in a plastic bag taped to the wall with a note saying lost phone
  • You will never see a homeless person? Not as obvious as other countries, but as a local, I seen a few
  • “Basic needs are met”, I think that’s the most important part
  • Not even lying, this video made me even more interested in visiting. Thank you!

ACTIVISTS THREW MASHED POTATOES ON $157M ART PIECE TO “PROTEST” FOSSIL FUELS

0

A group of clowns activists vandalised a painting by Claude Monet worth US$111 million (SGD $157.4 million) in a German museum, as part of their protests against fossil fuels.

The environmental protest group responsible for the act, Last Generation, boasted of their actions online, Tweeting:

“If it takes a painting – with #MashedPotatoes or #TomatoSoup thrown at it – to make society remember that the fossil fuel course is killing us all: Then we’ll give you #MashedPotatoes on a painting!”

The painting, Les Meules, is on permanent loan to the Museum Barberini in Potsdam and belongs to billionaire Hasso Plattner – it fetched US$111 million at an auction in 2019.

The activists were seen in the video wearing orange vests, and pouring mashed potatoes onto the painting, then squatting down in front of it and putting their hands on the wall.

One of the clowns activists then said “Do we have to pour mashed potatoes on the painting to get your attention? This painting will not be worth anything if we fight over food.”

The two clowns activists were arrested and taken into custody, and are being investigated by the German authorities for damage to property and trespassing.

The painting didn’t suffer any damage as it was protected by glass, and will be back on display on Wednesday.

MAZDA CRASHED INTO TAXI @ NICOLL HIGHWAY & TURNED “TURTLE”, 2 SENT TO HOSPITAL

0

A video emerged online on 22 October showing an accident that took place on Nicoll Highway, with a red coloured car hitting a grey sedan before flipping and ending up on its back.

The accident reportedly took place on 8 September, and according to SG Road Vigilante, the “turtled” car was a Mazda that was booked under GetGo, a carsharing app.

The Mazda was seen speeding down a lane on Nicoll Highway, before crashing into the rear-side of a taxi in front that was driving at a slower speed.

The resultant impact of the crash saw the Mazda flipping over and landing on its back, upside down, with the taxi also stopping as a result.

The taxi driver got out of his vehicle to check on the Mazda driver, as another driver also rushed over to check on the latter.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that two people were sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital after the incident, which had taken place at the junction of Nicoll Highway and Guillemard Road.

They were alerted to the accident on 8 September at about 6am.

An elderly man was reportedly seen asking the public for donations at near Ang Mo Kio Hub, at the underpass linking the MRT station to the mall, according to Shin Min Daily News.

He had a sign laid down on the ground, stating that he needed $3,000 to pay for his late mother’s funeral expenses.

Many have spotted the elderly man over the last 3 weeks, as he sat on a stool in the underpass and sought donations from passers-by.

The elderly man, Mr Zhou, had his handwritten sign laid down on the ground saying that the money would be returned within the next three months.

He also added that he was willing to provide his personal particulars to the donors as proof of his identity, and thanked those who helped him out.

Zhou also added that he has raised about $1,000 so far and is 1/3 through.

He spoke to Shin Min Daily News and said that he became a “beggar” to raise money for his mother’s funeral – saying that his 90-year-old mother died 2 weeks ago after being diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago, and that his father had already passes away.

He told SMDN that he will leave once he’s received the $3,000, and that he has been selling tissue paper in the vicinity of Toa Payoh where he lives since his mother died.

WOMAN’S FOODPANDA ORDER MARKED DELIVERED BUT SHE DIDN’T RECEIVE ANYTHING

0

Never ever would have thought I could be one of the victims through foodpanda

Ordered 4 Koi drinks from foodpanda platform at 3.37pm today and my order was marked as delivery at 4.03pm even though I did not receive my 4 Koi drinks?

Could not contact the rider once your order has been delivered hence I have to contact the live chat agent through the app.

Spoke with 2 agent from live chat and also on FB chat and all are not helpful at all with all the copy and paste template.

Was informed that they could not refund me after throughly reviewed the details of my case. Ask them if the rider has send to the wrong unit and the first agent replied that the rider had pass my drink to a person and ask me to check if anyone has collected on my behalf?

I was at home the whole time and no one ring my doorbell. Since no doorbell was heard I did not even open the door so how did the rider manage to pass to the person?

My husband also did not open the door so does the person even exist cause only me and my husband lived in the house?

They ended the chat before any resolution was given and I could not contact them again thought the app. So I paid foodpanda, nothing was received and yet refund could not be processed?

Has anyone encounter this issue before and how do I resolve it? I believe I saw a few articles awhile ago that some customers are affected like my case and foodpanda refused to process the refund.

I do not think this is fair to your customer. If you do not want to refund me then I should at least receive my order?
