Malaysia – In broad daylight, 4 men kidnapped a Chinese man on the street!

The police confirmed that the kidnapped Chinese man had been released, and the preliminary investigation involved debt issues.

Two videos went viral on social media. A white Toyota Vellfire arrived and abducted a Chinese man on the street. At that time, four men wearing masks got off the car and pulled the other party who had taken off his clothes into the car.

Video of man getting abducted:

During the process, the kidnapped Chinese men fought hard, but the four strong men beat him into submission and pulled him into the car; the whole incident was photographed by the onlookers. Alot of drivers horn their vehicle horns after sighting the incident, and members of the public dare not rush forward to stop it.

After the incident, many cars and motorcycles chased the SUV while whistling, and eventually lost the Vellfire, and then called the police to provide information.

Ampang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Faro confirmed in a statement that the incident happened at about 5.03pm yesterday in front of a restaurant on 1/23d Road, Bandung Indah, Ampang, Selangor.

He said that the police received reports from the public that someone had been taken into a white Toyota Vellfire SUV.

He said that at the time of the incident, the victim went to a restaurant alone for dinner. A group of local men arrived and took the victim into the car. The victim tried to shout and resist but to no avail.

Video of high speed chase:

He added that at about 10:45 last night, the victim went to the Ampang Jaya police headquarters to take a statement. The victim was released in Klang area after being taken captive. He had some wounds on his feet and face, and was later treated at Ampang Hospital.

Mohd Faro pointed out that in the preliminary investigation, the case involved debt issues, the police used Section 365 of the Penal Code (unlawful imprisonment) to investigate the case.

Those found guilty will be sentenced to imprisonment for up to seven years and a fine. The suspect is currently being sought.

GIRL KEEPS MATCHING WITH MEN WHO LIE ABOUT THEIR AGE ON DATING APPS, 40+ SAY “EARLY 30’S”

0

Older guys lying about their age on bumble

I guess we’re all familiar with people catfishing with super filtered pics that don’t even look like them… but has anyone experienced matching/meeting up with guys who have obviously lied about their age?

And by that I mean they state they’re younger – usually claim to be in their early-mid 30’s when they’re actually 40+ and the reason they do it is because they want to match with younger women (who they think are likely to set cut off age of 35 or smth).

I guess they’re more likely to get away with it as Asians generally look younger

Has anyone experienced this? I personally know a few friends who have and the thing is the men will admit to it because they think it’s totally not a big deal.

Just seems so bold when SG is small and we all probs have like 1-2 degrees of separation

  • Met a lady before who didn’t lie about her age but appearance. Sent me a pic taken 5 years ago.
She was super slim in the pic but when I saw her in real, she was 3 times her size.
  • Yup pretty common. Could be to conceal their identity as well- a friend dated a guy who claimed he was in his mid-30s, went on quite a few dates and even hooked up before finding out he was actually in his 40s, was married and had kids. She nope’d out of that situation quick.
  • Yeah it’s pretty common. Have gotten messages from guys who admit that they’re way older than they claim and used an ancient photo after messaging for a while/ I asked for a video call.

WIFE CAN NOT TAHAN HER IN-LAWS AS THEY ARE HORRIFYINGLY UNHYGIENIC

0

Need advice here. My in-laws are unhygienic.

Their house is dirty & smelly (according to me & also ppl who came to view their flats when they put their flat on sale). There are always cockroach carcasses around.

Once I even found a cockroach egg in a soup that my mother-in-law cooked.

My mother-in-law used to have a bucket at the sink where she rinsed gravy off dirty dishes. She would use the same bucket to wash veggies until we told her to use a separate bucket.

Once I caught her using the bucket full of gravy & grease to rinse her hands which she wiped on a hand towel afterwards. I gasped in horror. She also uses the same towel to wipe the INSIDE of pots. I told hubby to tell her off but she always thinks I’m making a fuss. She’s a toilet cleaner & she’s illiterate & stubborn.

My hubby & I used to visit them twice a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) & she’d cook for us. In the last 2 weeks, I had diarrhea after eating her cooking. The last straw came when I had diarrhea until 3.30am two nights ago. I told hubby I won’t eat at his parents’ place anymore.

Her unsanitary habits make my stomach turn, but her son relishes her cooking so much that he insists on going back on Tues & Thursdays to eat. His mother asked him, “Since you’re the only one coming over, do you still want me to cook?’

Hubby said he merely wanted to ‘’visit’’ them, not just to eat. Because he’s there to eat, his mother can’t order takeaway & has to cook. Hubby eats brown rice but his parents don’t. So his mother said, ‘’I’ll still cook brown rice for you’’. His parents always eat early anyway at 6pm when hubby is still at work, so it’s not like he joins them for dinner anyway.

I told him to eat at his parents’ place JUST ONCE A WEEK. (I’m sure many of you visit your parents once a week as well.) And JOIN ME for dinner on the other day, but he said ‘What difference would it make? I wanna eat at my parents’ place on both days.’’ My suggestion is REASONABLE but he refused to compromise.

So I’m left to have my own dinners on Tuesdays & Thursdays from now on. His parents’ house is 0.5hour drive from our house. So it won’t be a quick dinner

& a rush back.

Before you get all holier-than-thou & go ‘He’s just filial. What’s wrong with you, girl??!!’’

Ladies, just imagine your husband insisting on going back to his parents’ house every 2 days of the week & leaving you to have your own dinners, how would that make you feel? I don’t have any friends to ask out for dinner.

He’s a very inflexible and ‘no-feeling’ guy according to my mum & ME. He’s acting like I’m invisible & my opinion doesn’t count, so should I just ask a random person to have dinner with me for those 2 days from now on? *laughs slyly*

GIRL’S BF IN NS, EVERY WEEKEND ASKS HER TO BOOK & PAY FOR HIS GRAB HOME

0

Hi guys I’ve been dating my boyfriend for about 3 months now. He’s still in ns and is taking home a very pathetic salary.

Ever since we started to date, he’d ask me if I could book him a grab home (He stays in the west, camp is in the east).

I don’t mind booking a grab for him to go home cos I know he’s very tired and if I was in his shoes, I’d want to reach home asap too.

However, this is taking a toll on me. I don’t work so all the money spent on him is my pocket money from my parents or my own savings.

Recently, my boyfriend has been asking me for more money (like $50 or $70) but they’re all very legitimate reasons so I’d love to help him out too (I can help him but then I’ll be left with very little for myself).

He’s quite a nice guy and pays for most things when we’re out (I’d say it’s a 3:7 ratio so 3 me, 7 him). He also pays for my grab when we go home/sends me home.

Is this a red flag?

Netizens’ comments

  • Huh just stop taking grab home?? Don’t have money then don’t spend
  • how can a guy live off a girl?? Plus he has allowances from NS. If he cannot manage his own finances then you shouldn’t need to be responsible for him
  • Take bus can sleep on bus mah, longer journey home = longer sleep. Take cab not shiok la

28 Y.O GUY WONDERS IF HIS NET WORTH OF $120,000 IS TOO LITTLE FOR HIS AGE

0

Is a net worth of 120k too little for a 28-year-old guy?

Ever since I started working 3 years ago, I have been trying hard to save and grow my money.

I come from a below-average income family and my parents are not highly educated, so i did not have much financial knowledge until I started reading more in uni.

I recently calculated that my net worth is about 120k after subtracting my student loans from my assets. About 80% of my money is invested, though quite widely spread in unit trusts, local and US stocks, sg saving bonds, company and govt bonds, reits etc.

I have been fortunate not to lose money overall but I thought I could have done better as I only gained 10% overall over 3 years of investing, not counting dividends and despite me spending lots of time reading and monitoring the markets.

I am not a high earner in a top industry nor have the ability to climb the corporate ladder fast to earn more. I do want to settle down, buy a house and have kids in future. But with a decent BTO alone easily costing 4-7x of what I have, I can’t help feeling worried.

With the ever-rising property prices and cost of living, I don’t really know what more I can do financially.

Here are what netizens think:

  • If you alone, not enough. If your partner earns and saves about the same, much better. It’s good that you are making plans for the future but don’t forget it’s possible to have less and still be happy as long as you don’t compare with others.
  • I have a net worth of 1.9m at 36. It’s not much in todays high inflationary environment.
  • If its pure cash then excellent. Continue to keep it growing. If it includes investments and assets, still very good, monitor them & keep it growing.
  • Not sure if flexing or serious. You’ve done very well to get 120k at 28. Being up 10% while most portfolios are down is good. Without knowing your risk tolerance and plans, just keep doing what you’re doing. The path to financial freedom is slow consistent steps. If you take shortcuts it’s like snakes and ladders, easy to slide back to square one.

EMPLOYEE FELL SICK AFTER SUBMITTING RESIGNATION, H.R SAYS HE IS “PLAYING” MC

0

Is it my fault to fall sick after submitting my resignation? This led to alot of speculation by HR, that I started to play mc.

I wouldn’t have come to know without my colleagues telling me that they heard about this.

I genuinely fell sick with flu and I couldn’t even get out of bed for almost a week.

Feeling humiliated and very uncalled for action by the HR.

Is this considered work place harassment?

Netizens’ comments

  1. You’re already serving your notice period. Your soon-to-be-ex-employer’s unprofessional HR department isn’t your problem anymore.
  2. Your sick days are an ENTITLEMENT. They are not a privilege.
If you have an official MC issued by a doctor, who the hell do your HR think they are to doubt the legitimacy of your illness? Did they go to medical school too?
  3. Some people will talk behind your back and just live for gossip. If your HR is run by people like that, then all the more congratulations to you for getting out of that company.
  4. Take more mc, may as well do what they accused you of.
But seriously, there’s nothing you can do except maybe confront them or make snide comments/emails to them about how sick you really were if you wanna feel like you “did something” to make yourself feel better.
  5. wow… so toxic… gg, u did the right thing, give yourself a pat on the back and a glass of wine to celebrate 😀

S’POREAN WOMAN BECOMES HOMELESS AFTER DIVORCING WITH NO EXIT PLAN

0

Singaporean & homeless

My friend is 50 this year. Was married and divorced.

Husband took the matrimonial home and returned her cpf portion only. She stayed with her sister’s family for few years until they had a misunderstanding.

She was homeless and a family friend gave her a room to stay. All was ok for few years when a friend’s hubby asked her outrightly to have a secret relationship (just S) as his wife does not satisfy him anymore. She said no but lately he enters her room on the pretext of chatting.

She is scared and locks herself in her room.

She purposely comes back late from work so she does not have to see him. She does not want to cause any problem to her friend who gave her a place to stay at a time in need. Now She has nowhere to go again. She earns only $1400 every month and now room rental is super high(she cannot afford it).

Her CPF+HLE is only 250k. There are no resale flats in that price range. She has asked HDB for help. They asked her to consider a rental flat but she needs a co-applicant (there is no one).

I don’t know how to help her. She is a Singaporean but can’t have her own housing.

Here are what netizens think:

  • This one is really social problem, which will happen more in the coming years as our housing become a profit tool for the powerful. The only suggestion is to seek help from non profit organizations and see what they can do to help.
  • Go to MP or apply rental flat under this scheme…Joint Singles Scheme Operator-Run (JSS-OR) Pilot. Eligibility conditions are the same as the JSS above. You can apply alone, and the JSS-OR Pilot operator will assign a flatmate to you.
  • Needing to find a co-occupant is so dumb ugh why didn’t they just build smaller units.
  • it’s strange that she is singaporean and getting this kind of pay. she knows what it means to impose on people and also knows what the husband is trying to do. So means she is not intellectually disabled.

MAN SAID DON’T GET BRAINWASH TO JOIN REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY, MOST “EAT GRASS”

0

For those who are considering joining the real estate industry as a real estate agent; PLEASE I urge u to think twice. Especially if you’re leaving a stable salaried job to do this.

Don’t be fooled by the posts of your friend posting their awards & fancy cars and shit on social media and think it’s so easy. It’s not.

Don’t get brainwashed by the managers who are trying to recruit you that it’s such good money and that you can also do it. They earn an overriding commission from their team members so of course the more the merrier. My team manager makes $30-60k a month alone on his team overriding commission; and that’s on top of his own sales. Don’t forget that these people are highly skilled salesmen who can sell ice to eskimos.

The reality is that only the TOP 1-5% of ALL agents make good money & the rest are barely making it. I am not exaggerating. The people in the Top 5% are making all the money.

If you’re not in the Top 5%, u can totally forget about it. There’s over 30,000 agents in Singapore- u do the Maths.

In my first 2-3years, I burned through all my hard earned savings on PropertyGuru credits (I think burned about 5k), various training courses (3k here and 6k there), various apps & misc expenses.

Besides PropertyGuru, there’s also EdgeProp & 99.co- also need to buy credits.

Another 20-30k burned on Facebook & Google Ads.

In this industry you will burn a lot of money first (easily 20k or more in your first year) before u even make your first cent.

If you do not have at least 12 months of expenses saved PLUS min $20k for all these necessary expenses, don’t even consider it.

That’s not the worst part. Just because u burn money on PropertyGuru, Facebook & Google Ads doesn’t mean u will get genuine leads.

95% of all your leads are time wasters. They don’t respond when u contact them. Msg never reply. Or they will make appointment with you & then never show up. A lot of people who fill up your lead form on Facebook are just bored and have no genuine intention to sell or buy property. Cold leads from online marketing are almost impossible to close. Most of them are just “look see only”. I spent over $20k to learn this the hard way. Don’t be like me.

I cannot tell u how many times people have flown my plane. I travel down to the location and waited for an hour & the person never show up.

If you’re a woman, you’ll constantly get harassed by nuisance calls and texts by random male strangers. Because our contact number is readily available online, many men will think it’s okay to take your number and abuse it freely. Pretend to be a buyer interested to buy property, and then after wasting your time for hours, ask if you’re single.

Everyday I will get at least one dodgy text or DM from some creepy anonymous male stranger on various platforms. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

This year after deducting expenses, not only did I not make any $$, I lost around $15-20k.

It’s depressing to think that the people working in McD & cleaners actually earn more than me.

The truth is- You’ll HATE the job UNLESS you’re a natural salesman who genuinely loves interacting with people. The key words being “GENUINELY LOVES”.

I am an introvert, I hate going out, I hate interacting with people in general and I suffer everyday in this job.

So please take my advice. Don’t do it. It’s very painful & not as lucrative as many people think.

Most agents make around $50-100k a year? Might as well stick to a regular day job with CPF and benefits.

The real perk is the security of knowing u have a fixed paycheck coming in every month.

The dumbest thing one can do is leave a stable salaried job for this fucking “job” where U actually have to pay money to do shit U hate & talk to people u can’t stand, everyday going around for viewing after viewing after viewing like a free fucking tour guide.

People don’t care about wasting your time, cos you’re just an agent.

Nobody will tell u this shit because frankly those who are struggling won’t admit to anyone they’re struggling, and the few who are doing very well won’t understand why you’re struggling.

I just wish somebody had told me this shit years ago.

MOTHER HELPS CHILD APPLY FOR JOB, ASKS EMPLOYER COME HER HOUSE FOR INTERVIEW

0

An unidentified employer shared how one of their job applicant’s mother had contacted her and arranged a job interview for her child, even going as far as asking for the interview to be held at their home, according to Sin Chew News.

The incident purportedly happened in Malaysia.

The employer, an owner of a restaurant, shared that the mother had repetitively asked about the salary and benefits of the job.

They then got started discussing about arranging an interview with the job candidate, and the mother then asked the owner to come to her home to interview her child for the job, before sending the employer their house address.

The employer was shocked and thought that she was being conned at first, and that she had thought the woman was looking for a job for herself – but it turns out she was doing so for her child.

She expressed her frustrations at the woman having the audacity to ask her to go to their house to conduct the job interview.

The employer then continued that job applicants should be asking about the responsibility of the job that they are applying for, before they ask about salary and benefits.

She added that in this industry, you’re bound to come into contact with all kinds of characters, but this is truly eye opening.

86 Y.O ELDERLY WOMAN FOUND DEAD @ BUKIT MERAH FLAT, COOKED NOODLES LEFT UNFINISHED

0

An 86-year-old elderly woman, Liu Jin Lian, was found dead on the floor inside her home at Block 121 Bukit Merah View on 25 September, according to Shin Min Daily News.

The police also found a bowl of unfinished noodles that Liu had cooked.

Liu’s housemate, Chen, said that the former had complained of not feeling well and diarrhoea that morning, and She’d asked her to see a doctor, and whether she had any money to do so.

Liu, who is a PR from Perak, Malaysia, had lived with Chen for the last 7 years, with the latter going out to play mahjong that day.

Chen returned home that evening at 11pm and found the flat’s gate open, and when she went into the unit and turned on the lights, she found Liu lying on the floor with a pillow below her head and the fan still on.

Chen called out to her a few times but she didn’t respond.

She didn’t dare to touch her body but saw the signs of rigour mortis on her late housemate’s hands and feet, and suspected she had died.

She then rushed to the fire post below her block for help, and about 3 to 4 staff members from SCDF went to her flat and confirmed that Liu had died.

Chen said that the police found a bowl of instant noodles with soup that was drying up in the kitchen, as well as vomit on the ground.

She said that she believes that Liu started to feel sick after cooking the noodles and eating some of it, before lying on the floor next to her bed to get a rest, before passing away in her sleep.

She said that Liu looked peaceful, and that she appeared as though she was simply sleeping.
