A wild boar was previously seen being stuck in between the bars of a road divider in Sengkang, before being rescued by NParks officers.

However, NParks has since confirmed that the wild boar has been euthanised, because it has suffered multiple injuries during the incident.

NParks said they responded to the incident on 21 September at about 6pm and their officers found the wild boar stuck in a road divider along Punggol Road.

Officers were seen in a video taken by witnesses trying to free the boar from the divider, and NParks said they first sedated the boar with a tranquiliser before freeing it.

A vet at the site then assessed the boar and found it to be in poor condition, with its numerous injuries likely to have been caused during its attempt to free itself from the divider.

It was then humanely euthanised.

The boss of a seafood restaurant The Morning Catch Seafood at New Industrial Road, spoke to Shin Min Daily News about how a man ordered $334.50 worth of seafood and left without paying.

The incident happened on 19 September at about 7.50pm.

The boss of the restaurant, Tan Huiyun, shared that she was not around on the day of the incident but heard about what happened from her workers.

The customer known only as Mr Jia, had ordered 3 lobsters, 9 mantis shrimp, 9 abalones and 1kg of red flower crab, with the final charges being $334.50.

Jia then told them that he knew their boss personally and would transfer the money to her, and the employee who was writing the bill tried to get his contact details but the man left in a hurry, saying that he was “in a rush”.

The worker only managed to get a photo of his car, as the man drove away.

A police report has since been lodged by the owner after 5 days and the police confirmed that they are investigating.

Facebook user Charlotte Susanna shared how she “observed” that she has been paying $128 for her Singtel bill instead of her “usual” $85 fees for her Mio TV and home internet.

She then contacted Singtel and was allegedly told that her contract was over but she claims that she didnb’t receive any notification to recontract.

She said that she then wanted to recontract but was told that there are no promotions for Mio Tv and she will still have to pay $128

With the inflation so high , SINGTEL is like robbing innocent subscriber of our money .

On 26 September 2022, Huang Mengting was convicted in court of cheating Prudential Assurance Company Singapore (“Prudential”) by submitting edited invoices to deceive Prudential into disbursing funds for accident claims made by her clients.

Between July 2019 to November 2020, she allegedly submitted 11 edited invoices to Prudential, to facilitate accident injury claims for her clients. She knew that her clients’ claims were likely to be rejected by Prudential. As such, she submitted edited invoices with false details of the circumstances of her clients’ accidents to substantiate their claims, and deceived Prudential into disbursing a total of $3,287.82.

Huang was sentenced to six weeks’ imprisonment following her conviction on four counts of cheating under Section 417 of the Penal Code, with seven other charges taken into consideration for the purpose of sentencing. The offence of cheating under Section 417 of the Penal Code carries an imprisonment term of up to three years.

The Police have zero tolerance towards such criminal acts and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law, and have also referred Huang to the Monetary Authority of Singapore for regulatory actions to be taken against her.

The Police have arrested five men, aged between 16 and 21, for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting.

On 24 September 2022 at about 4.45am, the Police received a call for assistance for a fight in the vicinity of Fullerton Road. On Police’s arrival, a 17-year-old victim was found to have sustained multiple laceration wounds on his head, arms, shoulders and left knee. He was conveyed unconscious to the hospital and subsequently regained consciousness. His condition is now stable.

Through ground enquiries, follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Central Police Division and the Police Operations Command Centre established the identities of the men involved and arrested them.

On 25 September 2022, four men, aged between 16 and 21, were charged in court with the offence of rioting under Section 147 of the Penal Code 1871. Another 20-year-old man was arrested on 26 September 2022 for his suspected involvement in the incident. He will be charged in court on 28 September 2022 for rioting as well.

The offence of rioting carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years and caning. Police investigations are ongoing.

The Police will not tolerate brazen acts of violence and blatant disregard for the law. We will spare no effort to apprehend such offenders and deal with them in accordance with the law.

The Police have arrested two men, aged 28 and 38, for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of motor vehicle with common intention.

On 25 September 2022 at about 5.50 pm, the Police received a report of a motor vehicle theft along Tampines Street 81.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras and CCTVs, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the duo involved and arrested them on 25 and 26 September 2022. The motor vehicle was also recovered. Preliminary investigations revealed that both men are believed to be involved in other similar cases of theft of motor vehicles and theft from vehicles. Police investigations are ongoing.

Both men will be charged in court on 27 September 2022 with theft of motor vehicle with common intention under Section 379A read with Section 34 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years and a fine.

The Police would like to advise all vehicle owners to refrain from leaving their car keys in their vehicle, and to lock their vehicle whenever it is left unattended, even for a short while.
