SINGER JJ LIN LAUNCHING HIS MIRACLE COFFEE IN S’PORE ON 30 SEPTEMBER

0

Singapore singer JJ Lin is bringing his Miracle Coffee brand from Taiwan to Singapore at the end of this month (September).

Lin posted the announcement onto his social media platforms but stopped short on elaborating further, as he dropped hints that the cafe will probably be opening on 30 September in likely collaboration with Marina Bay Sands.

He posted a cryptic poster on his Instagram page, with the caption “If Miracles…” accompanied by the date “30 September” and “Singapore”, as well as his Miracle Coffee logo and the Marina Bay Sands logo.

He captioned his post: “Miracle’s brewing… in Singapore!”

Lin didn’t mention if it will be a pop-up event or a permanent store.

Miracle Coffee currently has 3 outlets in Taiwan and was started back in 2018, and it serves a variety of food such as coffee (duh), cakes, milk teas, biscuits, sandwiches and etcetera.

S’PORE SALON OFFERS GIRL FREE HAIR SERVICES, THEN CHARGES HER $88

0

TikTok user Amanda Wong (@amanda01wong) shared how she was purportedly offered free hair services by a hair salon in Singapore in exchange for her posting about their business to help publicise it.

However, she was later charged $88 for her haircut, which ended up being uneven after she asked them for “curtain bangs”.

Wong said that the salon had initially reached out to her to request a social media post to help promote their company, and they offered her a haircut and a hair-colour treatment in exchange for her post.

She accepted it and told the hairdresser that she wanted curtain bangs and to keep the rest of her hair as it was, and she was then told that cutting curtain bangs would cost her extra.

She then agreed to the extra costs, thinking to herself “how expensive can it be to cut your fringe?”

After everything was done, she was then charged $88, which she didn’t protest because she felt embarrassed and her hair looked “not bad”, for now.

She said that her haircut started to look really weird after a while and her colleagues mentioned that her hair looked choppy and uneven.

Her friends also expressed their surprise at her being charged $88 for the haircut.

KING CHARLES ASKS STAFF TO MOVE PENS AWAY BECAUSE HE IS TOO “KINGLY” TO DO IT HIMSELF

0

King Charles III was formally crowned king of the United Kingdom on 10 September following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

His ascension ceremony took place at St James Palace, but viewers noticed a temporal moment of the new king demonstrating his perceived self-entitlement. (He is the king, after all…)

He was seen being unhappy and annoyed with a pen and ink box that was on his table and was spotted gesturing angrily at his royal aide to move it away from the table.

Netizens pointed out that he could have moved it himself, but his new kingly status meant that such actions were beneath him.

Twitter user @StokeyyG2 asked “could he not have just moved it himself?” as his Twitter video showing the annoyed king grimacing at his aides went viral.

The hashtag #NotMyKing was also trending on Twitter for days, as netizens called him out for his lack of respect for others, as well as allegedly being a spoiled man-child.

Netizens’ comments

  • as soon as you turn 70 you lose ability to move things out of your way
  • Bros got baby carrot for fingers what u think
  • What’s the point of being a king if you have to do things by yourself
  • And make the Royal Pen Mover unemployed? I don’t think so!

CANDY BRAND WASHING MACHINE USE 10 TIMES SPOIL, SPOILED AGAIN AFTER REPAIR

0

We bought a candy washer dryer ROW41066DWMCE80 on 17/12/2021 from Gain City and the machine was delivered to us on 17/05/2022, after our house was ready.

Since the delivery, we have used the machine for about 10 times. Thereafter, on 04 August 2022, the machine showed error 08 and we were informed by customer service that the motor broke down.

We contacted Candy’s customer service and the technician was arranged to come down on 05 Aug 2022.

According to the technician, the machine motor was faulty it had to be replaced but the parts were out of stock and we had to wait for an update.

Candy’s customer service contacted me on 10 Aug to inform me that the repairing of the machine had to be done at their workshop and thus, they needed to transport it for further servicing and the entire process will take 4-7 days to complete. We told the customer service that the machine has only been used less than 12 times and would like a 1-1 exchange instead.

However, candy’s support stated that they only do a 7-days exchanged policy from the date of purchase and they could only provide us with a loan set while my machine was being repaired at the workshop. We agreed to it and made arrangement for the spoilt machine to be transported back and delivery of the loan set together on 12 Aug 2022 , 9am-1pm. To make matters worse, the customer service informed me that they overlooked the schedule and technician will only able to come on 12 Aug 2pm-6pm.

We were unable to accommodate to their schedule and had to reschedule the session to 15 Aug 9am-1pm, 2 days later as the technicians do not work on weekends.

Then on 12 August 2022, candy’s support informed me that they received an update from the workshop stating that the machine can be repaired onsite instead and there is no need for them to transport the machine back to the workshop. Hence, they cancelled the removal and delivery of the loan set and did an onsite technician revisit on Monday, 15 Aug 2022, 9am-1pm.

On 15 Aug 2022, technician came down at 9.30am. The motor was replaced and a test run was done with no significant issue. However, at 10pm that night while using the machine, it showed the same issue again (error E08 and loud noises).

As it was late at night, I dropped them a message and followed up with them the next day, 16 Aug 2022. I called in at 9am as nobody attended to me through WhatsApp. Jascha attended to me through the phone, I explained to Jascha that I needed this issue to be attended to as soon as possible as I have been without a functioning washing machine since 04 Aug 2022. I then requested to have a 1-1 exchange again as it is ridiculous for a new washing machine to be spoilt twice in less than 3 months, and the 2nd time on the same day it was being repaired.

However, Jascha strictly stated the policy again and was not able to give me any appointment for the technician to attend to my machine’s issue till 4 days later. They then arranged for the technician to come and collect the machine to the workshop while giving me a loan set (washer only).

Repair was stated to be done 5-7 days. With no updates from the team, I had to regularly message them for updates. On the 7th day of the repair, they told me that my machine is still under going through checking and repair and will inform us immediately once it is ready to be returned. I then asked for a timeline such as how long more do I have to wait which they left me on read till the next day where I have to prompt again.

On the 8th day of the repair, with no updates on how long the repair will take… they told me that they are pending for an update from the workshop. There was no update for another 7 days. I messaged them on 05 Sep to ask for an update which they replied that my machine needs replacement of PCB and control panel PCB. The parts were out of stock and they are waiting for the arrival of it which is expected to be next week. However, when I clarified if my machine will take another 1-2 weeks to be repaired on 07 Sep. They replied that my machine has already been repaired , 17 days after my machine was taken to the workshop and will be arranged to be delivered on 08 Sep 9am-1pm.

I used the machine on 11 Sep and had the same error code again. Till present, the machine had consistently broke down 3 times.

I believe I deserve to get either 1-1 exchange or a refund ?

Anyway, I have lost trust and confident with this brand and will not recommend anyone to support this brand.

Please think twice before buying.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Totally acceptable! It’s also a way of blessing to others. Nothing wrong with that!
  • I was told by my BIL it’s okay to take the offerings from an altar or set aside on the street. As long as you are respectful about it. However , don’t be surprised if the food is somewhat tasteless. Apparently according to Taoist belief, the essence of the food is consumed by the entities hence only the solid food remains.
  • never mind la….at least he pray pray. Its ok to give!
  • At least he knows how to respect the God what if those angmos people they take the fruits later smashed the atlar and throw them onto the floor than that time how?

JAPAN TO OPEN FULLY FOR TOURISM BY OCTOBER, NO MORE DAILY ARRIVAL LIMIT

0

Japanese officials said that they are evaluating further relaxation of border control measures, including lifting the daily limit on the number of people entering the country, lifting the ban on independent travel, and restoring visa-free entry. It is expected to be implemented by October 2022.

Focusing on the tourism boom in the autumn and winter tourist seasons, it is expected to make full use of the yen exchange rate. The benefits of the recent heavy devaluation.

Japanese Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara Seiji said in an interview with Fuji TV on the 11th that the authorities are evaluating the policy of restricting the entry of 50,000 people a day. Requirements such as the need for visas and entry only for group tours, “we will evaluate them as a whole and will implement them soon.”

Japan currently has a daily limit of 50,000 people entering Japan. At the same time, foreign groups who do not need to be accompanied by a tour guide are allowed to enter, and the original restriction on entry of people from 102 countries or regions has also been lifted.

Kihara said Japan should not fall further behind other countries in attracting foreign tourists, especially at a time when the devaluation of the yen is making travel to Japan more attractive. The yen fell to a 24-year low against the dollar recently as investors focused on the widening divergence between U.S. and Japanese monetary policy.

He said that the Japanese government is closely watching the excessive one-way trend of the yen and must take necessary measures, and the tourism industry is the most economical way of devaluing the yen.

The Nikkei reported that Japan will lift the cap on the number of people entering the country by October, but officials are still divided on whether to lift other restrictions at the same time. The upper limit on the number of people entering the country will be lifted, and free travel and visa-free entry will be allowed after observing the situation.

Japanese cabinet officials believe that Japan should ease travel restrictions in the fall, otherwise it will be more difficult to ease restrictions if the new crown epidemic returns in winter.

Analysts also said that lifting the cap on the number of people entering the country and allowing more tourists to enter will be the key to attracting foreign capital back to Japan and revitalizing the economy. Only 245,900 foreign tourists visited Japan last year, the lowest level since such data began in 1964, hitting the tourism industry hard.

According to another report by the Yomiuri Shimbun, the Japanese government is considering amending the law to develop the tourism potential of the fishing port. At present, Japan’s Fishing Port and Fishery Improvement Law restricts fishing ports to activities such as berthing and handling aquatic products, and restricts the construction of tourist facilities, such as fish ponds and restaurants, but the government plans to propose amendments in January next year to expand the use of fishing ports to revitalize the economy of fishing villages.

JURONG WEST COFFEE SHOP MIXED VEGE STALL CHARGES $12 FOR 3 INGREDIENTS

0

Whenever we order from mixed vege-stall or “economic” rice stalls the price can range from $2 for 1 vegetable to a whooping $10 plus dollars depending on the ingredients.

But a stall at Jurong West might have gone too far after charging $12 for 1 vegetable, 1 meat and 1 fish.

The netizen who paid for the meal said: “Jurong West BLK 504 mixed rice charges $12, the piece of fish is $8! Really crazy prices ..”

Eat Fast Food also cheaper

Some netizens commented that fast food used to be the more expensive option but it is no longer the more expensive option. As fast food meals typically come with a drink and there is air conditioning compared to a coffeeshop.

Netizens who saw the post started making comments advising consumers to not order big pieces of fish from mixed vegetable stalls as the price are often ridiculous.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Tat 1 is piranah bro they go and catch at amazon tats why expensive
  • Wah..fish meat from Mermaid ah?
  • When you order in future, do ask and you have the right to reject no gun pointing at you & yes it’s ridiculously expensive but to avoid paying more ASK rather than you complain behind after that
  • Avoid ordering fish, meat in big pieces if on budget. I order 1 meat 1 veg already $3.50.
  • Depend on the type of fish. When I want to eat fish, I only the steam fish + steam egg $4+ from ABC. The other stall always give me 3 pieces of sweet n sour fish + fried egg + veg only $3.20

MIGRANT WORKERS SEEN GETTING TEKAN WITH VULGARITIES BY ANGRY BOSS

A video emerged online and went viral on TikTok, showing a group of migrant workers bearing the brunt of a severe, vulgarity-laden tongue lashing by what appears to be their superior.

The man, who appears to be a safety officer according to netizens, was seen in the video screaming his lungs out at the group of construction workers as they stood in a line.

He was seen pointing at them aggressively while shouting, as the migrant workers took the scolding without responding.

The supervisor was seen walking away from the workers near the end of the video, before returning and laying another F-bomb on them.

Netizens’ comments

  • Ahhh i understand his frustration.
  • blue helmet is safety officers as safety officers is responsible job to maintain safety. if they not compile. they can jail and fine.
  • “who don’t want, who die!!!!” I rather he shout at them now for their safety than later smth happen
  • my husb is a safety himself. and everyday he told me stories of how frustrated he was with the workers cus sometimes they simply wont listen and wont
  • Safety officers must be firm and do whatever it takes. It may not look good but literal lives are in his hands.
  • don’t judge, safety cannot be compromised
  • He has the right to do that for the sake for all the rest of the workers. Try being on his position, don’t judge him .
  • The safety manager has their reason cause some of the workers don’t listen. They are under him so anything happen it will go to him
  • this is normal , important is safety come first. must be some never follow the rules. anything happens he need handle all the problems.
  • u know how much they treat safety complacently? i can understand why the safety officer is shouting.
  • For him to be so angry, he def has reminded them abt safety many times n they did not listen. Easy to say speak nicely when you are not in his shoes
