WOMAN EARNS $10K, BUT NOT HAPPY HUSBAND GIVES HER $300/MTH, CALL HIM A “MISER”

0

Husband is a miser and I don’t feel loved. I hope my husband read this.

We are married for 9years and have a beautiful son. We are both earning above 10k and have a comfortable life and all are good except that my husband is a miser, and towards me.

He stays with me and he only gives me $300 a month and that is barely enough to cover his share for electricity and parking while I pay for everything in the house(think repairs/replacements of Aircon/lightbulbs).

I pay for ALL supermarket runs and we go on Dutch for all meals (he would even get a few dollars from my for my plate of rice). His love language is spending quality time and he does great at that and I really appreciate. However, my love language is gifts and I rarely get anything from him.

He buys me like 2-3 tshirts(less than $100 a year) and it’s caused he wanted those for himself and a birthday present a year (which I have to buy him back one with almost the same amount of money. It also means I am just paying for my own present in advance).

He keep saying he needs to save money for house and mind you, it is for his own share and he’s not paying for everything. He only wants what he wants and I am expected to accomdate and pay for my share of it as well. He has no problem splurging on himself (think 2kplus suits, tops/pants) and only sees a problem when I asked for a gift and gets angry when I said he is stingy.

Actually, all I wanted is to feel love. I wanted to also be able to show that my husband dote and spoils me. I am only expecting presents on special occasions like birthday and Christmas and not having the need to ‘repay’ him with another item of the same amount. Is this asking for too much? I didn’t even get a ‘push’ present from him and yet I am spending a lot of money due to giving birth.

I am so sick of ‘begging’ him for gifts to make myself feel better. Talking to him doesn’t work as I’ve tried many times and he always have excuses.

Yes I can afford those things myself but I just want to feel that I have a husband who is willing to spoil me once in a while when I’ve been paying for everything in the house, all the supermarket runs, all my share of the meals.

It is getting so bad that I am so tired of this relationship where I have to accommodate and pay my share for all his wants and yet I don’t get a present when I asked for it once or twice a year. Whenever I bring up this topic to him, he will get upset and keep saying he doesn’t have money as he needs to save for his share of the house and the next moment, I can see him buying nice things for himself.

To him I can well afford it myself and why do I need to ask from him but he doesn’t understand that I can only feel love and spoiled by him when I received those things from him once or twice a year.

DISTRACTED GUY USING PHONE WHILE MRT DOOR CLOSING, GIRL BEHIND KENA “KIAP” BY DOORS

0

A netiizen shared her frustrations with “young people these days” being too obsessed with their phones without minding their surroundings.

She shared two anecdotes of unsavoury incidents that she had seen and experienced while in the MRT and the stations.

Here is what she said

Young people these days are just too entitled and obsessed with their phones while being a complete jerk towards others.

First encounter with this dude who was standing in the middle of the escalator while glued to his phone.

When the escalator reached the top, he just stood at the top of the escalator while still glued to his phone, completely oblivious to anyone around him and blocking anyone from landing.

There was only 1 second before landing and I had no choice but to physically shove him out of the way. Worst still, he wasn’t apologetic in anyway and glared at me as though it was my problem.

On hindsight, wished I had pushed him so hard that his phone dropped. Would I be liable for damage to his phone if it really dropped ? It was his fault totally anyway.

Next encounter was another dude who was walking slowly into the train while texting on his phone as the doors were about to close, completely oblivious to the people behind him rushing in to board.

The girl behind him got kiapped by the door because of it. And he completely wasn’t even aware of what he had caused.

4 youths between the ages of 18 and 19, were arrested on 5 August for allegedly robbing two kids, aged 14 and 16, and injuring them.

The police received a call for help to an alleged case of assault that took place at a back lane in Arab Street on 4 August at about 9.20pm.

The quartet had allegedly assaulted the two kids and demanded their phones and money, according to the police’s preliminary investigations.

The victims then complied out of fear and gave them cash of about $20 and their phones to the alleged robbers, who then fled the scene.

Both victims suffered injuries including bruises and cuts.

The identities of the robbers were then established by officers from the Central Police Division through the use of police cameras and ground inquiries, and they were swiftly arrested within 18 hours of the crime being reported.

They are set to be charged in court today with voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery, and face a jail term of up to 20 years and 12 strokes of the cane if they are found guilty.

42 Y.O MAN MESSAGED GIRL, SAYS HE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR HER TO TURN 18

0

A man that my mom rejected in back school messaged me on Facebook today, saying he’s been waiting for me to be 18…

18f here. I don’t really know where to start but, today I got a Facebook message from someone named “David” asking me if I was available to chat.

Now normally I don’t even answer random requests but I saw he had a few mutual friends with me (one being my mom) I figured if she knew him then maybe he’s not a creeper.

I reply, saying yes and asked why he was messaging me. He then says that he’s about my moms age (she’s 42) and that about their last year in school he asked her out and she sadly rejected him because she only wanted to date tall men.

I say that’s pretty unfortunate, but maybe he’s confused cause I don’t have anything to do with that. He said he’s been waiting for me to turn 18 and would’ve messaged sooner after my birthday but he’s been in jail. Yikes…

He then sends a long paragraph explaining that he has vowed ever since that day that he would marry one of her daughters and since my twin sister seemed uninterested in men, and that my older sister was far too old for him, he decided to go after me.

Meaning he’s stalked all of our profiles…..

He said my body didn’t even look like I had a kid and that he’s glad I’m so petite unlike my mother. Added that he’d gladly accept my son in our new life. I stopped him right there and said I was in a relationship and was definitely not interested in someone who was as old as my mom!

He said he had money and a house and was far better in bed than the “man child” of a boyfriend I had. That this was his chance to prove to my mom that she messed up. I stopped replying, sent the screenshots to my mom and she was mortified. We’ve both blocked him and had a good laugh.

Moral of the story, don’t keep in touch or add your rejected school friends on Facebook or else they may try to date your kids when they’re 18 :,)

AUNTIE CLIMBS ONTO GETAI STAGE TO SNATCH MIC, SAYS SHE CAN’T UNDERSTAND THE SONGS

An auntie who was drunk and frustrated at not being able to understand the songs, rushed onto the getai stage to grab the microphone and confront the singer.

The bizarre incident happened on 3 August at a getai near Bedok South Market and Food Centre, according to Shin Min Daily News.

There were about 300 people in the audience at the time of the 3-hour show, and the incident happened during the set of a singer named Xian Hong.

Stealing the show

Xian Hong was about to start her 2nd song when the auntie climbed onto the stage and shouted at her to stop, while trying to grab the microphone from her.

The show was then stopped and the host of the show, Li Peifen, then shouted for security to remove the drunken auntie.

The show then carried on and Xian Hong then finished her second song, because I mean, the show has to go on right?

First time experiencing this

Xian Hong then spoke to the media, saying that this was the first time she has encountered an incident like this in all her years of performing.

She also said that she smelled alcohol on the auntie.

Auntie wanted Hokkien songs but was rejected

Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, the drunken auntie then told them that she rushed the stage because she didn’t understand a few of the songs that were being sung.

She said that she approached the organiser to request for Hokkien songs but was rejected, and she then decided to have her very own “Kanye West VMAs” moment by cutting off the singer mid-song.

She later apologised to the organisers, who confirmed that the matter has been peacefully resolved.

MAN EARNS $100K/YR, ASKS IF IT IS “ENOUGH” FOR A FAMILY OF 4-5 IN S’PORE

0

Is a single income of 100k per year enough for a family of 4-5 to live in Singapore?

I am turning 33 this year and my wife is 1 year younger and in early pregnancy with our 1st child. We have discussed and she has plans to quit the workforce and be a full time stay home mum when the child is born.

In the last 2 of her jobs, she was unlucky to be in toxic workplaces and it has pretty stressed her out. We had also agreed that it is good she would take care and be fully present for our kids during their growing up years and it will allow me to concentrate on my career also.

We have plans to have 2-3 kids eventually. She currently earns about 60+k per year and we won’t have this income anymore in a few months’ time.

For myself, I earn slightly above 100k per year but I foresee that the future increases in the next few years won’t be substantial as I am nearing the ceiling of the market rate for my type of job. Unless I go into management or totally change industries, which is really not my preference.

Our home is currently a 5 room resale flat with monthly payment of 2.5k per month for the home and reno loan paid with CPF and cash.

We have no plans to change houses for a long time as the place is big enough even with 3 kids.

Insurance about 500+ per month for the both of us and I believe it will go up as more kids come along.

Other than these, we have no other major fixed expenses. We also have no other passive or investment income as we are not experts in investments and most of our savings have went into the house and wedding and our remaining funds need to be saved for the future kid’s expenses.

I might get a used car for transport if we have 2 or more kids, but it is still early days.

I would like to ask for any advice esp for folks with a young family and who have done it on a single income, is my income of 100k alone enough to support a family of 4-5 people in Singapore?

WIFE CALLS HUSBAND A BEGGAR AS HE’S NOT WORKING, HOUSEHOLD INCOME ONLY $2.5K

Feel like my husband is a useless lazy good for nothing.

He lost his job because of the virus and now the whole family depend on my income being only $2.5k.

We have to cut down on family expenses, going to sell away car, even may need to change childcare for my girls to a cheaper one.

Now I’m worried we may have problem paying our flat loan also. He sits at home whole day, watch tv, play games, surf net. I ask him 1 month already how come he’s still not finding work. He says he’s taking a break, now job market is very poor there’s no point looking.

Take a break?? Our savings maybe can last only less than 5 months and he still want to take a break????? He doesn’t even want to take part-time jobs. Grab? Too long never drive scared don’t know the way or accident. Grab food or food panda?

Too tiring the money not worth it. There are so many other part time or temp jobs online but he does not even bother to look. What kind of man is this?

I guess his company used this chance to ask him to leave.

He’s those nua nua relax one corner type, every now and then would fake mc to rest at home. He hardly helps with the household or take care of our girls. Most of the time I’m a one-woman show. Why do I feel sometimes I have a husband but actually don’t have a husband?

I’m scared to go back to my parent’s place now.

They will surely ask again whether he has found a new job, how come not found..I feel so ashamed. I feel like he has failed as a man, husband and father.

Feel like he’s not a man, but a useless dirty beggar.

WOMAN SAID THAT GOING TO HR DEPARTMENT IN SMALL COMPANY IS A WASTE OF TIME

0

I worked as a software developer for a company that provided 5500 dollars for training.

The only stipulation is you have to stay at the company for six months after your last training or else your last paychecks are deducted to cover the amount you used. So in my case – I used 4500 dollars by April.

Since I left before November, I won’t get paid for all of August. I signed a contract so there is no way out of this. I used so much of my budget because I loved the type of software I was developing and had every intention of staying at the company indefinitely.

I quit in July because of harassment. The type of development I was doing was on software from the B.C era so all my coworkers were over 60 and I am a 30-year-old woman.

After I used all of that training is when things really started to take a nose dive.

One man would comment on my body, ask me to go to his house, use homophobic slurs, told me he got jealous when I talked to other coworkers.

Another coworker accused me of having a dirty relationship with a guy in our office in front of my boss. This same coworker also was loudly yelling at a happy hour that he didn’t know how I was able to get this job.

Another coworker kissed my fingertips and my shoulder.

The janitor started hitting on me so eventually

Now, one might ask, “why not just go to HR”? Well, the company is super small. So going to HR for three men would mean going to HR for about 40% of my male coworkers. Also, my skill set includes java, python, SQL.

It does not include knowing how to handle a 65-year-old man kissing my fingertips. So I decided it was best to leave. And I argued I shouldn’t get my last paychecks deducted, therefore losing money for rent and food, because I left due to harassment.

My boss thought I was being ridiculous and didn’t understand how this was essentially reprimanding me for getting harassed.

CHINA GENERAL SAYS S’PORE TOO SMALL, “DIE DIE ALSO WILL NEVER BE STRONG”

0

An online netizen, @joshualimkopi, shared a TikTok video of a military general from China “dissing” Singapore for being small.

The general is apparently the founder of the Military Science Department of Nankai University.

The general was seen in the video saying that Singapore is too small, and that we will never be strong because we are too small.

He added that “you can’t even ride your bike all day without having to turn around”.

Here is what he said (translated by the netizen)

“Do you want your country to be strong? Do you know what is the foundation of a strong motherland?

Singapore will never be strong no matter how hard they try – the capital is the country, the country is the capital. You can’t even ride your bike all day without having to turn around.

Let me tell you, the foundation of a strong country is having a vast territory. Look at us, we have a land area of 9.6 million square kilometres.

The fact that you are Chinamen, are you proud? be proud of our race, be proud of our country. Only our citizens can show the world.

Withstand the burden or being condemned for our aggression, so that our future generations can enjoy and prosper.

The fruits of tomorrow can only come from our hard work today.”

Editor’s note: Ok can, whatever you say bro.
