FATHER SPENDING LOTS OF MONEY ON SICK MISTRESS, DON’T CARE ABOUT OWN FAMILY FINANCES

0

My father has a mistress on the side and the entire family knows about it. However, my mother advised me to keep quiet for the sake of maintaining the status quo and I reluctantly agree.

However, recently, the mistress developed a long-term medical condition and my father is spending alot of money to try to cure her.

As a result, our family finances are badly affected, e.g. our june family vacation had to be cancelled and the COE on my car will not be renewed.

Should I still keep quiet about the mistress or is it time for me to do something about it?

Also, another related question: Whenever the mistress is hospitalised, my father always likes to spend the night at the hospital with her.

On the other hand, when my mum or I are hospitalized,  my father never stays overnight with us.

I want to ask: Is intercourse common when someone of the opposite gender stays the night in your hotel room? In other words, I want to know whether my father is staying overnight just for the s*x or if he loves his mistress more than my mum and me.

Netizens’ comments

  1. QQ- why does your dad have to pay for your COE of your car?? Dun you work?
As for your parents, word of advice. Stay out of it. Even if you voice out your unhappiness, what kind of outcome u want? Think carefully before you blurted out everything.
  2. Your thinking is messed up. You’re more worried about getting money from your dad than him hurting your mom and the family.
And no you have no right to speak up. Your mother tells you to shut up then you shut up.

GF & MOTHER ARE UNHAPPY CAUSE MAN REFUSE TO SHARE HIS 4D WINNINGS WITH THEM

0

I won some money, $8000 to be exact from 4D on the weekend.

And my GF and mum are not happy I’m not sharing with them. My GF said if it was her she would give me half and my mum said she would treat us both if she won.

A bit of back story. I bet on 4D every week. Nothing big only what I can afford. Usually less than $5 every Saturday. My GF and mum don’t go to Singapore Pools at all. I’ve won a few times my biggest win was $2000 and I gave my girlfriend $500 then. But nothing near that big any other time

I said they won’t get any money but I’m going to treat my GF on our holiday coming up to something she wants.

My reasoning is because they never gamble I would never get any money, which I’m fine with and when I lose every week they don’t give me any money towards my losses which I don’t expect them to, so why would I give away anything when I’ve won.

Plus if I give away say $2000 to various people because of the losses I’ve made so far I wouldn’t be in that great of a position afterwards.

I’m not advocating gambling. Never risk money you can’t afford to lose.

worst thing is that after someone else gets arrowed he starts telling us how and what to do, acting like a know-it-all. just pisses me off. at least follow thru with the acting man.

GIRL FEELS THAT MARRIAGE HAS BEEN COMMERCIALIZED AND ITS A JOKE

0

I’m 23F, I’m not inherently focused on marriage and relationships as a lot of young women around me are.

I didn’t even expect to be in a relationship until I was a lot older and had myself figured out but I’ve been in a relationship for 4 1/2 years now with a very sweet man.

We’ve brought up the topics of engagements and marriage but idk…it doesn’t really do anything for me. Like marriage is something that is supposed to be about love and commitment to another individual yet its so commercialized and idealized as this “happily ever after” but it’s so unrealistic and sets such high standards.

Not to mention weddings are the biggest rip-off in human history. It’s just so fake to me, and a ring seldom reflects a person’s loyalty.

I’ve heard time and time again and have had married men reach out to me and my friends have been cheated on by their spouses and people getting divorced idk…it makes so jaded about it.

I love my partner a lot but to me marriage is a joke and doesn’t mean anything, I’d rather be with him for however long instead of marrying and going along with this system of what we are supposed to do.

Lol…does anyone else feel the same? I feel in the minority because everyone is like omg marriage!! I’m like lol no.

NETIZENS DISCUSSED THE CHEAPEST PLACE TO GET FURNITURE IN SINGAPORE

0

A netizen posted a post online asking the best places to get furniture, normally for furniture two things come to mind. Price and Quality.

Many netizens prefer to buy from local shops but many highlighted that it might be cheaper to get them from Taobao.

Here is the question posed by the netizen:

I’m moving and I need to get new furniture for my room. Should I go for the more affordable Shopee products or reliable irl furniture shops? Generally, my Shopee purchases have been decent but furniture is a whole different ball game so I’m unsure.

Here are how netizens responded on buying furniture from online stores:

  • Not a very good idea imo. Shopee gets most of its furniture from china, eg taobao. So a markup of around 10-20% of taobao prices. If you don’t mind looking at other platforms, Taobao will be a great place to get furniture. Cost wise after shipping+delivery is like 30-40% cheaper than SG retail places. Cons is its all in mandarin and you need to find your own 3pf to ship. Quality is assured tho.
  • My furniture is mostly from Hipvan, Shopee, and Taobao. Hipvan has a good return policy so I feel more assured purchasing the more expensive items. Quality is also good! I went to their showroom to see some of the items before purchasing. I got my bed, and bed frame from there. My work desk, lounge chair is from Taobao. My tip is to look through the reviews posted. Do not purchase if there is no review. For a better estimation on shipping price, can try asking the seller for packaging dimensions. I use the official sea shipping for it. My work chair and book cabinet is from Shopee. Same as Taobao, look at online reviews and I usually get from Singapore based sellers in case have any issues with the products. Technically most of the things are made in China but Shopee refund policy is pretty good and fast.
  • if you don’t mind lightly used furniture, i would highly suggest carousell. LOTS of good deals, can check the condition before buying, and you’ll be helping someone get rid of furniture they don’t need!
  • I did use shopee to buy a sofa. I more like used shopee to find the stores in Singapore, that sold furniture in the style I wanted, within my budget. I visited a few of those stores. Then I ended up ordering from shopee anyways coz it worked out cheaper than purchasing from the showroom.

Conclusion

Taobao is the best option as it is one of the cheapest, but there are several drawbacks such as delivery time, damage in midst of delivery and unable to test the item.

Coming in at number 2 Carousell for the cheapest option but the item could be worned out.

3. Go to a furniture shop, able to see and feel it but unable to get a good deal.

LANDLADY ASKING $300 ON TOP OF $2800 RENT FOR INSTALLING PORTABLE AIRCON

0

Just to be clear I rented a 1 room condominium ($2,800 per month) with aircon that was not cold at all, meaning I am the only one staying there and not sharing the apartment with the landlady and I am paying the utilities so I have the right to use as much electricity as I want.

I had a literal landlady from hell (I guess she melted the aircon). She would just come in whenever. Initially, she denied coming in, so I set up a camera. She got mad at me when I showed her going in when she said she didn’t. Sometimes she would go in there when I WAS there, under my covers, NAKED.

She called the Police one time on me when I had FIVE people in my apartment. This was in 2016, not covid era. She yelled at me for throwing a party. five people eating dinner is not a party.

She would sometimes turn off my water. I would find the valve to turn it back on. Sometimes while I was sleeping, I woke up and realised the aircon has been turned off. She would turn it off for no reason.

Called my father, my emergency contact on my lease, to complain about me. (I was 30 at the time)

She also called the Police on my friend’s car, who parked 1 minute at the condominium lobby for passing me some food.

So when the weather was getting a bit hot and the existing aircon did not work well I bought a portable aircon and it requires no drilling whatsoever. She found out about a week later and demanded I pay her an additional $300 a month for the aircon.

She claimed that I was damaging her apartment… So I had no choice but to move out.

And when I was moving out, She invited people to look at the apartment when again, I was sleeping naked in my bed. I worked nights. I opened my eyes and there were three people standing in my bedroom like it was normal.

During the raid, there were several foreign women who tried to escape but were caught by the operatives. There were also some patrons who tried to provoke the authorities by challenging the operation officer and hurled vulgarities.
