There I was having dinner with my son when I notice them. A couple sitting near us. Both of them glued to their phones minding their own business while munching their food. Zero interaction.

My first impression with them was harsh. “Going out on a date and still on their phones? What’s the point?” Then suddenly the boy show the girl something on the phone and the girl responded with a smile.

I notice the guy’s dressing. Tee shirt with some anime characters, jeans. He is a typical geeky looking guy. No toned muscles or good physic, thick glasses, abit messy hair. He definately didn’t work out or groom himself much. A typical guy that look like he spend alot of time indoors.

The girl? Typical nerdy girl. Golden specs, ponytail. Wearing light color sleeved tee shirt and mid length shorts. Neat socks and shoes. She is not gorgeous and make-up looks minimal. No guys will give her a 2nd look.

I can see both of them with their shopping bags, from a nearby shop selling Japanese anime novelties and toys. I concluded they like watching anime and reading mangas.

The guy is explaining or discussing something to the girl. I hear it’s something about some anime series. The boy got very technical, sharing the plot, the character and whatnot. He basically geeked out in his conversation. If he is talking to normal folks, everyone would be bored to death.

But the girl, she is listening intentively. I can see she is engaging and her eyes glittering. She is enjoying the conversation.

There they are, enjoying each other’s company yet take breaks in between while checking out their phones. I realised this is how introverts communicate. They need their own space but also enjoy other’s company, as long as their space is maintained.

They were very cute in my eyes. This also prove that anyone deserves love regardless if your looks or your hobbies. I hope their relationship continue to flourish and go further. To prove that even nerds or plain looking people can find love.

Yep, pretty much as the title said. I remember always finding the guys in motorcycle racing and motocross insanely attractive.

I’d just assumed I found the sport cool, and by extension the guys attractive until I realised that it applied to really any full mask, paintball masks, full face helmets, jet fighter pilot/pilot helmets, heck even ski mask.

Characters like deadpool were where I realised that it was the masked element I found so hot. Idk what it is maybe it’s the whole mystery aspect of it.

Anywayyy, I don’t know what this says about me and I’ve been too embarrassed to bring it up in person so It’s going to probably stay a fantasy. But goddamn would I like to F a guy in a mask.

Had this been an ex, I feel it gets deleted when the relationship does unless someone consents to you keeping it, but this is his dead wife, whom he loved dearly and had intimacy with for nearly 20 years.

For context she died 14 months ago from a rare aggressive cancer that went from diagnosis to death in 5 months; her last wish was that he let someone in again as he is a strong, stoic loner.

She is still the screen saver on his phone, his WhatsApp photo is still one of their old photos, I see and compliment his wedding photos that are still around the house, I am well aware and have made peace as much as I can given the current situation.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Do I keep my mouth shut and just file it away in the petty folder? Thanks immensely!

I (f37) guess I’m happier now than before my husband(m47) cheated on me.

Since our daughter was born 4 years ago we barely slept together. I didn’t feel I wanted it the first 6 months or so but when I finally got back my drive, he wasn’t into me anymore.

I had gained weight and probably that was an issue for him. Or maybe he stopped loving me. A year after I found out that he was sleeping with a married colleague of his. Now I knew why he didn’t want to sleep with me.

I was alone couldn’t afford it on my own with a child. For 2 years I kept my mouth shut about knowing about his affair, I just took care of my baby, threw myself into work and started to make friendships outside of his friend group.

I joined a Facebook group for girls in need of friends. I met amazing women and one of them even got me a new and better job. I lost all my baby weight and more during that time because of how awful I felt about my husband’s affair. 30 kilos gone.

At my new job I met a guy (m36) and I started my own affair. He’s amazing and he knew exactly my situation. I didn’t hide anything from him. He was happy with this arrangement since he didn’t want to be in a serious relationship.

Now 6 months later I guess I’m the happiest I’ve been since I got pregnant. My happiness and optimism must’ve shown at home (not to mention the weight loss) because my husband loves the new me now and he even started taking interest in me again.

I don’t need to sleep with him because I have my own and fulfilling life but it’s so good to feel wanted. We have slept together on several occasions but I’m not as keen on him as I used to be.

I don’t know how long this happiness will last but I intend to enjoy every minute of it because I know that all good things come to an end.
