So I moved in with my partner about 2 and half years ago, I didn’t know anyone in the area and seen that his neighbour who we will call Jane was around our age, just alittle bit older (28) and she seemed nice so I thought I’d get to know her and maybe become friends.
We ended up becoming really good friends for about a year, at this point she had 2 dogs and was properly caring for them but then the friendship ended in a big argument due to conflict about how she takes care of her pets after one of the dogs had puppies and she kept one and started treating them differently.
She currently has 4 big dogs and 2 cats and she now keeps the dogs in kennels in the garden, all day everyday no matter what the weather is like , the kennels are bigish for 1 dog but they have 2 each in so they are quite small for them, (these are BIG dogs) , the cats don’t get let in the house at all and are fed once a day by jane putting the wet food on the floor outside which is filthy, she’s constantly breeding the girl dogs and when they have the puppies , they are also kept outside in the kennels making them even smaller and she sometimes keeps atleast one of the puppies , sometimes 2 and then eventually will randomly get rid of one of them or both of them, her 2 cats are female and are constantly having kittens which jane puts into a cage and leaves them in the garden with the dogs , even if it’s raining or really cold , it doesn’t matter , they are always outside!
She has quite a big 4 bedroom house and it’s just her and her husband , they don’t have any children , so it’s not like she hasn’t got the room to atleast keep the kittens or puppies inside , she says she just doesn’t want the animals in her house ruining things so I told her that she shouldn’t have pets if she isn’t going to take on the responsibilities that come with them, we argued and haven’t spoke in a couple of months.
She hasn’t changed the way she looks after her pets and it really upsets me seeing them constantly outside, when it rains I always hear them crying wanting to go inside because they are cold and wet. I feel like reporting her to so hopefully these animals will either go to a home that would actually love and care for them or they will scare her into actually caring for them, they are such sweet animals and would never hurt anyone and I feel like they deserve better than this! I said this to my partner and he told me not to in case the SPCA tell her who reported it and it causes drama between neighbours.
