SG GIRL THROWS RESPONSIBILITY OF BABY TO PRC HUSBAND

0

So my husband is 29 and I’m 23. He’s from China and I’m a local Singaporean so let me know if you think this is cultural. We have a 6mo/F baby who’s amazing. Generally calm, quiet, doesn’t cry too much, etc.

So in the past, I would take care of her when she woke up throughout the night and then when she woke up at 6 am. I pitched a fit about having to do that so now he gets up in the night and I take care of her in the early mornings. It looks something like this:

6am-10am: I take care of her while he sleeps and she’ll take her 1st nap 10am-10:30am: I have to wake him up and he often does not want to and procrastinates getting up. Gets in a bad mood if I wake him up too “forcefully”. 10:30am: she’ll usually take her 2nd nap.

11:30am: she wakes up and we take care of her “together”. “Together” meaning he’ll change her diaper or help me if I ask him to. 12:30pm: he’ll cook and eat lunch and I’ll cook and eat my lunch. I take care of her while he eats and cooks and while I eat and cook he lets her watch Chinese baby shows.

2pm: he takes her to have a nap with him together 3:30pm: he goes to the gym alone and she wakes up near this time 5pm: he comes back 6pm: get her ready for bed. 7pm: bed He works Friday from 3:30pm-10pm and Sundays from 10am-3:30pm. He also is the one who changes 80% of the diapers and puts her down for her nap 80% of the time to give him credit.

This morning she was refusing to sleep for her 1st nap so I went upstairs to ask him to help me get her to sleep.

He didn’t want to wake up and didn’t answer me. I turned her camera monitor up so he could hear her crying. He got pissed, grabbed it and muted it and slammed it down. I grabbed it, walked over to the dresser, turned it up to max volume and slammed it down.

He woke up pissed and yelled, “What?! Do you not want me to sleep?!” So I got pissed and started getting our baby ready for a car ride which was my last chance at getting her to take a nap.

Before I left, he finally came downstairs and grabbed her car seat and started to take her out (to take her upstairs to try and help her sleep). I was pissed enough I said, “that’s not stopping me.” And I left still, drove around for a while and came back once I was calm. They’re asleep together upstairs

Am I wrong?

Investigations revealed that these individuals purportedly relinquished their Singpass credentials for promised monetary gains between $100 and $500.

Some of them did not receive any monetary benefits as the recipients of their credentials turned evasive after successfully opening the bank accounts.

FAMILY CLOSE TO EX-WIFE, IGNORES MENTAL NEEDS OF OWN SON

0

Hey everyone, so basically my ex-spouse and I split up last year. Together for about 5 years. We have a child together and have been great with co-parenting, however, my family remains oddly close with her.

They were close before, which I understand, but because they continue it hurts me deeply. I’ve reached out multiple times to communicate how this makes me feel but they usually just say what I want to hear, then continue to be close with my ex anyways.

For context, the ways they are inappropriately too close: – inviting them over for dinner, inviting them over to go swimming, having a family group chat that does not include me (there was one previously that ex was removed from, but after another was made behind my back) that has a profile picture of all of us hugging, which hurts me & my current partner to see.

While they say its to maintain peace for their grandchild, they could do this in ways that don’t hurt me.

They barely ever invite me over anymore and if they wanted that time with their grandchild, they could have tried to reach out to me instead of my ex as its 50/50 custody and they’re MY parents.

They also haven’t put in much effort into getting to know my current partner. I tried last night to reach out one last time before I remove myself from this emotional pain & mental strain and was met with one of my parents laughing at me while I had tears rolling down my face, not hearing me out and blowing it out of proportion.

I never said they had to completely cut my ex out of their lives, thats unrealistic since we have a child. I just wanted healthier boundaries that don’t cause me to feel so depressed. I was told that I am losing my mind, and now I feel completely helpless & like I’m crazy even though I think any normal person would feel this way- and to top off that feeling, now I don’t even have a family beside my child and my partner.

Until they can see my side of things, I can’t be around them any longer for my own mental health. I need to know, am I crazy?

Please, I need an outsider’s perspective.

FATHER FORCED TO SELL PROPERTY AFTER DIVORCE, SON BECOMES HOMELESS

0

A man shared a story about how he became homeless after the separation of his parents and he blames his mother for his broken childhood.

He stated that the divorce was caused by her mother’s gambling habits.

Here is the story:

Im 25 this year and I stayed with my father at the same home since I was a child. However, when I was in primary school my mother moved out and soon they divorce.

The mother paid a very minor share in the flat we stay in but she did not ask my father to sell it.

So fast forward to 2 years ago, my mother is in need of money and forced my father to either sell the house or pay her sure of the HDB.

My mother needed the money as she has a problem with gambling, this was what triggered the divorce in the first place.

So my mother ran out of money and now my father is forced to sell it. His selling the home means that I will be homeless and he intends to move to Vietnam as he already has a home and family there.

After dragging here and there, my father finally sold the house and I am out renting a flat. How often do you hear about Singaporeans that need to rent their own property?

So I am basically homeless and have been shifting here and there finding rental rooms to stay.

Although I am not very poor and I am able to afford to pay the property rent I wished none of this had happened.

Whenever a couple gets into a fight and breakup up, next comes the splitting of property and finally, the children suffer.

My mother told me, she never had the intention of selling the home. My mother said she waited I was old enough to feed myself before selling it.

I told her “What difference does it make? Because of your dirty habits I grew up in a broken home and now I’m homeless”.

Even after getting her share of the sold property, she splurge all the money at MBS and now she has the cheek to come ask me for money.

Amy Khor also added that at present, there are no plans yet to set up additional non-smoking areas, as it requires significant buy-in from stakeholders and operational resources to implement.

MAHATHIR – LOSING PEDRA BRANCA TO S’PORE NO BIG DEAL, JUST A SMALL ROCK

Mahathir Mohamad, the former prime minister of Malaysia, said in a Facebook post in an attempt to explain his remarks about reclaiming Singapore and the Riau Islands, saying that he was “mocking” the idea.

He cited Pedra Branca and referred to it as Pulau Batu Puteh, claimed that reports quoting him were “not accurate”.

Mahathir’s statement

OUT OF CONTEXT

1. The report on what I said at the meeting with Malays is not accurate. I am not asking Malaysia to claim the land that we had lost. I am trying to point out that we are so concerned over losing a table-size rock but never about bigger parts of Malaysia when they were taken from us. Losing Pulau Batu Puteh is no big deal. It was the mistake of the Johore Government to deny that the rock belonged to Johor. Had that denial not been made, there would be no dispute now.

2. We should be grateful that the world court awarded Pulau Ligitan and Sipadan to us. They are much more valuable than Pulau Batu Puteh – just a rock outcrop. We should be thankful that Indonesia has not disputed the award. Really, we are not grateful for our gains.

Pedra Branca (or Pulau Batu Puteh, according to Mahathir)

Singapore currently holds sovereignty over Pedra Branca after a ruling by the International Court of Justice in 2008.

Mahathir claimed that Malaysia “lost” Pedra Branca to Singapore but it is worth highlighting that they didn’t “lose” the “table-sized rock” to Singapore because the sovereignty of the island was not transferred from Malaysia to Singapore – the ICJ ruled that Pedra Branca belonged to Singapore all along.

S’PORE MOTHER ARRESTED FOR TAKING DRUGS AT HOME WHILE TAKING CARE OF INFANT SON

The Central Narcotic Bureau (CNB) said in a statement on Facebook that a Singapore mother was arrested at home after taking drugs while taking care of her 9-month-old baby son.

The woman was the sole caregiver of the infant, and the baby was found near drugs during the operation at her unit.

Officers found the woman consuming crystal methamphetamine (Ice) near her baby, and various drug paraphernalia were found in the open.

They described the living conditions as being “squalid”.

The child was then brought back to the station and provided with childcare necessities like milk powder by the officers.

The baby has since been handed over to the Ministry of Social and Family Development as the child’s grandparents can’t take care of him, while the mother will be sent to the Drug Rehabilitation Centre (DRC).

CNB summed up their post saying that these scenes are a stark reminder that those who deal in drugs destroy lives.

WOMAN MEAN TO NEW COLLEAGUE, YRS LATER COLLEAGUE BECOMES HER JOB INTERVIEWER

0

When I took on my first job, I met a difficult colleague. She talks over me, never acknowledge my name, was mean to me when she gets a chance.

I was new to the job so when I had questions she would call me stupid and be mean and not tell me the answer.

I stayed for another 2 years before leaving because as much as I try to ignore her attitude towards me and try to improve, I find as long as she’s around she will not stop treating me like a stupid newbie.

She was seniority conscious and I was the last staff the company hired even after 2 years so she kept treating me like a noob. As more staff left, she was throwing more work at me even though we hold the same position. I couldn’t take it and left too.

Fast forward 8 years later. I went to a new company and did fairly well. We survived covid and I also survived retrenchment and got promoted after (even though the pay increase wasn’t much, I am happy where I am)

We had a recruitment exercise recently with me being part of the team in charge and guess who came to interview? She looked shocked the moment she entered the interview room and saw me sitting in the center out of 3 interviewers.

She greeted me by my name and called me Miss. Wow. To think last time she called me ‘oei’ for 2 years even though I had been wearing a name tag.

I didn’t show any sign of recognizing her and started the interview. She did her best to try to impress us. When it was over I guess she knew she’s not going to get the job. She messaged me after and tried to be friends and talked as though we have catching up to do. I just said it was nice to see her and left the rest unanswered.

She wasn’t a good fit for the job and we didn’t call her back for another round of interview. I wonder if she had any regret of being mean to me in the past.

Karma vibes is strong here. One thing I learnt from her: Don’t be mean to anyone. You never know if you need this person’s kindness and grace in the future. I don’t care if she changed or not and I’m not interested to find out.
