GUY ACCUSES P.A FOR BEING RACIST, FORMER MP AMRIN AMIN CALLS HIM A SNOWFLAKE

The People’s Association (PA) released a statement on Facebook (14 June), responding to Sarah Bagharib and rejecting her accusations of racism, after the PA used her wedding photo as part of Hari Raya decorations, without her permission.

The PA used her wedding photo without permission and cut out her (and her husband’s) faces to use as photo stand-in as part of their Hari Raya decorations.

The PA then withdrew their offer of meeting up with Sarah because they believe that from her “actions”, her purpose of meeting them has gone “far beyond” the original incident.

Netizens were displeased with the PA, as a result.

Amin then shared the PA’s Facebook post, along with his two-cents on the matter:

A Facebook user then commented on Amin’s post and said that “just because you don’t see it as racist don’t mean the rest of us minorities have to agree with you. Stop being out of touch.”

To which Amin said:

Netizens then jumped to the Facebook user’s defence, condemning Amin’s behaviour and choice of words.

“BADGE” WOMAN SAYS SHE SHOULD BE “GRANTED IMMUNITY AS A CITIZEN”

Screenshot from TODAYonline’s YouTube video and @Singapore_incidents on IG

Phoon Chiu Yoke, 53-years-old, told the court on 15 June that she should be “granted immunity” because of the “past cases” that she faced while serving in the Singapore Armed Forces.

Once again, she highlighted to the court that she was a former naval officer with the Singapore Navy.

She said that she was an “eyewitness” to many “grave matters” in the SAF that she cannot disclose in a public court without “causing embarrassment to the SAF or the government”.

Phoon said:

“There were a few occasions when I was an ex-plaintiff to the SAF… so I cannot write representations to AGC (Attorney-General’s Chambers) without being prejudicial or causing embarrassment to SAF or the Government of Singapore.”

“Due to all these cases in the past I should be granted immunity as a citizen and as a ex-naval professional officer, it’s also not possible to take all these charges in court because it’s difficult to have a fair hearing because of all these cases.”

Phoon then highlighted that she was the “first female commanding officers” and she served 12 years in the Navy.

District Judge Janet Wong then said that her past SAF history was irrelevant.

Phoon then said that she begs to differ because of the “grave matters in the previous charges during her time in the SAF”.

The case has been adjourned to 6 July.
