A 3-year-old girl was drowning and submerged at the bottom of a swimming pool when an off-duty police officer, discovered her predicament and leapt to her rescue, saving her life.

The officer, Sergeant Al Asyraf Bin Azman, a ground response officer from N anyang Neighbourhood Police Centre, was out with his friends at a hotel for a swim.

He molested an 11-year-old girl in a cinema, and he got her to send him nude pictures of herself.

The old man forgot how to go home but apparently remembered his son’s name and phone number, allowing the good samaritan to give the old man’s son, Derick Khoo, a call.

Khoo had initially thought it was a scam call, so he called home and confirmed with his mother that his dad was really out of the house.

The old man and the stranger were on the MRT at the time, Jun Jie then told Khoo that he will be booking a Grab ride for the old man to go home, and then he passed $20 to the old man to pay the fare.

Khoo then asked his mom to wait at the void deck for his dad.

Derick then shared the encounter on Facebook to thank the kind hearted gentleman who helped his dad home.

Khoo wrote that he was “Really 感恩 (grateful)”.

Khoo then added:

“Thankful to this kind man for helping my dad even though we don’t know each other.”

SCAMMERS CHEAT PEOPLE MONEY BY OFFERING GOLD AT DISCOUNT

According to the police, there is a scam circulating on Whatsapp whereby scammers promote the selling of gold bars at a discount to victims, who never receive the gold after payment was made.

The scammers used hacked Whatsapp accounts belonging to the victim’s friends to communicate with the victims.

The scammers fabricated a story whereby they bought gold at a cheap price that was seized by Singapore customs and was being auctioned off, which allowed them to sell for 30% cheaper than the market rate.

They even provided a fake invoice issued by Singapore Customs.

“Always call your friend to verify the authenticity of the request, but do not do so through WhatsApp as the account might have been taken over by scammers,” said the police.

“If the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Purchase only from authorised sellers or reputable sources, especially for high-value items.” the police added
