The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) issued a media release on 27 May about the recall of two food products due to the presence of undeclared allergens.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has issued two food recall alerts due to the presence of undeclared allergens. The affected products are Chris’ Homestyle Plant Based Spring Onion Dairy Free Vegan 200g Dip (due to the presence of undeclared milk allergen) and Hanami Toasted Prawn Cracker (Original Flavour) (due to the presence of undeclared allergens molluscs [squid], milk and/or soy). As the implicated products were imported into Singapore, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has directed the respective importers, Kaiser Foods (Singapore) Pte Ltd and Yen Investments Pte Ltd, to recall the products. The recalls are ongoing.
2 Allergen in food could result in allergic reaction in individuals who are sensitive to it. Under the Sale of Food (Food Regulation), food products containing ingredients that are known to cause hypersensitivity must be declared on food packaging labels to safeguard public health.
3 The presence of milk allergen, and molluscs [squid] and/or soy allergens do not pose a food safety issue to consumers at large, except for those who are allergic to milk, molluscs [squid] and soy respectively.
4 Consumers who have purchased the affected products, and who are allergic to milk, molluscs [squid], or soy should not consume it. Those who have consumed the implicated products and have concerns about their health should seek medical advice. Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiries.
A netizen shared how his family’s pet Shih Tzu’s dead body was found inside a trash compactor after going missing while they were out at work.

Dying is normal part of life. Not being to bring family home to rest, is a whole other thing.
As much as we do not like to call people or entities out, there is no way I will keep quiet about this for the sake of other pet owners out there.
Yesterday our family dog Cindy, passed away due to misadventure at the void deck of Blk 214 Lorong 8 Toa Payoh and was found by a members of public in the afternoon. We were all out for work so we only knew she was missing after we returned.
After sister and mom handed out flyers to find cindy, and finding Cindy’s collar in the void deck. We got a call and picture taken at 1.55pm to verify it was Cindy with her collar on the floor beside her.
We later found out from EMSU that Bishan Toa Payoh town council was informed earlier about the body and was taken away. But we were not sure where.
This morning, after calling the town council, we learnt the horrible news that Cindy was thrown into a trash compactor the day before, as ‘no one claimed the body’. Mind you, we were all at work and my parents and sister only started looking for Cindy after 6.30pm.
With no calls, indications or signs where to retrieve her, a 6hr window was all it took for a town council officer to decide that a trash compactor was right place to dispose our dog.

– Town Council Officer gave the go ahead to the cleaner to throw our dog into the trash compactor.
This morning, my sister and mum managed to get the cleaner, town council officer and the supervisor of the trash disposal place near my parents house. They said we cannot retrieve the body nor can they retrieve it for us. We gave our points above but currently we have filed a complaint to AVS and is currently investigating with the town council.
Cindy was family to us. We failed her by not bringing her back home with us to rest. No pet deserves to be treated like rubbish. We cannot do much for her at this point. But we can prevent this from happending.
But my family and I demands some answers on why did this happen. This is no way to treat our pets, even if they have passed. And unless we have answers and accountability taken by the necessary parties, I will not hesitate to blow this matter over personally from the top down.
Shame on you guys who decided to not treat our dog’s body with some respect.

As much as it is an internal issue, we owe it to everyone who owns a pet, whom they treat as family, that we be the force to drive change.
Thank you SPCA Singapore for reaching out to me personally and offering to make a difference from the top down. Thank you for stepping in and offering to push to have a change in protocol to make sure this never happens again.
Thank you also GM of Bishan Toa Payoh Town Council for reaching out to me and organising a meeting and visiting us tonight at my parents home in toa payoh. All we want is some accountability in this matter and proper protocols are in place.
Again, I owe it to everyone to provide an update on how this will be handled in the future for peace of mind for all pet owners out there.
On a final note, as my family is grieving this matter, please redirect all communications and queries to myself as I will represent my family as the main spokesperson, to ease the stress on my family.

One night I was alone at home and drinking some whiskey as I started texting my husband, asking him about how things were in Singapore while i was gone.
We texted throughout the night and I got more drunk, and we started sending naughty photos to one another.
I took a few selfies of myself in VERY VULNERABLE positions, and sent them to him, but got no replies so I thought he was “using” the photo for his own pleasure.
I then slowly fell asleep.
The next morning, I opened my Whatsapp to see the photos that I had sent him and saw that his last message to me was “you there?” and I didn’t reply.
To my horror, I realised that I had actually send the photos to his mother instead, and she had seen it (there were the two blue ticks at the bottom).
My husband assured me that everything was fine and that his mother probably understands that it was a mistake.
I really don’t know how to react to this, and I am very embarrassed and don’t know how I am going to face my mother-in-law when i return.

A video emerged online showing a screenshot of a chat, where a man asked a woman who is purportedly a man out on a date, but got rejected.
The video was captioned: “you no money, maid also reject u”.
The man started off asking the woman “hi dear, what doing (SIC)”, to which the maid replied “yes anything” (presumed to be conveyed as “yes? anything?”)
The guy then asked her if they could meet again tomorrow, offering to go shopping and buy clothes and shoes for her.
The maid then asked if he is sure, and the guy said “yes of course dear”, telling her to “choose what she like”.
However, he told her that his salary is coming on the 1st of June, and asked her if she could pay for it first and he will pay her back when he gets his pay.

I recently dated a Singaporean guy and eventually he become my bf. He did pay for the first date and all.
But subsequently in the relationship, he did hint to split 50 50 and want me to take parts of my share. He send me home everytime initially , but after we get together, no more.

Well… As ladies we believe that we are capable of paying our own meals. However, we would want to date a guy who will pay for dates. We offer to pay and go on dutch is one thing. However, having gentleman traits is another. Especially is BF status. And if the guy is stingy looking at everything 50-50 then is ok. Is a sign of not a long term partner. So imagine married and we have to split 50-50 for all utilities, grocery, kids expenses and so on. Then we get ourselves a roommate and not husband. As will they split pregnancy with a 50-50? A video emerged online showing a Toyota Alphard cutting off a motorcyclist during a lane merge, and a confrontation between the driver and the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was seen in the video catching up to the driver and confronting him, asking “you trying to do what? You trying to kill people?”
The incident happened along Upper Serangoon Road on 8 May, at about 5.07pm, and it was captured on the dashcam of the motorcyclist.
Potential penalties
Drivers who drive in a manner that is dangerous to the public is guilty of an offence under section 64(1) of the Road Traffic Act (RTA).
Persons found guilty face a jail term of up to 1 year and/or a $5,000 fine.
If the driver causes hurt, he faces a jail term of up to 2 years and a fine of $10,000.
If the driver caused grievous hurt, he faces a jail term of between 1 to 5 years and disqualified from driving for at least 8 years.
If the driver’s actions caused death, he faces a jail term of up to 2 to 8 years and disqualified from driving for at least 10 years.
Minister of State for Home Affairs, and Sustainability and the Environment, Desmond Tan, said in a Facebook post that there is enough supply of chicken for everyone in Singapore.
He urged people not to hoard and buy responsibly, explaining that surge buying will empty shelves in the short term as the supply chain will require time to catch up.
He assuaged fears of shortages, saying that Singapore still has supplies of the remaining 70% of frozen chicken from other countries (the impacted 30% of chicken supplies comes from Malaysia).
