Mohamed Taha Ahmad, 60-years-old, was jailed 14 months for outrage of modesty of a victim under 14.
He reportedly pretended to ask the 12-year-old boy for help, bringing the victim to a staircase landing where he then pulled down the boy’s shorts and grabbed his genitals without his consent.
He first approached the victim at Bedok bus interchange and discovered that the boy was going to visit a friend.
He boarded the same bus as the boy and chatted with him about his school.
The victim then alighted at a bus stop at Bedok North, Taha then followed suit and alighted with him.
Taha did not live in the area and his reason for alighting was to follow the boy.
He asked the victim if he had time to chat and brought him to a void deck, where he asled the boy if he could help him with “something” without specifying what is it.
The two then took a lift, where Taha then asked him what size his undewear was, which shocked the boy.
He then offered the victim $10 for him to check the victim’s underwear size, the boy took the money without saying anything.
Taha then asked the boy to sit at a staircase landing and asked him to “open” after checking that no one else was around.
The boy didn’t know what he meant, and Taha then pulled the boy’s shorts and underwear from the front to look at his exposed genitals.
The boy then pulled himself away, asking Taha what was he doing.
Taha then pulled his shorts and underwear from the back to look at his buttocks.
The boy told the old man that he didn’t like what he was doing, Taha then grabbed the boy’s genitals over his shorts without warning.
