A 17-year-old student is facing charges for armed robbery after he armed himself with a knife and rob a woman in 2020.

The teenager committed the crime before his 18th birthday and therefore he is covered under the Children and Young Persons Act and cannot be named.

The student is still studying at Ngee Ann Poly.

The victim thought that she was going to die

According to court documents, the accused committed the crime on 3rd October 2020 at about 1 AM at Lengkong Tiga HDB estate (Jalan Kembangan). Court documents stated that the victim was in a state of “in fear of death” when the crime happened.

Bail was set for the teenager at $15,000 and the case will continue on 21 April 2021. For committing armed robbery, the sentence can go up to 14 years of jail time along with 12 strokes of the rotan.

said Minister for Home Affairs K Shanmugam replying to queries of MP Gan Thiam Poh when he asked for statistics of the 5 roads.

Mr. Gan also said that the authorities should also clamp down on vehicles that are not street legal which makes excessive noise.

Mr Gan said: “For Sengkang West Way, the Traffic Police is also studying the feasibility of deploying a speed camera to increase deterrence,”

What are the penalties for speeding

Other penalties includes fines, prosecutions and even suspension of license. The worse penalty could be getting into an accident causing harm to others or yourself and love ones.

A man recently shared his frightening experience on the Facebook page SCPG after encountering a female spirit at Block 508 Bedok North Avenue 3 during his younger days. An elderly man warned him about it but he ignored the man’s advice which led to him sharing the lift with the spirit.

Years ago, before the HDB conduct its Lift upgrading program, most of the flats have lifts at one central location & be shared by all residents. We can always see residents gathering under the block from morning till night. It kind of contributes to security & bonding.

When I lived in 508 Bedok North Ave 3, the lift lobby serving the residents consist of lifts A, B & C with lift landing only available on 1st, 5th, 9 & 13 floors. During those days before the LUP, the lifts do not have a window panel. Every morning, we may meet the same group of neighbours from uncles, aunties, kids & even chio bu. Every day, I will get to chit chat with this neighbour on the 13 floor, who lived just beside the lift landing. We always greet him as Ali Uncle, a jovial, friendly & religious man who always recites his prayer. When I was around 17, working pt in the night scene (Peppermint Park in Parkway Parade).

Almost every night I will come back after 2 am. One afternoon before heading to work, as usual, I will need to walk past his house & always talk to him while waiting for the lift. That day, he suddenly calls out to me “Boy, I see you come back late every night, working huh? I remembered I answer him “Yes, Ali uncle.” He straightaway in a very stern look, look at me & said “Boy, please do not take lift A after midnight.” I asked him why. He told me “There is a female ghost appear in lift A after midnight. I just in a way telling him “Hello Ali uncle, ghost do not take lift la. They fly.”, but he keeps reminding me please do not take lift A after midnight, there are few of our neighbors in this flat saw this female ghost & he told me who & who met her at night. I just say ok but did not take his advice seriously.

Weeks later, when I again back late after 2 am. It was a cooling night after the rain. When I reach the lift lobby, I lookup & saw the sign indicate: Lift A – arrow down from level 9lift B & C stationed at the higher floor.

So automatically, I proceed & walk towards lift A, without even bother to press for the lift, with my Walkman playing some rock song, I looked up, 9… 5… 1… I step one side waiting between lifts A & B not wanting to scare whoever in the lift is coming out. Seconds later, the lift door open, but in my mind “Aye. no people.” after few seconds no one come out. So, I walk in, but the moment I turn my head wanting to access the buttons for my floor at 13, there she was! A lady in white with long hair, her face is pale & slightly bow head, standing at the corner beside the button panel! I look at her, goosebumps & chills all over me, I shouted “F…! YOU SCARE ME!”

Next moment, without looking at me or perhaps she’s blind or deaf, she moves forward & I step back to a corner with my heart pounding fast. While I look at her, my mind is blank, do not know what should I do or react if she comes nearer, but she just out of the lift & turn left in a split sec to the other side of the block (I don’t know she walks or float). A few seconds later, I use my hand to force stop the lift by hitting it with a loud “Bang”, wanting to know is a human or ghost, I hurry step out of the lift, take a quick look & walk round of the lift lobby, but she is nowhere to be seen. The next day, I told Ali uncle about what happened the night before, he scolded me for not listen to him, say a prayer for me. From that day onwards, for the next 13 years, till I moved out of Bedok, I never took Lift A after midnight alone. Till to date, I still do not know she is a human or a ghost. But people do tell me to avoid going to the other corner of the blk beside the power station, I did not ask why & never want to find out.
