I’m (30M) freaking out. I thought we had a happy marriage. We’ve been married for 6 years and dating for 10. Edit: We started dating when I was 20 and she was 23.

My wife (33F) and I have always been very open with each other. We share passwords and have never hidden anything. When we have disagreements we get through it together. We’ve never screamed or yelled at each other. We’re in couples and individual therapy, not because of anything wrong with our relationship but because we want to make sure that we’re happy. My wife always says better prevention than cure.

Yesterday, she left her laptop open and I saw she was looking up new york divorce papers and how to see if someone was cheating. There was 5 or 6 six tabs open. I pretended I didn’t see anything and but went into the bathroom and threw up. I’ve been shaking in anxiety and my wife has noticed I haven’t left her side and she’s asked me if anything was wrong.

Readers I’ve NEVER cheated and never even thought of cheating. I don’t even watch stuff. I don’t even know how she could think I would betray her like this.

If it’s the opposite and she’s cheating, I don’t even know how she would do it because even if she didn’t love me she doesn’t even have the time. I checked her phone and computer and she doesn’t have anything previously downloaded, there’s nothing fishy and nothing suggesting even an emotional affair. She’s been incredibly affectionate. She loves me and would never hurt me. So it’s me she thinks.

I have a part time bakery catering business I run from home and she works from home for literally 70-80 hour work weeks and is the breadwinner. We haven’t left each other’s side and I love it that way. Covid was actually good for us because we could spend so much time together.

My wife is the love of my life. I’m in the process of being diagnosed and looking at symptoms online I’m pretty sure she’s my Favorite Person (FP). It’s unhealthy but she’s never complained about me being clingy or overbearing. I don’t know why she would want a divorce.

I’m afraid to talk to her about it because what if she starts thinks of divorcing me and realizes that she’s so much better and deserves so much more and just leaves. I feel like like somehow talking about the d word will manifest it and ruin all the happiness I have. I wished I never saw it.

Today she joked that we’d literally melt together because I haven’t stopped holding her all morning. I’m afraid that I’ll fall asleep and she’ll disappear from my life.

My own recent experience: looking for love on a dating app, matched, set up a date, but the match tried to use the date to do financial planning.

To be clear, I’m not here to hate on insurance or insurance agents, but to call out the unsavoury sales tactics that some agents use. I believe that insurance is an important part of the financial system, without which many lives would have been ruined.

• Lmfao, mine was funny asf. half a year after ORD, i get this message asking to meetup from a friend. I was half wary, knowing that this guy studies Finance @ NTU. I actually had his name saved as “Potential Insurance Agent/ Financial Advisor” in my contacts. I was bored and decided to probe a bit, and this fella was quite sincere, even asked to meet with a few of our bunkmates at Universal Studios. Quite normal right, cant sell insurance at USS?
  WRONG. We were queueing up for the Mummy ride, and this was like during the big covid hoo hah and the rediscovery vouchers, so the rides were legit 2 hour waiting times. guy whips out his ipad and tells us he needs to take notes or something for his lecture, ended up showing us his “lecturer’s presentation slides” that was on life insurance and how important it is to be purchasing one at our age since we are joining the workforce and what not.
  After a few minutes of him droning on about how long his lecturers slides are, he proceeds to switch to switch to a slide labeled “PLANS”. He had INDIVIDUAL slides for each one of us after talking to us and crafted a financial plan AND a health plan, like this guy str8 up did research on us before meeting at USS. Wouldn’t shut up about it and said that in case the ride jerks and whatnot and we sprain our neck or break a finger on this ride, we could claim so and so amount. Load of bull, we ended up making a new bunk chat without this fella in it.
  Last i heard of him, he just jio’d people out to go Prawning. Imagine selling insurance while prawning bruh

• This was years ago… I was walking along a HDB void deck corridor, heading to the coffeeshop to tabao some dinner. I remember it was just outside either a Giant or Seng Siong supermart when someone behind me shouted “Uncle, your wallet dropped.” This is strange since I have never dropped my wallet. Anyway, just in case, I turned around to look and this young fella came up and said “I hope you don’t mind hor, no wallet, but I represent xxx insurance company…” I said no thanks and went to the coffeeshop.
  10 mins later, with my tabao food by my side, I walked back along the same corridor. Again, the same fella starts yelling “Uncle your wallet!”. Naturally, I just ignored him this time.
  A few seconds later, he tapped on my shoulder and tried to turn me around. Oh I spun around alright. I gave him a few angry words, made sure everyone was watching and knew what he was doing just to try and sell insurance.

• I was working a part-time job while waiting for uni to start. I met my ex-colleague and I got along well with her, because we were close in age and had similar interests. But after I quit the part-time job and started uni, I did not keep in touch with her again… until she called me out of the blue one year later.
  She started by saying how she has gotten a new job and her role is to ‘promote’ the CPF plan to people and all I have to do is listen to her talk and I get $20 NTUC vouchers. Being young and naive (and greedy), I agreed. She told me that the vouchers would be mailed to my address and I thought that would be the end of it.
  Lo and behold, two weeks later, she turned up at my house with no warning whatsoever, under the guise of ‘signing the confirmation sheet for the vouchers’. Even worse, she bought her supervisor with her. She took a very long amount of time to distribute the vouchers to me, and it was not until she started talking about insurance plans and whatnot, that I realised I’ve been scammed.
  Fortunately I remained stubborn and refused to sign, and she left soon after. I immediately blocked her, and warned another mutual friend of mine that this ex colleague might approach her as well (and it did happen).
  It really turns me off, how some of these agents use such scummy practises to get people to sign up.

My boyfriend got a “happy ending massage” and god knows what else.

We’ve been together since our schooling days and we’re both 21 now. Last night I went through his phone because ever since I got an abortion everything in our relationship has been off.

I couldn’t get intimate with him for a couple months due to complications and that’s when I noticed a change in his behavior and that it was affecting him.

At this time I found out that he tried to kiss another girl at a party. I should’ve left then but I was very vulnerable at the time and just blamed myself instead.

I went through his photos and that’s when I saw two pictures that look like they were taken in a girls room and I decided to see when and where it was taken.

I googled the address and then proceeded to go through his text messages and that’s when a bank statement caught my eye with a weird name and it was for the same night around the same time.

I googled part of the name and it instantly popped up… The same night he asked for cuddles and was still texting me but in intervals…

I still haven’t confronted him. I feel so embarrassed and disgusted.

We’re approaching cartoonish levels of idiocy and density with my ex boss

So I was with this company for 11 weeks and it was all pretty dumb already. But I didn’t mind because it was more of an in-between kind of job. So today and I got a message last week asking me to come in and cover and catch up so people could take their vacations.

Thing is: I was fired a few days ago!! Why? Because they asked me to go out of the country FOUR WEEKS with no additional allowance. At that point, I’d be losing money. I was the newest and lowest paid employee and they wanted me out of country for FOUR weeks.

So I just refused to go. I just didn’t go. They gave me a two-week notice and I was fired.

Come around a few days after my termination, and they start texting me saying ‘Well you don’t have kids, so how about covering for us? Huh? Huh? Huh?”

And my response is “I was literally fired, so NO.”

I also told them that I would accept it for $4000 per 8-hour shift and $1000 for an hour after that. I’m sure you can guess their response. They acted like I was the one being unreasonable because “I don’t have kids and don’t understand how much it means to them to have an Easter vacation.”

My cousin saw what he believes to be a headless spirit.

I should probably start by saying, my cousin told me about this story right after seeing the spirit.

Some background information: My cousins live in a severely haunted home, that they believe is haunted by many spirits.

The actual story: It was around midnight, and something had woke up my cousin, he doesn’t remember what but he said he saw something in the corner of his eye.

He tries to get back to sleep no less than 5 minutes later, but is distracted again by what he seen however this time it’s closer to him.

He starts to question what it could possibly be and after falling asleep again he is woken up for a 2nd time, at this point it was around 12:30am, and my cousin is woken up again, he lays there for a moment, and he looks to his right and there is was.

It takes my cousin a second to react as he fully didn’t come to his senses and then it hit him. He jumps out of bed and goes to his parents and explains what he had just seen.

His parents go and check and find nothing.

From this point onwards, his parents believed he was imagining things, but to this day my cousin believes that what he saw on that night was 100% real.
