NEA – WE ARE STILL DETECTING MOSQUITO BREEDING DESPITE WARNINGS

The National Environment Agency (NEA) posted onto their Facebook page saying that they are still detecting cases of profuse mosquito breeding during their checks despite warning about the sharp rise in dengue cases.

Here is what they said

Despite warning about the sharp rise in dengue cases and current serious dengue situation in Singapore, NEA is still detecting cases of profuse mosquito breeding during our checks. NEA will take strong enforcement action against such cases.

For households found with repeat mosquito breeding offences and multiple mosquito breeding habitats, offenders may face a fine of up to $5,000 or imprisonment, or both, for the first court conviction. Repeat offenders will be given heftier penalties or sent to court. We urge premises owners and occupiers to take urgent action to carry out mosquito prevention and control measures.

Let’s all take immediate action to reduce the mosquito vector population, by regularly practising the following Mozzie Wipeout ‘B-L-O-C-K’ steps, to target common mosquito breeding habitats:

o 𝗕reak up hardened soil

o 𝗟ift and empty flowerpot plates

o 𝗢verturn pails and wipe their rims

o 𝗖hange water in vases

o 𝗞eep roof gutters clear and place BTI insecticide inside

SOUTH KOREAN DJ FORCED TO TAKE OFF HER PANTS BY AMERICAN AIRLINE

A South Korean DJ, DJ Soda, was allegedly forced to take off her pants by American Airlines staff after being kicked off the flight.

Here is what she said

I GOT KICKED OFF FROM @AmericanAir flight and they harassed me to take off my sponsored @RIPNDIP ‘F**K YOU’ sweatpants in front of people to board again.

Yesterday coming back from JFK to LAX with American Airlines, I was harassed and humiliated. I was forced out of the plane and was harassed to take off my pants in front of the flight crews at the gate.

I have never had an issue with wearing this pair of pants before in my many months of touring in North America and they did not have any problem with me wearing it at the time of check-in nor when I sat down at my seat.

Here is my story. A staff suddenly approached me to pack up my belongings and leave the plane without any kind of explanation. As I was escorted off the plane, they claimed that my sweatpants were “inappropriate” and “offensive” telling me that I need to take the next flight.

I had an important meeting set up in LA on that day, so I could not afford to get off this flight. I pleaded to stay on the flight but was ignored by the staff and the flight attendants. I even offered to get changed but the request was denied. What happened next was horrendous.

With my broken fingers, I hardly ended up taking off my pants in front of the whole crew and standing half-naked while they still refused to board me on the flight. They even sarcastically commented that I could have taken off my pants earlier.

When they finally let me enter, I put my pants inside out and finally sat down after an hour of delay causing inconvenience to the members of the flights on board.

I was mortified and trembling in fear for the next 6 hours on my flight back to LA. In my 8 years of touring, I have never experienced or been treated unfairly, especially in a country that is known for its freedom of speech and individuality.

From now on, I will be boycotting @AmericanAir and hope this NEVER happens to anyone ever again.

M’SIAN DATCHINAMURTHY TO BE HANGED TODAY, GRANTED STAY OF EXECUTION

The Malaysian drug trafficker Datchinamurthy Kataiah, was set to be hanged today at dawn (29 April) was granted a last-minute stay of execution following a High Court ruling on 28 April.

He had represented himself at the High Court, as well as another hearing at the Court of Appeal.

Kokila Annamalai, a local activist, shared news of Datchinamurthy’s stay of execution onto her Facebook page

Here is what she said

“Stay of execution granted for Datchinamurthy Kataiah!

Datch just told his sister over a televisit after the hearing that he won – he was granted a stay of execution, on the grounds that he has a civil case pending before the court. The judge asked the prosecution if they intend to appeal, and the prosecution said they hadn’t decided.

Datch argued this case on his own. He had no lawyer, no family or well-wishers present for moral support. He was in prison, by himself, facing off against public prosecutors. He spoke up to the judge, made his case, and persuaded the judge to grant him a stay of execution.

This is what it looks like when we rise up. It is Datch’s courage, and his family’s unflinching perseverance, that made this happen. Today Datch achieved what no Singapore lawyer dared to try. The fight is far from over. Datch’s life is only safe until his civil case is over.”

She later shared an update on the case, with an appeal by the prosecution against his stay of execution, saying

Here is what she said

“UPDATE: The prosecution’s appeal was heard by a three-judge bench at the Supreme Court and dismissed!! Take that, AG!

Alarming update on Datch’s case:

Mere minutes after we received the incredibly relieving news that Datch won himself a stay of execution, the AGC filed an appeal, and the hearing was set immediately, for 2.30pm today. If the AGC wins this appeal, Datch can still be executed at dawn tomorrow.

Datch was not given a chance to secure a lawyer for this appeal. He won, and was almost immediately brought back via teleconference for the 2.30pm hearing at the Supreme Court, via teleconference. The hearing is ongoing as I write this.”

UNVACCINATED MAN USED OTHER PERSON’S TRACETOGETHER TO ENTER BAR, JAILED

Utheyakumar Nallathamby, 65-years-old, was sentenced to 5 days imprisonment after admitting to a cheating by personation charge on 27 April.

He was unvaccinated and had used another person’s TraceTogether app to enter a bar at Sentosa last year.

The person to allowed Nallathamby to use his app, Kiran Singh Rugbhir Singh, a 37-year-old Malaysian, was also jailed 5 days in February for letting Nallathamby pose as him.

Singh and his girlfriend met Utheyakumar on 9 September last year for a drink in Hougang.

The three of them later went to Sentosa to drink some more and they then went to Bikini Bar, where an assistant manager there refused to allow him to enter as he was unvaccinated.

Singh then suggested that the three of them head to Coastes bar and enter using his (Singh) TraceTogether app that had his vaccination status.

Utheyakumar went ahead with his suggestion and used Singh’s phone to enter with the woman, while Singh waited outside.

Utheyakumar was drinking there when the Bikini Bar assistant manager then spotted him and remembered that she didn’t allow him to enter her bar as he was not vaccinated.

She then told the staff at Coastes and a check was then done on Utheyakumar’s phone, and it was found that the phone belonged to Singh the matter was then reported to a duty manager at Sentosa Development Corporation.

The police were then alerted to the incident.

FIANCE CAUGHT CHEATING MONTHS BEFORE WEDDING, THERAPIST SAID IT’S FIANCEE FAULT

0

I have been with my fiance for over 5 years and got engaged lasat year and we were supposed to get married in a few months

We were in an open relationship but everything had to be approved ahead of time. He went away for a month for work and wanted to hook up with someone. I wasn’t super comfortable with it but he guilted me into agreeing. We set boundaries of what was allowed and what wasn’t and he broke all of those boundaries and lied to me about it and so I consider that cheating.

When he got back I asked him to cut contact with this person but he refused to say they are friends and I can not control who is he friends with. We agreed to close the relationship and see a therapist. Through talking to the therapist, we uncovered deeper problems and that he did what he did because he was unhappy with certain parts of our relationship. I have been working hard for the past few weeks to try to be a better partner but I also found out that he has been continuing to talk to the girl this whole time when he agreed to stop while we were in therapy. After I found out I was really upset and he agreed to cut contact but wasn’t happy about it.

We had another session with the therapist yesterday and when he told her I made him cut contact, she said that was a red flag that I made him do it. This comment is what has been bothering me the whole time. To me it was a no brainer, if he cheated on me, he needs to cut contact with that person if we want to continue the relationship. So the red flag for me was him not agreeing to it and fighting it so hard.

I feel like after everything that happened, I’m taking all the blame for not being a good partner to cause him to cheat and he is receiving more support than me. And I know I need to be better and I’ve been trying hard, while he was still talking to them behind my back. And being told that making him cut contact was a red flag really upset me and is making me question whether that was a reasonable thing to want now. I feel like I just want some support and some validation for how I feel and I have not been able to get that from anyone.

A lot of people have interpreted that the therapist’s comment about the red flag was that my partner didn’t offer to cut contact on his own. That was not what she meant. She specifically said he shouldn’t do something he doesn’t want to if he feels I am making him do it.

We have agreed to close our relationship and don’t have plans to reopen it.

He has willingly agreed to stop contact.

MAN HAVE SEIZURE AFTER SEEING BEST FRIEND WITH WIFE ON HIS BED

0

A man shared a story about how he ended up in the hospital after seeing his best friend with his wife on his own bed.

Here is the story:

I just went home from the hospital, as expected there is no one home. My wife’s personal belongings are all gone.

Here is how I ended up in the hospital.

I was out with my friends at Boat Quay and we were having dinner. We wanted to have a few drinks but one of my friends felt unwell and we send him home.

So we decided to meet another time for the drinks and every one of us went home early.

Earlier in the day, I told my wife that I would be eating and drinking with my friends and she quickly agrees and seem happy that I was going out.

Initially, I thought that it was strange how quickly she said yes (cause I said I was drinking) but I did not think much about it.

When I arrived home and open the door, I could hear the sounds of people moving and running around quickly and I thought a robber was in the house. I ran towards my room and see my wife not wearing anything and a “ball of blanket” was beside her.

I asked why is she naked and she said that the weather is too hot. She tried to rush me to the shower for no reason and I went into the bathroom.

I suddenly remembered that I did not lock the wooden door and I came out of the toilet but to see my best friend naked beside my wife.

I immediately shouted at them and I had a seizure shortly afterwards.

Now I am back home from the hospital and the first thing I’m gonna do is open up my laptop and find the cheapest lawyer I can find.
