WOMEN CHANGING CLOTHES IN FRONT OF OTHER MEN & CHILDREN @ ST JOHN’S ISLAND

A netizen by the name of Rubi shared how a group of women was changing their clothes in front of other men and children nearby.

The incident happened on 3 April, at around 11am, at a shelter on St John’s Island.

Rubi shared on Stomp that it was raining heavily at the time and everyone was seeking shelter from the heavy downpour.

The aforementioned group of women also came to the shelter and were seen eating and enjoying themselves.

The rain later stopped and the women then got up and changed out of their clothes, without caring about the many guys and children who were around at the time.

The netizen shared that there was a toilet nearby, just beside the shelter, and that it was just less than a minute away.

She expressed her disappointment at them, as she had a child with her at the time.

She also shared how everyone was looking at the women changing and shaking their heads, as they changed their inner wear in front of the strangers.

LORRY DRIVER FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL AND CRASHED INTO CAR

A Facebook user, Wilson Lai, posted an appeal for witnesses in the SG Road Vigilante Facebook Group about an accident that happened on the SLE.

Here is what he said

Would like to appeal for dash cam footage or witness for an accident last Sunday 3 Apr, 10:45am, on SLE westbound towards Lentor Ave exit.

I was in the red car driving on the left most lane preparing to exit via Lentor Ave when suddenly I saw the lorry appeared very close up in my side mirror. Within the next second, the lorry crashed into my right rear passenger door resulting in both right doors to be badly damaged and stuck closed.

After the driver alighted, he apologised saying he had fallen asleep on the wheel as he had worked night shift the day before. He offered to privately settle the accident saying he would only pay for the damages to my car. I refused as my wife had hit her head on the window and was feeling unwell.

Being unfamiliar with such situations, I took down the party’s details and said I will settle it through the proper channel via my insurance and allowed the lorry to leave. I then brought my wife and 4yo kid to the hospital to seek medical attention.

The next day I brought my car to the accident reporting centre, and when the staff called up the driver, he changed the story and claimed that my car had cut into his lane.

Greatly appreciate any advice and assistance. Thank you.

WOMAN FIGHTS WITH HUSBAND OVER DAUGHTER WEARING “VERY LITTLE” AT HOME

How to handle daughter’s lack of modesty

My husband and I are having a disagreement about the appropriate level of our teenage daughter’s modesty around the house.

She is a beautiful girl and has a high level of confidence about her body, which is fantastic. I know there are many young women who do not have that!

But as part of that, she has become quite comfortable wearing very little around our home. I’m not sure why it rubs me the wrong way that she’s often in her underthings but it does.

My husband thinks I’m being controlling and sending the wrong messages about owning your body, positivity, etc.

Thoughts are welcome!

Netizens’ comments

  • info: what exactly is she wearing that bothers you
    • Underwear, like panties and tank top, or little pajamas. That kind of thing.
      • Sounds like items a human should be able to wear in their own home.
  • “I’m not sure why it rubs me the wrong way-” I think it’s incredibly important you get in touch with that and figure it out if you can! Until you do, your reasons for implementing a rule will be half baked. And in that case, it might send an unintentional message.
It could be there is a good reason to set a new standard, but unless you’re in touch with it, you can’t tell it apart from a personal insecurity, a trigger, a trauma, a projection, a judgement, etc. “It makes me uncomfortable” is not the same as “It’s inappropriate”.

GIRL WANTS TO MARRY BF, SAYS SHE WANTS 1 BRANDED BAG A YEAR, & HOLIDAYS TWICE

0

My gf has no plans to get a job after graduation. She said we should get married after she finish school as I am much older than her and she wants to be a young mother. We have been together for 3 years. I got to know her through her brother. She has a minor disability so she cannot do any work that requires her to stress out her body.

All along my family doesn’t have a good impression of her due to some issues. My gf is not a very knowledgeable person and can be quite tactless. She has little friends and little knowledge on social skills so she often offended my parents with words. Once she told my mother that her branded bag is a fake when my mother bought the bag at mbs so there is no way it is fake but my gf insisted. That storm took a few months to settle. I have asked my gf to apologize but she refused. She said she saw on a website about counterfeits so she was sure she is right.

My parents have suggested that I can find a better woman and I find it very disheartening to not have their support. My mother also threatened to leave my name out of the will if I marry her because they don’t want my gf to get a single cent. I find things are not working out the longer we are together.

I have many problems with my gf. She wants me to promise her many material things as she won’t be working. She wants 1 branded  bag a year, holiday twice a year, she wants an allowance even before she finish school. She would cry and make things difficult till I give in when she wants something. As she is still a student I have been paying for all our dating expenses. She would bring me along to her shopping trips and have me pay for her purchases too. She will dictate when I can touch her too.

I reached a stage where I don’t think I can support her wants anymore. I don’t know how to break up with her without her brother coming after me. Sometimes I also think she is using her disability as an excuse to not want to work. It’s a sensitive issue for us and she would throw a fit or cry when I want to talk to her about it.

Am I a bad guy if I were to leave her?

ELDERLY WOMAN CRIES AFTER GOOD SAMARITANS HELPED CLEAN HER HOME

Singaporean activist Gilbert Goh shared how his team agreed to help an elderly woman clean her home and she then broke down in tears.

She is unable to do the cleaning due to suffering a condition that affects her mobility.

Here is his post

A elderly woman in tears after the team agrees to clean her windows – the only part of the super-clean house which she can’t access due to her mobility condition.

It’s difficult to see a elderly woman breaking down and we took turns to talk to her.

We thought of returning another day to do the cleaning but a volunteer suggests doing it on the spot.

We took around twenty minutes to do the job and subsequently the impromptu act moved her to tears.

Maybe it’s being a while someone took the time and be kind to her without any condition.

We also passed her our bento meals and $50 angbao.

It was a very good day indeed for all of us.

Do something good for Singapore – a charity movement to alleviate the hardships of displaced elderly Singaporeans.

GIRL FEEL FRIENDSHIPS THESE DAYS ARE “TOUCH-&-GO”, FEELS LONELY

0

Does anyone feel that friendships forged nowadays are just touch-and-go?

As per the title. All the friends that I’ve made seem to be acquaintances more than friends, and it’s so hard to have a genuine connection.

Lessons are still online for me, and even though I’ve joined a CCA, we mainly just talk there and then during the activity, which just ends there.

Even online, mainly joined interest groups and we all mainly go out as a group, which I appreciate as a way to make friends in general, but not a way to forge a genuine connection with someone.

On a side note, does anyone feel that it’s very hard to ask your friends out at times? I’m in my mid-20s, and some of my friends are working, some studying.

I’ve asked them once, twice, and eventually stop asking them cuz I don’t wanna bug them, then there will be no meetup because the other party doesn’t take the initiative.

They’re usually busy or the meetup is just postponed indefinitely. Is this normal? I can text a friend for 1-2 months often and not meet.

Feeling dejected as I feel I have friends here and there, yet somehow I still feel lonely.

I know I’m sounding negative, so hopefully someone will be able to change my perspective of looking at things?

Esther Molina, the mother of an 18-year-old French girl, Alexia Alexandra Molina, who went missing off the coast of Malaysia after going diving, said she is “hoping for the best”.

The teenage girl is among two other Europeans who went missing, along with their instructor, after going diving near an island in the south.

The instructor, a 35-year-old Norwegian woman by the name of Kristine Grodem, was rescued alive on Thursday after drifting for miles and has since been conveyed to the hospital in a stable condition.

Molina spoke to AFP from the base for the search operations, Mersing:

“We hear from experienced divers that the situation is positive, they’re above water, hopefully they’re together still. We are hoping for the best. She’s a strong girl.”

The other two missing divers are Drain Peter Chesters, a 46-year-old British man; and his 14-year-old son Nathan Renze Chester, who is Dutch.

Senior Police official Cyril Edward Nuing said that rescue operations have resumed, and that “Until now we have not received new sightings pertaining to the three missing divers.”
