46 y.o Ong Eng Sing, who is the former CEO of Pokka International, as well as Chia Cher Khiang and Lim Hee Kiat were charged in court today (12 Nov) for offences related to disclosure.

Ong was charged with three counts of having a transaction with Pokka International where he failed to disclose his indirect interest.

Chia and Lim were charged with their failure to inform the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) on Kimly’s acquisition of Asian Story Corporation (ASC) as the acquisition was allegedly an interested person transaction.

An additional count was added to Lim’s charges as he did not disclose his direct interest in the acquisition.

Chia was offered $50,000 for bail while Lim was offered $70,000.

Ong was alleged to have partial beneficial ownership in ASC and failed to disclose it to Pokka International and Pokka Corporation thrice during the transaction between the two companies.

For their offences, they could receive up to seven years in jail, fined up to $250,000 or both for failing to disclose that the acquisition was an interested person transaction.

A jail term of 12 months or a fine up to $5,000 is also liable for offenders who fail to disclose their interest with the company.

19 y.o Ralph Wee Yi Kai, known for entering a Rhino enclosure to do a backflip and subsequently ‘could not wake up’ for his court session even was given fresh charges today (12 Nov).

The four new charges that he received are for committing mischief as he had cut of a GPS ankle tag, possessed an e-cigarette pod on two occasions as well as possessed an e-vaporiser.

Another four charges are still pending, and they are for failing to report to the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) for a urine test.

A prosecutor told the court that CNB is currently unable to serve the charges against him but will be ready to do so in the coming week.

Wee appeared in court via video link from the place where he was remanded.

He was caught on Nov 6, a day after he was issued a warrant of arrest.

34 y.o Priscilla Tan Siew Sin was charged with three counts of cheating the SafeEntry system today (12 Nov).

She was supposed to be at home doing self isolation pending the results of a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).

Instead of doing the self isolation, she allegedly used her niece’s TraceTogether (TT) token to enter three places on three different days.

These places are The Poiz Centre (Apr 30), Esplanade Library (May 2) and Marina Square (May 2).

The accusations against her are of impersonating her niece’s identity as well as dishonestly misleading the SafeEntry system to conceal her identity for entry to the above locations.

Court documents did not reveal as to how she got caught.

Police said that such behaviour is irresponsible and they take a stern view on these type of behaviour.

They remind everyone to play their part to adhere to the safe management and distancing measures in view of the current pandemic situation.

Tan was eventually offered a $3,000 bail and will return to court sometime in December.

If found guilty of cheating, she is liable to be jailed up to five years and receive a fine per charge.
