NTUC RESPONDS TO TIKTOKER: DON’T CIRCULATE UNVERIFIED CLAIMS

NTUC FairPrice has released a second statement on their Facebook in response to a TikToker, Nina Monzolevska, who called them out for a packet of chicken that was allegedly mislabeled.

In their statement, NTUC said:

[UPDATE] We have since contacted the customer to address her concerns and investigate the cause of the alleged mislabelling. We agree that such an error, should not have occurred. Our staff at the frontline are working hard, and we ask for patience and understanding during this challenging time. All our weighing scales are also independently calibrated by authorised vendors certified by the authorities.

We understand another video with a price label pasted over an erroneously printed label was posted by the customer suggesting possible dishonest practices. While we appreciate feedback for improvement, we do not condone any unethical business practices and take such allegations very seriously. We will safeguard the integrity of our reputation against false allegations if necessary.

We advise the public not to circulate unverified claims which may cause unnecessary public alarm. We appeal to customers to contact us directly so we may address their concerns expeditiously and avoid any misunderstanding.

Tiktoker uploaded new video

Nina had shared a video on her TikTok, saying that “we were heard”, as she went to FairPrice to get some more chicken and saw that the packets were properly labeled.

This is in the wake of her earlier video where she weighed the packet of the chicken and the weight shown was different from the label.

Then Nina uploaded another video where she then removed top label that was pasted over the old label.

SRI LANKAN ON STUDENT PASS FOUND WITH EXPLICIT VIDEOS OF CHILDREN, JAILED

0

Kolambage Dhanushka Chamara Perera, a 25-year-old Sri Lankan in Singapore on a student pass, pleaded guilty to one count of being in possession of 25 explicit video files of children.

Another charge of possessing more than 2,000 videos which were explicit in nature, as well as content of bestiality (human-animals intercourse).

He was sentenced to 1-month imprisonment on 7 February.

What happened?

Kolambage joined a Whatsapp group that was used to share obscene videos; he had met the administrator of the group, Hindakumbure Charindu Dilshan Rajapaksha, 29, who told him to create a Whatsapp group with many Sri Lankans in it.

Kolambage then joined a group called “Singapore Boys Wela group”, which was created in 2019 and it was originally created for the members to share news from their hometown.

However, they later started sharing explicit materials inside the group chat.

Kolambage remained inside the group despite the content being shared and he told the authorities that he was “not really interested” in the explicit videos involving children.

He claimed that he tried his best to delete the underage videos but might have missed out on deleting some of them as there were too many.

His offenses were discovered on 6 August 2020 at about 1pm when a Public Transport Security Command patrol officer saw him behaving suspiciously at Lavender MRT station.

A check was then conducted on him by the officer and his colleagues and they discovered that he had a group chat with a photo of a silhouette of a man and woman engaging in intimacy.

They then opened the group chat and found more than 6,000 media files, before arrested him and seizing his phone.

The explicit videos of children were then later found.

A 39-year-old maid in Singapore was surprised with a birthday celebration after they found out that she had never celebrated her birthday before her whole life.

A video of the heartwarming birthday surprise was then shared on Instagram on 6 February.

The Indonesian maid, Ruenah, started working for her employer Anna Leyman, from May last year, and she shared that because the maid’s family was poor, their birthdays were treated like any other days back home.

Anna then pretended that there was nothing special on Ruenah’s birthday, and made the maid think that they had forgotten about her birthday.

She even sent her husband and daughters out of the house to make it more convincing, but they were actually tasked to get a birthday cake for Ruenah.

The maid was then caught off guard as Anna’s two daughters later walked into the house with a chocolate cake, as the family sang Happy Birthday to Ruenah.

The maid then fell onto the floor and started crying, as she was too touched by the family’s gesture.

The elder daughter then jokingly asked Ruenah why was she crying, and asked her if she was a baby; to which the maid then wiped away her tears and hugged her.

Anna then captioned her Instagram post:

“Happy Birthday Bibik

Every human deserve to be loved regardless who they are. Whether they are your employee or your family.

GIRL HAD EXPLOSIVE LAO SAI ON PANTS, PAI SEI UNTIL GHOSTED HER DATE

0

“i had a bad stomachache when my date sent me home on grab and we alighted at a bus stop near a petrol station

But I couldn’t reach the toilet in time. I ghosted him after that day but to my surprise, he is still asking me out. Valentine is coming. I don’t know if I should go out with him again. To be honest, I don’t know how to face him… he is from NTU and his results are really really good.. he is a good guy and I really really like him but I don’t know how to face him after that day”

Here are what netizens think:

  • Perhaps you are so tasty that even if you are covered in sai you are still edible.
  • When he has seen you at one of youe worst situations and still wants to go out with you, he’s a keeper. Proceed.
  • Don’t worry too much about it. If he’s asking you out again, it should mean that he understands you are only human and that nature calls can’t be controlled. You are no longer primary school kids.Of course, if he asks you out for the purpose of teasing you, it’s also good because you can conclude that he’s not mature enough to be a keeper. But from what you described, it feels he’s more like the former. Give it a try.
  • He likes your smell. Go for it
  • If he has seen you at your worst situation and still asking you out… then he is a keeperIf you get married and grow old together, you guys will surely say a lot of shitty stuff when fighting, and clean your partner’s shit when they are bedriddenSo yeah.. it’s a good thing you have started early on your first date
  • Things got off to an explosive start
