A 28-year-old deliveryman fall in love with a 47-year-old married woman and did everything for her but ended up in jail. The duo met when the 28-year-old was working as a deliveryman. When the married woman told the man that she needed funds for her business turnover, the deliveryman did not hesitate to lie to his parents and younger sister to cheat over SGD$150,000.

28-year-old Lai Zi Ying pleaded guilty to four counts of cheating and he was sentenced to 15 months in prison yesterday.

It was said in the court hearing that the defendant is working as a delivery man when he met the married woman Guo Shujun while making his deliveries in July 2016.

Guo Shujun was married at the time with two children. She claims that she was in the business of selling bags and began to hire the defendant to perform deliveries. The two eventually fall in love even though the defendant knew that the other party has a family and still carried on the forbidden relationship.

According to the police investigation, Guo Shujun claimed that her business was in need of money and asked Lai to find a way to “borrow money” from his parents.

In order to deceive his parents to give him the money, the defendant fabricated various lies, saying for a while that he needed money to buy a car, and for a while that he needed money for school fees.

Further investigation revealed that Guo Shujun had instigated the defendant to deceive her sister into “investing”, but in fact all the money went into Guo Shujun’s pocket.

Investigations revealed that the defendant’s parents and sister were defrauded of a total of SGD$150,454 and he has only repaid about SGD$23,000.

ANG MOH PULLS PET DOG BY LEASH AND THROWS IT AGAINST THE RAILING

A story was shared on Facebook of how a man who was jogging along Singapore River allegedly pulls the dogs leashed and flung her dog to the railing

Here is the story:

Hello Shiba Lovers! I have some terrible news.I wish that I connected with all of you here on a better note but here’s what happened this morning and I need all your #ShibaLove power! Pumpkin (my 4.5-month-old Shiba Inu) and I were walking along the Singapore River just like any other day.

I was holding on to the leash walking in the middle of the pavement.Pumpkin was walking near the grass like normal dogs do.Suddenly, this man in black running attire, blue sneakers and grey curly hair (I’m guessing 40s to 50s) came running from behind, took my leash and flung pumpkin to the railing. He continues running but I caught up and confronted him. I asked him why he did that.

He proudly said “your dog was blocking my way! Watch your dog!”

I apologised to him for blocking his way and said he has no rights to do that. Then as soon as I said I was going to take a picture of him to make a police report, he ran away. I only managed to get his back. I believe he lives nearby (at Robertson Quay) as another dog owner I met downstairs said he looks familiar and has a very recognisable head of grey, curly hair.He is white, tall and slender.

But I’m not sure where he could be from.I now no longer feel safe walking my puppy and am not sure if he’s injured.

But if you know him, I would really appreciate your help in identifying him as I have made a police report but they need his identity.

You may send me a Direct message or connect with me on IG @pumpkinandmama (for updates as well). This is discrimination – in my own country here in Singapore. If I were male, or bigger in size, or white like he is, I don’t think he would have done what he did today.Thank you so much 🙏🏼And in the meantime, keep your furbabies close to you 💕PS. A police report has already been made. But they need a front-facing photo to help identify who it is.To the admin: Thanks for letting me into the group. I hope this post doesn’t violate any of the rules. If it does, please let me know and I’ll remove it.

UPDATE 08 Jun: His photos will not be shared as I’m not doing this to defame him publicly, only to identify him and let him know that what he did was wrong and he’d have to face whatever the consequences are as a result of it. The pictures have, however, been submitted to the police.

A neighbour spoke to him and managed to get his mobile number.Another kind person also shared his first name with me. I think we have enough to know who he is now. So I will let the authorities deal with the matter and will keep the community updated.

Thank you again for all your kind and heartfelt messages. Pumpkin seems a lot better today than he was yesterday – we even played hide and seek in the flat this morning! All good!-UPDATE 07 Jun: Someone has spotted him outside Great World City and sent me pictures of him. Thank you so much guys. I’m sending it to the police.

‘NO BADGE NO TALK” AUNTIE WANTS CHARGES DROPPED: “I AM AN EX-NAVAL OFFICER”

The infamous Phoon Chiu Yoke, 53-years-old, is facing multiple charges for not wearing a mask in public.

She is asking the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) to drop their charges against her because of “various serious errors in the investigation process”.

Phoon ended her remand at IMH and was taken back to court earlier today (8 June).

Phoon was offered $10,000 bail, under the condition that she doesn’t reoffend and agrees to abide to Covid-19 restrictions rules.

She then said:

“I would like to apply for the charges to be dropped and for me to be discharged.”

She added:

“This is in consideration that I am a professional. I am an ex-Naval officer and have strong professional standing. I also have a series of ex-medical history which in most other cases many other people will be … totally dependent on a respiratory system.”

Phoon said because of the “procedural errors” during the investigations against her, the charges should not stand.

She then claimed that the investigating officer did not ask for her identity and also didn’t have an arrest warrant when arresting her.

Responding to the bail of $10,000, Phoon again brought up her former career in the Navy and citing her “contributions to Singapore as a pioneer”, saying:

“If I have to pay for bail, then it will just be S$3,000 and no need for any surety, because I have a strong professional standing.”

She was eventually granted bail of $8,000 and told to follow the Covid-19 rules, including wearing of mask in public.

Phoon agreed.

She is due to return to court next week.

One of the many downsides for gym-goers during the current Phase-2 (Heightened Alert) are the closures of gyms islandwide.

However, that seemingly unsurmountable obstacle doesn’t seem to faze one man, who found an unorthodox “gym” that is available and open 7 days a week.

This unidentified man was spotted working out inside the MRT instead, doing pull-ups on the handlebars inside the train cabin.

Talk about dedication…
