A Facebook user, Grace Yeo, shared how she was walking her dog at Robertson Quay when a jogger allegedly snatched her dog’s leash and flung the little creature to the railing on the side.
What happened?
The incident happened at around 7.25am yesterday (7 June), along the Singapore River.
She was walking in the middle of the pathway and her dog was on the grass, when an Ang Moh in his 40s/50s ran up from behind her and grabbed her dog’s leash from her.
He then flung the leash towards the railing, flinging her dog along with it.
She was in shock and didn’t realise immediately if her dog was in pain.
Yeo also didn’t notice the man until he grabbed the leash from her, and he continued running after flinging the leash.
Chased after him
Yeo then chased after him to confront him, asking him why he did that, and the man allegedly said:
“Your dog was blocking my way! Watch your dog!”
Yeo then apologised for blocking his way, but highlighted that he didn’t have the right to hurt her dog.
She then tried to take a photo of him to make a police report but the fella ran away; she did manage to take a picture of his back though, describing the Ang Moh as “white, tall and slender.”
Police report made
A police report is understood to have been made.
Yeo added that she no longer feels safe walking her dog.
In an update to her post, she shared that the Ang Moh was spotted by someone who sent her pictures of him, which she sent to the police.

Back in the day, before the iPhones, the Instagrams, and the YouTube videos; we used to sit in front of our TVs religiously after school or work and watch our favourite shows.
And every little while, a commercial airs and lingers in our minds for just a little longer.
The Mocca ad from 2006 to 2007-ish was one such commercial, capturing the minds and attention of Singaporeans from all walks of life.
It was an advertisement of a bodybuilder in his underwear, flexing for the camera and trying to sell his home.
His famous quotes (while flexing):
“The bedroom is over there! The kitchen is over there! This is my beautiful bathroom, check out my matching pipes!”
Mocca man returns!
More than one and a half decade after the commercial went viral at the time, appearing islandwide on buildings, billboards and even buses; the Moccan man, 46-year-old Ben Ha is back.
This time Ben is appearing in another ad, flexing his muscles in his underwear again, for a property portal called 99.co.
As it now turns out, the racist man is a 60-year-old senior lecturer from Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP)’s School of Engineering.
The man, Tan Boon Lee, is currently suspended by the school and an internal investigation is being conducted; with NP considering the appropriate disciplinary action to be taken against him.
NP said that they are aware of the video and that they “regret that the individual in question is a member of our staff.”
Wants to highlight subject of interracial marriage
Tan (speaking to TODAY) said that he doesn’t want to comment on the case as it is under police investigation.
He did however, say that it is a good time to highlight the “subject of interracial marriage in Singapore, Asia or worldwide.”
A spokesperson for NP said:
“We take a very serious view of the matter as the remarks made by the individual are highly offensive, disrespectful and goes against our staff code of conduct and values as a community.”
It is also worth noting that Tan appears to have received the Long Service Medal in 2019 during the National Day Awards, which is listed on the Prime Minister’s Office’s website.
