Recently, I encounter a problem and would like to gather feedbacks on this issue. My car was towed away recently even after I have made attempts to inform my finance company that I will be late in paying for the car loan for the month of October. I was only oweing them for one month.
However, to my surprise, my car was towed away in the morning with no prior notice even after I have informed my finance company (*** *** ***PTE LTD) that I may have difficulties to pay for the car loan.
The following attached picture is the amount I have to pay just to get back my vehicle. Just look at the exorbitant price I have to pay to get back my vehicle. Instead of paying for one month loan that I already have difficulties in, in the end the total amount that I pay is equivalent to two months of the loan.
In my opinion, there was no chance given even in this pandemic when governments have emphasised that they will be helping Singaporeans to brave through this hard time.
A 50-year-old man pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated statutory rape, one count of aggravated sexual assault by penetration and was sentenced to 23 years imprisonment.
Another 7 charges were considered during his sentencing.
He had raped his 11-year-old daughter after getting advice from a “fengshui master”.
The parties cannot be named due to a gag order to protect the identity of the victim.
What happened?
The man visited a fengshui master in Malaysia in September 2019, who advised him to have sex with a virgin by the end of the year.
He reasoned that by doing so, he can “see blood”, so as to avoid a “life-threatening” accident that was waiting to happen in 2019.
The fengshui master told him that he could help him for RM 2,000, which the man declined because he couldn’t afford it.
The man (the father of the victim) was playing with his daughter in October 2018 when he started developing sexual desires for her.
He then molested her and told her not to tell anyone about it.
The man didn’t have chances to be alone with the girl at night because she avoided sleeping with him, so he could only be alone with her during the school holidays and on weekends.
Between October and December 2018, the girl’s sister and mother were out of the house buying groceries when the man entered her room and raped her.
She complained of pains and told him to stop, and he stopped before his wife and older daughter came back.
He then sexually assaulted her again before December 2018, while they were home alone together.
The victim didn’t tell anyone about the incidents as she didn’t want her parents to get a divorce.
The girl started misbehaving in school in August 2019 and was caught drinking alcohol and smoking an electronic cigarette.
She was then questioned by her teacher and the girl broke down, revealing that she was touched by her father.
From September 10 to October 6, officers from ICA managed to stop five attempts at illegal importing Ivermectin.
Ivermectin is a drug that was a topic of interest after a woman allegedly became ill after taking the medication.
The buyers either did not report the products or claimed them as ‘Healthcare Products.’
The imports were not authorized by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA), and ICA officers discovered them when they observed abnormalities in the scanned pictures of the shipments. Following that, the police forwarded the instances to the HSA for further examination.
