🔴ALL BARS AND CLUBS WITH HIGH RISK OF TRANSMISSION TO BE CLOSED

New temporary countermeasures against COVID-19, gathering outside of school and work limited to 10 people, entertainment venues to close.

COVID-19 Task Force said earlier today, from 26th April 11.59PM to 30 April , gathering outside school and work will be limited to lesser than 10 people.

All entertainments venues such as clubs, discos, karaoke outlets, cinemas and similar places will be close. As these places have a high risk of virus transmission.

Tuition centres will be suspended as well.

All religious services and congregations will also be suspended

Organised tours and guided walking tours in public areas will also be suspended

3 PARENTS OF WOODLANDS AMERICAN SCHOOL INFECTED WITH CORONAVIRUS

According to a media release, 3 parents of children that attend the Singapore American School located at 40 Woodlands Street 41, Singapore 738547 has been tested positive for the coronavirus.

There is currently a message circulating that a gathering was held by one of the children of the confirmed case.

The day before one of the parent was diagnosed with the coronavirus, the child attended an event hosted by another student and interacted with several students from the school.

The school has over 4,000 students.

The government previously announced to avoid as many non-essential gatherings as possible but yet some people still do not listen.

COFFEESHOP IN WOODLANDS CLOSE AFTER CONFIRMED CASE DISCOVERED

Woodlands coffee shop Yummy Food Link confirmed five people isolated

A confirmed case is an employee of a coffee shop in Woodlands, and the coffee shop owner confirmed that a 55-year-old female drink stall assistant was diagnosed and the patient is in good condition.

Mr. Chen, owner of Yummy Food Link coffee shop in Block 111, Woodlands 13th Street, confirmed in an interview with Channel 8 that a Singaporean female employee responsible for making drinks was diagnosed on Saturday (21st)

It is unclear from where she was infected

Mr. Chen also revealed that the confirmed employees did not go to work after symptoms on the 18th. “She went to the doctor on the 19th, then rested at home, and then confirmed on the 21st,” he said.

After the employee’s diagnosis, the other five employees of the coffee booth were also asked to be quarantined for 14 days.

For safety reasons, Mr. Chen decided to close the coffee shop for 14 days, so that the other 10 stalls in the shop will also be closed for business and will be fully disinfected in the shop. The coffee shop has been closed for 2 days.

THAILAND TO START ONE-MONTH STATE OF EMERGENCY ON 26 MARCH

Earlier today, Thailand’s Prime Minister said that Thailand will be in an emergency mode from March 26 for a month to deal with the coronavirus outbreak.

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said the Cabinet agreed today at its weekly meeting to put a one-month state of emergency into effect on Thursday.

The emergency decree allows the prime minister to have the executive power to declare further measures to contain the virus such as setting up further restrictions or a lockdown, curfew and even censoring the media, laws against gatherings and enforcing with military might.

He said details of the measures will be announced later.

Thailand has four death cases and a total of 827 confirmed coronavirus cases.

32 YEAR OLD ARRESTED AFTER BREAKING INTO UNIT AT BUKIT BATOK

According to the Police media release, The Police arrested a 32-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking.

The resident of the unit reported the incident to the Police on the 18 March 2020 at around 10.45 pm, the police were alerted to a case of housebreaking located along Bukit Batok Street 31.

Following was stolen

  • Cash amounting to S$280
  • VND$500, 000 (About S$31)
  • jewelleries

Officers from Jurong Police Division was able to identify the suspect through Police CCTV and ground enquiries. The officers arrested the man the next day (19 March 2020).

The man will be charged with housebreaking under Section 451 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.

The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years and a fine.

54 MORE NEWS CASES IN SINGAPORE, HIGHEST SPIKE IN A SINGLE DAY

According to the latest reports from the Ministry of Health (MOH), another 54 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore has been confirmed on March 23 2020. The total cases in Singapore has reached 509.

54 cases is currently the highest spike in Singapore for a single day.

48 of the newly reported cases is imported, while six are local.

All the six cases are unlinked

M’SIANS ALLOWED TO DRAW RM500 FROM THEIR EPF MONTHLY

In some countries, its called CPF. In Malaysia its call EPF.

Malaysians are now allowed to withdraw from their account of up to 500RM every month to buy essential items. This is to help Malaysian citizens during the coronavirus crisis.

Malaysians aged 55 and below can with from their EPF Account 2 for over 12 months.

MALAYSIA WILL DECIDE IF LOCKDOWN WILL BE EXTENDED ON NEXT WEEK

According to a media release in Kuala Lumper, Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said that Putrajaya will decide if the lockdown control order will be extended somewhere next week.

The countries National Security council members will have a meeting on the 31st of March (The last day of lockdown) to decide if Malaysia is doing enough to combat the spread of the Corona Virus.

The lockdown has affected many businesses and travellers across the world.

He added in his statement that he needed the cooperation of the people and come forward for the testing.

“Otherwise, we may have to extend it by another week or two.”

SMRT WORKER DIES AT BISHAN DEPOT AFTER OPERATING HYDRAULIC PRESS MACHINE

According to the latest media release, an SMRT employee who is working at Bishan Depot has died earlier today after he was severely injured.

CEO of SMRT Group, Neo Kian Hong Said:

“We are deeply saddened that one of our staff, technical officer Muhammad Afiq bin Senawi, had sustained severe injuries while working in a rolling stock workshop at Bishan Depot.

“He was operating a hydraulic press machine when the accident occurred on Monday at about 9.20am. First aid was immediately rendered. He was then conveyed to the hospital.

“Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the hospital at about 11.20am. We have conveyed our deepest condolences to his family and are rendering support and assistance at this very difficult time.”
