Starting on 18 March 2020, Malaysia will be on lockdown until 31st March 2020. This comes after Malaysia’s cases spiked to 553. After another 125 cases were confirmed today.
Government announces movement restriction from 18-31/3 throughout the country.This restriction includes the cancellation of all religious activities, social activities. All religious houses closed except for groceries stores.
All Malaysian’s banned from travelling overseas.All Malaysians returning from overseas to be on self-quarantine for 14 days.
The country is also banning all foreign tourists. Closure of all schools, kindergartens, public and international schools. Closure of all universities and colleges.
Closure of all government and private offices excluding essential services such as water, post office, power, petrol station and TV, banks, ports, airports, groceries.
15. Case 230 is an imported case involving a 38 year-old female Singapore Citizen who had been in Eastern Europe from 3 March to 14 March. She is currently warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
16. She reported onset of symptoms on 14 March, and presented at NCID on 15 March. Subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 15 March afternoon.
17. She is employed as an adjunct teaching staff at Republic Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic, but had not gone to work since onset of symptoms. She stays at Ewe Boon Road.
6. Case 227 is an imported case involving a 53 year-old male Singapore Citizen who had been in France from 7 March to 12 March. He is currently warded in an isolation room at the National University Hospital (NUH).
7. He reported onset of symptoms on 11 March while in France, and had presented at the emergency department of NUH on 14 March. Subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 15 March afternoon.
8. He is a staff of Lighthouse Evangelism Church (Tampines Street 82) but had not gone to work since onset of symptoms. He stays at Pasir Panjang Road.
Case 228
9. Case 228 is a 67 year-old male Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. He is currently warded in an isolation room at Changi General Hospital (CGH).
10. He reported onset of symptoms on 3 March, and had sought treatment at a general practitioner (GP) clinic and Bedok Polyclinic on 3 March, 11 March and 13 March. He presented at the emergency department of CGH on 13 March. Subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 15 March afternoon.
11. Prior to hospital admission, he mostly stayed at his home at Sea Breeze Avenue except to seek medical treatment.
Case 229
12. Case 229 is an imported case involving a 26 year-old female Singapore Permanent Resident who had been in Spain from 14 February to 14 March. She is currently warded in an isolation room at NUH. She is a family member of Case 240.
13. She reported onset of symptoms on 15 March, and had sought treatment at a GP clinic on the same day. She presented at NCID on 15 March, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 15 March afternoon.

“On 15 March, SIM has been informed of a Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) student who was tested positive for COVID-19. This is Case 214.
SUSS shares a common campus with SIM at Clementi Road.
Upon notification of the case, SIM has undertaken deep cleansing and disinfecting of the areas he spent time in.
The part-time SUSS Social Work student was last on campus on March 12. He went straight ot his classroom and left campus after the lesson. SUSS is working closely with the authorities to do Contact Tracing of his close contacts.
He is currently warded at NCID and is coping well.
We will keep up with the cleaning of our campus to remind everyone to be vigilant, monitor their health, practise good personal hygiene and seek medical attention immediately of unwell.

“One of our part-time Social Work students was tested positive for COVID-19 on 14 March 2020. The student reported onset of symptoms on 5 March 2020, and has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. He is linked to a case outside of SUSS and was last on campus on the evening of 12 March 2020. He went straight to his classroom and left campus after the lesson.
The student is now under the care of doctors at NCID and is coping well.
Care officers from our Student Support office and our Counselling and Care Centre (C3) have been activated to provide all the necessary support for our student and family.
We are working closely with the relevant authorities and have begun Contact Tracing those who had close contact with the affected student. All those in close contact have already been put on Leave of Absence and some may be put on quarantine later on. Disinfection of the areas in which the affected student spent time has already been completed.
Your safety in our campus is of utmost importance to us. Other important precautionary measures remain in force on campus: – Temperature taking – Travel declarations – Increased frequency of cleaning of campus facilities (up to four times daily)

According to a Facebook post by the Singapore Customs, an operation was conducted on the 9 of March leading to the arrest of four suspects.
The operation lasted 3 hours, leading to the arrest of 3 Vietnamese and 1 Singaporean.

Singapore Customs conducted a three-hour operation on 9 March 2020 and arrested three Vietnamese and a Singaporean, at three different locations for peddling duty-unpaid cigarettes. Court proceedings against three men are on-going while investigation is on-going for the remaining Vietnamese offender.
Buying, selling, conveying, delivering, storing, keeping, having in possession or dealing with duty-unpaid goods are serious offences under the Customs Act and the GST Act.
Offenders can be fined up to 40 times the amount of duty and GST evaded and/or jailed for up to six years. Vehicles used in the commission of such offences are also liable to be forfeited.
