In the day it’s just an abandon back alley.During the night, illegal gamblers start to gather and begin enjoying gambling. How is this even possible in modern day Singapore where we have 340 police cameras installed yet this still occurs.
Literally metres from the gambling dens there are police cameras in operation. One might doubt if the camera are even working. The cat and mouse game of the police and criminals has been going on at geylang for years. Why is no action taken to arrest the illegal operations in geylang.
Please avoid gambling at this illegal areas.
Please refer to section 8 of the following link to see the full penalties of illegal gambling.
The answer is no, no matter how i try to justify my answer. When you ask around, no matter which group of friend you asked they will always say no.
Why? Why does singaporeans do not love their country. The answer is simple… we are too pampered by the govt. Some of you might disagree. But being a fellow singaporean that has work overseas you will see what is real unfairness and no govt policies that will not protect you. I was working in US… In many movies you would learn that it is a country of freedom and opportunity.
Imagine working there for 7 days a week for the whole year, yet no overtime is paid. The MNCs have a way to bypass this law and avoid detection from the law. A basic meal will cost u 15dollars and above.
Can you imagine working in Singapore where u can easily go to a food court or coffee for such a simple meal at 5dollars? Working 8 hours a day, entitled to overtime and having off days.
Many singaporeans are choosers, when your in other countries you don’t have a choice. Either you accept the fact you have to work like a slave or u complain and get fired. Even foreign construction workers that work in the sun and sweat like a pig are entitled to benefits of singapore labour law.
The question again… Are you sure you want to leave singapore?
Following the recent incidents of a maid that was trapped in the lift for an hour. One would suspect are the lifts really being maintained.
Residents at the incident area, mention that they felt unsafe prior to this incident. Then why did no one report till this incident has happened?
Although the maid is safe, what if the lift did not shot up, but shot down instead?
Many of you might be thinking when you take the lift and feel that you have never seen the maintenance guy for the past 10 years staying at your HDB.
Only when the lifts breakdown you will see someone repairing. If you guys have notice, in the lift. There is no longer a requirement to display a maintenance log in the lifts, you would see “Certificate of maintenance is no longer required to be displayed in the lift “bla bla bla” will ensure that the lifts are maintain. “.
But at the same time, users of the lift have to report to town council if they felt that the elevator was not in proper working conditions. Please be vigilant safe your life and prevent tragedies.

In this day and age how are youngsters still being able to smoke in broad daylight in school uniform.
Singapore has a strict policy that the underage are not allow to purchase or consume any cigarettes or any tobacco products.
Currently there is a on going proposal to raise the legal smoking age from 18 to 21. But how is this going to stop young children from getting their hands on cigarettes.
Although Singapore is one the countries in the world that has the lowest smoking rate. We are still fighting a worldwide problem of the illegal sale of cigarettes to minors.
We need to make a stand and punish those who are selling or helping minors to acquire cigarettes, i believe a stricter enforcement to those caught helping minors get cigarettes should be impose.
Say Goodbye to the ERP gates where many drivers fear and try to avoid.
Singapore govt is bringing the new ERP system that uses a satellite system. The new ERP system is set to be operational by 2020, the satellite has the ability to cover all singapore roads and charge drivers by the distance travelled instead of the traditional fixed rates.
The new system will allow the govt to be able to charge fairly and justify road usage prices without only relying on fuel duties.
Locals are worried that the new ERP system might impose even higher fees. The future is still unknown. But always be prepared and save money!
