Professor Er Meng Joo 55-years-old from Nanyang Technological University(NTU) pleaded guilty today for 2 counts of shoplifting.
The professor has stolen a number of items such air fresheners and toiletries. The items amount to $225.15. The crime was committed at a Dunearn Road Esso service(NTUC Fairprice outlet).
He was caught in the act by one of the employees at the store. The manager of the store watch the CCTV as Er left the store without paying on 24 Jan 2016 and another occasion on the 29 Jan 2016 at around 9.40am.
For each count of shoplifting he can easily received sentence of up to 3 years.

With the Star Wars Day collaboration will kick off. Expect to see Moana, Luke Skywalker, and Mickey Mouse roaming the streets of Singapore.
Intended at providing unique experiences themed around Disney’s biggest brands and most popular stories and characters The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia announced a three-year collaboration.
The three-day event that will be held at the Gardens by the Bay celebrating Star Wars’ 40th anniversary, Star Wars Day: May the 4th Be With You Festival will kick off the partnership.
The partnership will not only add vibrancy to their existing events laid out for the whole year and hope to attract visitors from across the Southeast Asia region and beyond said STB chief Lionel Yeo
“The multi-year activations will profile our attractions and precincts in Singapore, beginning with Gardens by the Bay for the Star Wars festival held in May. Our collaboration with Disney will also offer plentiful opportunities for local event organisers and SMEs to grow their businesses and enhance their capabilities in world-class branded entertainment events,” he added.
Hey Singapore friends: just a heads up, this guy physically assaulted me on the MRT, so if you ever see him, be on your guard. I was with a friend and he approached me–drunk–and said he was gay, and that he wanted to fu*k me. He said, “I know you’re gay, so let’s fu*k.”
This went on for several minutes and I tried to politely diffuse the situation, but then he began to yell at my friend when she intervened; I wouldn’t let this stand, and started to become angry myself. He threatened her, and some other people on the train intervened (several were filming). He touched me, and I told him not to, and I briefly lost my temper–after that he slapped me on the side of the head. He kept going on and on, and when a woman tried to take his picture, he attempted to kick her phone out of her hand. When my friend and I got off at our stop, he got off as well, but we managed to evade him and leave the station without him following us.

For those of you that don’t know: I’m not gay (not that it should matter). However, I don’t exactly fit the “masculine” mold of society, so oftentimes I am mistaken as queer–on several occasions around the world, for example, I’ve caught flak for carrying a “man purse.” On a personal level, this is why I need feminism: so I can be confident in myself and not feel like I have to fulfill any gender role assigned to me. However, I do appreciate that women probably have to deal with this shit (or at least the threat of it) on a fairly regular basis.
For those asking “Why didn’t you fight back or call the police?” I say, “I am a white immigrant in a country where I do not have citizenship and am a minority–law enforcement may not take my side, despite video and photo evidence.” This is something I learned while living in South Korea, where no amount of assimilation will protect you when a Korean is arguing against you. In this situation, there’s a chance I would’ve been accused of inciting violence, and been charged accordingly.
I feel pretty awful about this–it’s after 2:30 in the morning and I can’t sleep; I can’t even bring myself to watch the video. Is that normal? In a sick sense, I feel lucky to have this recorded: it’s proof! And others have recorded it as well! Some people would die for that kind of evidence!
Yet here I am, too embarrassed and too ashamed to watch it.
A slap on the head is nothing, really, but I feel completely unsettled–Singapore has been a trial by fire since my first day, and this doesn’t help. In all honesty, I’m a bit tipsy and have no idea what I’m feeling.
I wish I’d said thank you to the train people who took a stand and put themselves between me and this man, but I was too rattled to muster it (at least I could thank my friend, who had the good sense to make a video). I wish I’d sat in a different train car, and the whole situation could’ve been avoided. Was it the V-neck I was wearing? My ripped skinny jeans? I probably should have held my temper, but that’s not my character. Could I have found a way to peacefully diffuse the whole situation? It’s obviously not my fault but, somehow, a part of me is convinced it was.
Anyway, I have work in the morning, so the only thing to do is press on (or at least try to get some sleep). I’ve accomplished more in a few years than I could’ve ever imagined, and I’ve met so many amazing and supportive people along the way–I can’t really let the few bastards of the world stop me, can I?

The monkey that roams Segar road and climbing into HDB has been making quite a stir online. The monkey managed to climb into a 14-floor HDB unit and caused a mess and even cause injury to the homeowner. Not sure if insurance covers animal attacks.
What could be the sudden cause of the invasion of this monkeys? Could it be potential because the environment that the monkey stayed in got disturbed? Or feeding of the monkeys has become a habit to the animal till it had to do that.
Previously, residents of Sin Ming avenue were unhappy that the free roaming chickens have been making so much noise. After numerous complaints by the residents, the chicken had to be put down by the AVA.
One can only wonder what will happen to the monkeys at Segar road?
A video appeared on stomp that a bigger size student was holding the arms of a smaller size students.
The student beat the student and head locks him on the floor. Im surprise why the person video taking is not stopping the bullying.
Currently, no school has come forward and explained what course of action has been taken against such violence in schools.

FT working as a Business Processing Manager in Singapore came to his repair shop to repair a MacBook. After the repair, the laptop got send to the FT’s home and the joke is that the FT said did not have cash on him and will transfer the money later(within an hour). But the later become MIA never pay
The repair man had no choice but to report police but the police cannot do anything about it because the agreement between business are considered civil cases.
The FT call back kpkb say he never fix the laptop and will bring to Apple directly to fix the laptop.
The FT that did not pay for the repair service still has the cheek to post the photos of the repair man online and harass him online. The photos included his family photos. Worse of all he came back to the repair shop and threaten that he will take a Macbook that belongs to another customer. If he did this one as good as stealing.
