In the spirit of Chinese New Year, the Istana will be holding a open house on 5 February 2022, subjected to safe management measures (SMM) which visitors will be required to follow.
This was announced by the Istana today (21 Jan).
No performances
Visitors will only be able to access the outdoor gardens in the Istana, and there will be no performances organised or even tours and food trucks.
There will also be no tours of the main building.
Safe distancing ambassadors (SDA) will be on duty on ensure that visitors follow the SMM rules strictly, such as keeping their masks on at all times.
Application of tickets
Tickets can be applied online for visitors who wish to visit the Istana but they are limited to five tickets per application.
They have to be applied in advance and have to choose from the available two hour timeslots of 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
An electronic balloting system will be used to choose who gets the tickets.
People who wish to apply for tickets can start doing so from 10am on 24 Jan to 10am on 25 Jan at the website here.
All visitors including infants must hold a ticket and all tickets only permit one to enter the grounds of Istana.
Merchandise for sale
Merchandise which consists of limited edition Istana souvenirs and President’s Challenge souvenirs will be available for sale at booths.
Only Paynow will be accepted as payments for the merchandises and all of the proceeds will go to the President challenge approved charities.
The Istana ended by saying that visitors’ cooperation and understanding is greatly appreciated so that the experience can be pleasant for all.
