My husband and I were expecting our first baby. Like any expectant parents, we had been preparing for our new addition for months.
We had attended birthing classes, read tons of parenting books, and purchased all the necessary baby items.
Asked me to take MRT to the hospital
But there was one thing we hadn’t planned for: my husband wanted me to take the MRT to the hospital to give birth.
I was taken aback. Why would he want me to take the MRT instead of driving or taking Grab to the hospital? After some prodding, I found out it was because he wanted to save money.
He wanted to avoid paying for parking or the Grab fare. I was aghast. He was willing to put the risk of me getting into an mishap outside just to save a few bucks?
I explained to my husband that taking the MRT to the hospital was a very bad idea. I explained that the MRT could be crowded, and it could be difficult to get a seat.
I also explained that the ride could take longer than expected and that I would be in pain during the journey.
Worst of all, I couldn’t be sure that the MRT would arrive on time or if there would be any delays.
Eventually thought through and woke up his idea
My husband eventually came to his senses and agreed that taking theMRT was not a good idea. He apologized for suggesting it in the first place and agreed to drive me to the hospital.
I was relieved and grateful that he had come to his senses and that I wasn’t going to have to take the MRT to the hospital to give birth.
Taking the MRT to the hospital was a bad idea and I’m glad that my husband eventually realized it. I understand that he wanted to save money, but I’m thankful that he ultimately me and our baby first.
I’m also thankful that he realized that there are some things that money just can’t buy, and that sometimes it’s better to spend a little more to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.
