
According to the media release, 24-year-old, Gervan Wong Jun Heng who was involved in the Chua Chu Kang Cemetery assault on the 10 May 2020 had reoffended while out bail.
According to the media, Gervan was already smacked with 24 charges of offences including drug consumption and two other counts of assault even before the incident.
On the 12 May 2020, he was charged in court along with 29-year-old, Andre Chen Si’en for their involvement on the assault of Douglas Wong Wei Hao. They had caused the victim serious injuries which include a deformed arm, puncture wounds on the victim’s legs and another wound on his head.
Both men were arrested within 10 hours after the police were alerted.
The two other cases where Gervan is involved:
On the 11 May 2019, He attacked a men Yuen De Sheng with an extendable baton in a hotel room located at Robertson Quay. The second incident happened on 27 Oct 2019, he assaulted 2 men together with 2 other suspects, at the basement car park of MBS. They are accused to have attacked the 2 men with a knife.
The investigation is ongoing.
Gervan and Andre are currently remanded at the Woodlands Police Division. They will be back in court on the 19 May 2020.
According to the law, anyone who is convicted of voluntarily causing hurt with weapons will face a lifetime jail term or 15 years in jail with a fine or caning.
