MOH announced on 10 December that there were 3 more people who have tested preliminarily positive for the Omicron variant, with one of them being a frontline worker at the airport – the other 2 were imported.
All three cases are currently in isolation wards at the NCID and recovering.
The frontline airport worker is a 38-year-old male passenger service staff deployed at the departure gates at Terminal 3.
There are no known linkages between the man and the previous local case of a 24-year-old female Singaporean who tested preliminarily positive for the variant.
His PCR test returned preliminarily positive for the Omicron variant and he self-isolated at home before being sent to NCID.
All the cases are fully vaccinated and asymptomatic and MOH is currently doing contract tracing and ringfencing the cases.
